Ladies Those Are some AWESOME ultrasound pics.
Chordi and maybe I will be for both your baby b's. I'm very excited for both of you.Mery that's awesome that you and your hubby saw the heartbeat, even if the doctor didn't want to acknowledge it. I can't wait for Thursday to get here. It definately won't get here fast enough. So I got nauseous today. I went and bought those seabands, but they cut into my wrists pretty bad. They say they are one size fits all, but I have extremely large wrists that I inherited from my mom. Like normal bracelets don't fit me. So I don't know how much I will wear them. I couldn't tell if they were working or not. I still was a little nauseous when I was wearing them. Man oh man am I craving red meat now! My friend told me to help with eating so much I should eat eggs for breakfast (if I can stomach them.) Today I made it alright. I hope all are doing good. Jenn

The u/s were adorable.
maybeamommy...I am so happy things worked out for the best. Keep positive about baby B. That little one will catch up. chodori's_angel...Two little beans...very cool. Congratulations! holdingmybreath...I was wondering when you were going to get nauseous. I sent DH to go and buy the wrist bands. chodori's_angel...How much of a shelf life is the medication? Is it a big savings? I loved reading the part that said we will donate them if we can't use them. You're amazing and one of a kind. Like your name...you're definitely an angel. marthac...How are you feeling? Do you feel any tugs or cramps? hopeful12...Is there any thing that you are eating that settles? I'm trying to eat every couple of hours, but nothing seems to work. Crackers are causing heartburn. Oh man, DH and I went for a short short walk. He does not want me to over do it. |

Mery - That's so funny about the red meat on your end. I've never been much of a meat eater, and now I can't get enough. I was a big sweets eater and now that I'm preggers I can't stomach anything sweet. Last week I ate a single bite of an oatmeal cookie and I almost vomited. It was so horrible!
Chodori's - thanks for the link, I'll try it out Oh Nascar girl I've had morning sickness longer than the rest of ya'll. I'm just glad ya'll are catching up to me. I have had 4 whole days without morning sickness and it was unnerving because I've found the m/s to be a comforting friend telling me everything is working. I so can't wait for the ultrasound. I hope everyone with morning sickness can find some good cures. I have been craving watermelon too. I've been craving salads and red meat. It's crazy. One of my friends told me we crave certain foods because we are missing some sort of vitamin or mineral. Ya'll have a good night, I'll be going to bed soon.

I was very fortunate!!! I worked for Intergris, and they covered everything!!!! I had the option of getting IVF, and I didn't even know it until I rumaged through my file cabinet looking for my benefits book. The only reason I even wanted to take a glance was because my DH wanted to know about our dental plan. Anyways as I was flipping the pages I came across the fertility section. I swear that I never saw that page before!!! Come to find out they covered $40,000.00 for IVF, and $10,000.00 for meds. The only catch was that you had to use their facility. Well who am I to complain!!! I probably scared the hell out of my DH, as I came singing and dancing into the bedroom. And here it is we are pregnant!!! I couldn't be happier!!!! Thats why if those meds. expire before I can use them I am going to donate them!!! The cost of IVF meds. here runs about $2,500 or more. Which can hender a couples desire to continue. I was blessed, so why not bless others. I won't know when they expire until I pick them up on Friday. So here's to hoping!!!!

I asked my RE today how much longer will I be on the shots. He says probably another 4-5 weeks!!! Ughhh...But he said that I can take a once a week Hydroxyprogesterone Caproate Injection. It's really hard to get this prescription filled because it's a compound. Is anyone else doing this. If so, how is it?

Insurance and Meds
chodoris - wow..that is sooo awesome...if this wasn't meant to be! i work for the city of anaheim and although my benefits are wonderful for dh and i, they did not cover any fertility. so yes, everything we have done was out of pocket..i think our meds costed at least $3500 on top of the ivf procedure itself. some ladies at our clinic donated some meds and i was able to get my hands on some of them...so that is soooo extremely generous and sweet of you to donate. we appreciate it!! my RE said first 11 weeks for PIO and estrogen patches, no exceptions. so i guess that's 6 1/2 weeks more. i was telling my nurse today that my butt is numb and she said it will take while for that to go away!!

