I'm sorry to have kept ya'll waiting so long today. I didn't get my beta until extremely late tonight. I actually had to call the clinic and leave a voicemail after 5 pm today. I got a callback from a nurse who was like, I already talked to you today (about a repeat pap I need to do) I don't understand why you want us to call you. I'm like I had blood done today, and I would like my numbers.

Seriously, I'm glad I'm changing doctor's after this!

Anyhow, my beta is 3101! I'm all set for my ultrasound on the 7th.

Northeast girl - I know you are using a different clinic than I am, but I have a question about how your "protocol" is. The nurse I talked to today indicated to me that if everything is fine with my ultrasound I will be "graduating" to an obgyn, and have nothing else to do with my fertility doctor. Doesn't that sound strange to anyone else?

I've never had a positive, so I'm trying to go with the flow of this clinic. If they are going to be monitoring me more, I have to know because I need the doctor to sign FMLA paperwork. I live 3 hrs from Boston and anytime I have to go there, it takes me all day for the appointment. If they aren't going to monitor me anymore I can skip the FMLA. The only other problem I have now is, I don't have an OBGYN. Oh well, I guess I better find one soon if they are going to kick to one so quickly.

I hope all are doing good.

Jenn

maybeamommy…I forgot to mention that your u/s picture is breath-taking. It is going to feel strange for me not to have a probe stuck in me trying to take a picture of how many follicles I have. ..thank goodness. Congratulations on the twin reports…lucky gal

marthac…Congratulations on the transfer. I like to take classes on-line to keep up my teacher certification. This last course I took was on Water Management in our area…very interesting. A few weeks ago, I went to a seminar to listen to a speech on the PhD program at one of our local universities. The cost is outrageous ….$50,000 tuition and books. Too pricy for me cup of tea. So, in a few years, I will need to shop again for the right program.

mery…I’m feeling nauseous myself. I’m eating the right food but yesterday I broke down and had McDonalds (which is awful) and Chinese food (which I’m still paying for). I learned my lesson about eating right. Today, I am going to run to the store and buy the ginger.

holdingmybreath…I have the same question about graduating from RE. When I go in next Friday, I will let you know what he tells me. My RE’s office is not always forthcoming with information which is frustrating. In the meantime, I spend extra time on the computer trying to find out the next step.

hopeful…Morning sickness has hit me like a ton of bricks. I truly though I would beat it. Also, I do not know what they call it morning sickness…it’s a cruel joke. DH is trying to help, but I’ve turned into a “cuddle bug.” All I want to do is cuddle and nap.

Krissy…Last week was my session with ACP. It was so hard to say goodbye to her, but I feel we have to start saving money. How is everything going?

Good morning! I am still on bedrest, but have my laptop next to me (not on my tummy!) Please share your bedrest experiences...did you get up at all? My DH is being a drill sargeant and even gets onto me if I am up too long to pee. I did get up for dinner last night. I'd love to hear everyone's experiences. Did you sit up in bed or lay flat the whole time?

Sadly, none of our thawed embies were good enough to re-freeze. I am thankful we have 11 more 2-cell frosties in the freezer.

My Beta is 5/10...mother's day!

Holding- GREAT beta!!!

I am so jealous of all of you with morning (and anytime) sickness!!! It's a good thing!!!

martha! I'm rooting for you girlie! I stayed in bed the whole time and laid on my left side (that's said to promote bloodflow to the uterus). I watched the entire first season of Dexter (the TV show). I only got up to pee and I did sit at the table for dinner and breakfast. Other than that, I didn't get up! I used the laptop in bed and didn't even shower! Eat some pineapple core too! I did that for 48 hours and then went back to normal activity (but NO intercourse, and took only warm showers instead of steaming hot which is how i normally take them!)

holding - great beta! my RE sees us until 10 weeks but we had to pay OOP because my stupid insurance won't cover it. i know that some REs only see you until they see a HB and then release you to the OB. I guess each place is different!

girls - is there a certain time that m/s usually kicks in by? i mean, is there a point at which once you pass that then you're "safe?"

marthac - hey!! i am glad you are bedresting! my RE had me on 3 days strict bed rest, no showers, and only got up to pee. DH bought me a bed tray thingy so i ate in bed too. i sat up, but i did sleep alot! after the 3 days bedrest, i had another four days of house arrest...that's what he called it, lol. i didn't leave the house, and pretty much just made food and then laid down again. eat that pineapple...i ate the same amount every day for 5 days, starting on day of transfer..get some core in there too! a mother's day beta is great! wow!!! and you still have all those frosties!!!

nascar01 - i too noticed that when i would eat fried food or too much at one time, it would make me feel really sick...i tried the small healthy meals yesterday and felt better.

maybeamommy - i read that it normally starts to kick in around week 6....mine really kicked in a few days ago and today is the start of my week 6. i really do think it is so different for everyone...do you have any? there are some women that never get it, my mom never had bit of it and i was fine!! lol!!

hopeful12 - no problem! i figured i would share since it's seemed to have helped me!

afm - i am going to the mall to do some mother's day shopping even though i am soooo tired this morning and woke up with some nasty nausea. i put my seabands on and drank some of the ginger drink and i felt better..we'll see how long i can make it shopping! i also found myself stressing this morning on if we will see the heartbeat or heartbeats on monday, and if there is another little bean in there...it will be 6 weeks 2 days...it will make DH and i feel so much better to see that! i hope you all have a wonderful saturday!!

