Hi ladies..i found this on another thread..it may help you all...i don't numb the site either...my RE said it sometimes is harder for the shot to absorb...check this out..i hope it helps!!! my re also said instead of heating the syringe in a heating pad, just stick it in your hand for a few minutes..it will warm up like that too!!! It looks like this person gives herself the shots everynight...WOW! my dh has to do mine...LOL!!
Here is my PIO nightly routine: 1. Heat the injection site with a heating pad (quite warm) 2. Tuck the filled syringe under the heating pad for a short while until it warms to the touch (not hot). 3. Sit near a mirror so that I can see the area (I do my own). 4. Ensure that there is no pressure on the leg that you are injecting. Lean / put pressure on the other leg. 5. Hold the injection site firmly with your hand / clean site / while still holding, you start to inject the PIO with the other hand. 6. Inject slowly. 7. Remove syringe / clean / press with gauze and rub area for a few minutes. Overall, I do not have any pain. The site is a bit uncomfortable if I press on it and I have been numb, but no crazy knots or anything like that.

there is also a video on you tube that shows the woman doing it herself...i think you plug in PIO shot on you tube and it will come up!!!

Hi Ladies,
I post on the Donor Issues section, and just wanted to tell you I had made a thread entitled PIO shot tips if anyone wants any other suggestions! The ones I read on here are good, however I would not recommend sitting if doing your own because you want to place your wt. on the opposite side of where you are injecting. You tube has many very good videos on giving PIO shots alone and with someone! Good Luck to everyone, I am in my 2ww!

Mary, thank you for the info on PIOs. I hate those injections, and I hope to be able to switch over to something else once I have my betas.... For my previous pregnancy I did PIOs for 12 weeks. After a while, I was numb, so it didn't matter...
Anyway, I have been keeping busy in anticipation of the beta tomorrow.... I will be going in for my beta tomorrow morning. Hopefully, I will have a nice big number. I POAS again today, and this time around, the line was as dark as the control line. I was very happy about that. Kristen, good luck with POAS tomorrow... I am sure that Whiskey is right and you're preggo....! Emily: Have a blast in Vegas. It can be done, even withour booze... You'll have a great time and it'll take your mind away from the crazyness of IVF... KCFCLF: I feel tired too. I was at work today, and I was soooo tired, I was losing my patience... I hate when that happens.... Oh well... nothing I can do. Hopeful: How are you feeling? Any nausea kicking in yet? With your elevating numbers, soon you'll start feeling a little different  Anyway, I'll update you guys as soon as I find out tomorrow... Wish me luck.

northeastgirl - good luck on your beta numbers...i know you will get high numbers...since that line was so dark!! i will be checking tomorrow so keep us posted. i have 3rd beta tomorrow, i am nervous!again good luck, and i will say a prayer for you!!!
 krissymexico - are you going to POAS tomorrow? have whiskey stand right by your side!! let us know, k??  godiva4me - thanks so much for the info! i will definately have to check that out!!! good luck in your 2ww!!  to you  i went to acupuncture this afternoon and she said my numbers looked great.....still praying for 3rd beta tomorrow. i guess you can't help but be nervous, right?? i hope everyone else is doing great....

I went for the blood test. They usually call around 12 noon or a little later... Let's hope for a nice number!

goodmorning ladies,
ok so i broke down and poas and i got a i was sitting in bed crying i was so mad, frusterated,and sad, and then i heard my dh laughing.... hes like kristen come you have to see this..last night we went out to dinner and when we came home my dh forgot to put the plastic on the sofa... so when my dh called me over to the living room this morning there it was , whiskey had done pee pee again on the sofa, he made my day i just started to laugh.... so my dh and i have decided to go tomorrow to the lab in town and have my beta done, i will be 10dp3dt i just need to know what it is and move on from there, there is no way i could wait till wed... northeastgirl...wishing you great numbers today,ill be thinking of you mery... bring home some great numbers!!!! ill be thinking of you wishing everyone a nice day  ill let everyone know tomorrow how my beta went

Kristen, I am sorry about the HPT. You are right, it's a good idea to go and get a blood test done. That's the most accurate thing...

Krissy-don't get discouraged...as we know, lots of girls have BFN on hpt and get a positive blood test. I don't blame you for wanting to go tomorrow-good luck and I will be thinking of you!

Krissy - this morning we were posting at the same time, I'm so sorry to hear you go a negative home test, but remember they are not all as sensitive and it isn't over. I got 3 out of the 11 tests I took negative and on the last day when I used the First Response test I was about to give up and count it as 4 out of 11, when i finally got a faint line from them!

krissy - please don't give up hope. the other girls are right, maybe the test isn't as sensitive, and it is only 10dp3dt...it's still absolutely not over for you. please know i am thinking of you and praying for a BFP..if anyone deserves it, it's you! give whiskey a big kiss for me. keep us posted. northeastgirl - good luck on your beta!! i cannot wait to hear your high numbers!!! fertilitysocks - how r u feeling today????? marthac - thanx for the encouraging words!! what's up with you this friday??? holdingmybreath - happy friday to you...what's happening? hopeful12 - i still don't feel much either..sore bb's here and there, a little bit of nausea here and there, and really bloated and extremely hungry! well, i guess those are good....i too want to feel more! bring it on! afm - visited dracula this morning..i hope they do not make me wait too long today. nervous still! thanx everyone for their kind thoughts..you are all so sweet to me!! if all goes well, 4th beta sunday, possible u/s monday or tuesday. we'll see.....