Just a quick note again (my friend is here from NYC and we are about to go out again)...

Holdingmybreath: In my clinic they do an US and then you graduate to your OB, which means they NEVER see you again... With my first pregnancy I went by a couple of times, but not for monitoring. Once you graduate to the OB, you are considered a normal pregnancy... as if you had conceived naturally

I'll write more, probably later on or tomorrow... Have a great time everyone...

Martha - I know it's tough laying around all day, but it's so worth it. With every cycle except this one I was on bedrest for three days. Most of my cycles conviently fell on the day before my two day weekend. This last cycle was in the middle of the week, so I had to go back to work the day after the transfer. Ironically, I didn't feel good, so at lunch I went home and went back on bedrest. Friday I went to work and was fine. So, the two (sort of) days bedrest were not total rest. The first day the transfer occured so very late in the afternoon and it's a 3 hours drive home from the doctor. We stopped on the way home and had dinner and then came home. We got home just in time to give me a shot and then I went to our bed. I layed there and watched tv the rest of the night. The next day after I went on bedrest, I layed on the couch and the recliner. I got up to go to the potty and to get my takeout when the delivery guy got here. Otherwise, I layed down or slightly reclined in the recliner. I hope this isn't too hard for you!

Northeast girl - Thanks for the reply. I hope you have fun with your friend from NYC. I went today with a girlfriend of mine to see the new movie, "Ghosts of Girlfriend's past" It was pretty funny. Being emotionally preggers I cried too.

Krissy - I'm glad you are doing so well. I can tell you are very strong, and I'm glad you still come to see us.

Mery71 - I'm sorry you are having such bad m/s. Mine has been bad at times and not so bad at others. I have noticed if I don't eat when my body says I'm hungry I have it really bad. My hubby lectured me on that today. He said you have to eat when your hungry and don't worry about me. I'm finding that I'm actually not very hungry in the mornings, it's weird cause I've always eaten breakfast.

maybe - I don't think there is a specific time that if you don't get sick you are safe. I have been told by some friends that they were sick early and others got sick much later in the pregnancies. I've been sick since the day after the transfer. I've noticed in the last couple of days I'm not as sick as I have been. It just depends on the day and what I'm doing or not doing.

afm I'm doing good. It's almost midnight here, and this is the latest I've stayed up in the probably 3 weeks. I better go to bed soon, before my hubby gets upset at me. He has become my drill sargent since becoming preggers, not while on bedrest, but since we got a postive test. He's so funny. I sometimes wonder if he's more excited about this than I am. Welp, I hope everyone is having a good weekend! Oh I have to tell you guys about an exciting Christmas gift we got for our parents for this year. We were at Radioshack and there was one of those LCD picture frames, you know the kind you can load up with pictures and they will flip through the ones loaded up on them, well it was on Clearence so I suggested we get them for our parents. It was awesome they were originally $129.00 and we got them for $30 and $40 dollars. They were the same items, but one was the display and that's why we got one a little cheaper. I can't wait. I told my hubby if we have the baby before xmas we could load them with pics of the baby and if not then we could just load it with pics of ultrasounds. I don't have the embryo pics, but that's ok. I'm sure they will love all the pics we will send.

holdingmybreath - yeah, i didn't eat at the right times yesterday and maybe that is why i was so sick. i tried to go shopping and had to leave because i broke out into a cold sweat and almost lost it! i did get my mom a mothers day gift, but i need a new bra..mine is too small now! my dh got on me about not eating when i was hungry too..we'll see how today goes. that sounds like a great idea about the LCD picture frame..i may steal your idea..lol! dh and i have one with one of our vacations on it and we love it. i'm glad you are not sick all of the time..that's great news!!

bad news..

i think i might be having a miscarriage. yesterday i had cramping and some bleeding, and today i have been bleeding a lot. like a heavy period. PLEASE GOD don't take my two babies from me!

my RE is not on call this weekend, it's the other RE and she said not to go to the hospital unless i am hemorrhaging or doubled over in pain. she basically said there is nothing that i can do. i feel so helpless. at first when it wasn't that much bleeding i thought maybe we were just losing baby B (the smaller one), but today with all of this bleeding i feel like we are losing them both

Maybe - Hang in there!!! I know how it feels to be told not to go to the hospital. Yesterday I went anyway because I started having heavy spotting. No matter how normal they say it is we will always worry. It was worth it though! Because they did a sonogram right away, and we saw a heartbeat. It was comforting to say the least. If you can't make it to the ER drink plenty of fluids, and talk to your babies. Tell them how you can't wait until they arrive. Heck you can even fuss at them a bit for all the trouble. Lol! Just try to stay positive. I hope that all is well. You will be in my prayers. Take care.

maybeamommy...That is true...you might be dehydrated. Drink, drink and drink water to hydrate yourself. Did RE put you on bedrest in the meantime? I will go on the internet to see if I could research some information for you. Give me an hour. Stay strong and like Chodori's_angel said, talk to the babies. Hang in there.

Maybe- I am praying for you and your babies. I have friends who bled during their pregnancy and all was OK, so please stay positive. But, I will continue to pray for you.