Good Morning everyone!!!
Regarding the insurance...my hubby worked in New Jersey and NJ is a mandatory IVF state. We were covered for pretty much everything, less our deductible ($200) and co pay ($20). The covered the freezing of the sperm, the meds, like I said everything. It was great, but he got laid off in March. They covered us til the end of March and now I had to pick up insurance at my job. I am in New York, not a mandatory state...and since he had a vasectomy, no coverage at all. So I had an employee liason fight for me since I was in the middle of a cycle..and they covered the monitoring (2 times) and then the beta after transfer. And now that I am preggo I am covered...Thank God! We had to pay for the transfer out of pocket...it was $1,200, but it was worth it.
As far as m/s...I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Crackers = heartburn, gingerale = it makes it worse. I had just plan macaroni last night and I was ok. I am going to try mashed potatoes. I hate red meat and have been craving it too...I had a small steak on Saturday and was like YUMMY..that's not me. Could be my body needs iron...I am going to try to eat more often..small meals...yesterday and today I am alone at work so it's hard to run out to get things. I'm going to stock up when I get breakfast.
Have a great day everyone!!

Just wanted to pop in and tell you all I'm still alive.
This weekend was really tough. Really hard. I have one embryo left, and we're going to implant that next month, but honestly, i'm letting the pregnancy dream go for now. I have a meeting with the doctor on Thursday. I am going to ask him to recheck my thyroid. That was my first test we did, and I still am surprised it came back normal. I have all the signs for hypothyroidism: low basal temp, depression, dry skin, hair falls out, constipation, etc. I'm dreading the meeting because the nurses and the doctor always greet you with a sympathetic face and an "I'm sorry." What are you supposed to say to that? Meantime, AF is here and she is a biotch this time. I am in so much pain. So I'm getting better each day, but I'm still angry, hurt, sad, and jealous.

Oh, and to make the weekend harder, our foster dachshund was adopted! We had him for 2.5 months, and loved him. While we're glad he's in his "forever home", I miss him and the way he stole my food.

Fertilitysocks-I'm sorry you have had a rough couple of weeks, but I'm not giving up hope for your little frosty!
I am glad you can transfer next month too. I'm praying for you, girl!I love hearing about everyone's cravings...some of them seem so random, huh? As for ins. I quit my job in Feb. and started working in Arkansas (it's close to where I live in Memphis) because AR is one of the states w/mandatory IVF coverage...it's $15,000 over a lifetime, and I still pay 20% after deduct. but we have saved a lot of $$$ even so. However, PIO is not covered for some reason and it's starting to add up! Nascar-yes, I have had little cramps, a little nausea, and a bbs are sore. I have slept a lot too. I am hoping and praying those are symptoms!

hey everyone! how are you all doing?
about insurance - the funny thing (well not funny really) is that even when there is mandated IVF coverage in a state (like my state of CA...) that just means that it has to be offered to companies... they don't have to take it. so where i work, i don't have any IVF coverage... even though i'm in a mandated state. fun, right? martha - how much is your PIO? i just started PIO last night and it was $125 for 3 vials (enough for 15 days). fertilitysocks - so glad you stopped by! i'm praying that your little frostie is a sticky sticky one! don't let go of the dream.... ever! when they say "i'm sorry" you say "thank you" - and smile. that's all. hopeful - i'm sorry your m/s is so bad! i hope you get relief soon. i am praying that i don't get it! my mom didn't have any... is it genetic??? mery - my tush is numb now too! well actually it's sore. i never had to do PIO before - we always did supps... but now i see everyone's pain! chodori's - that's great! we have leftover meds too and i am planning on giving them to a friend in NY this summer! holding - i've been craving YOGURT! which is SO weird, because i hate yogurt! but it's all i thinkabout! i made a yogurt parfait... vanilla yogurt, granola, sliced strawberries and blackberries and i can't wait to eat it! afm, i'm sad about possibly losing baby B. i keep telling him that he's got to be a fighter just like his daddy. my DH was in a bad accident 2 months before we got married... and they said they didn't think he'd make it. but he defied all odds and made it... and i cried and cried and cried at our wedding bceause i knew that day almost didn't happen. i want little baby B to be a fighter just like his daddy and prove everyone wrong!

Maybe - you have me in tears!! I was telling hubby about you and baby B...I showed him your sono and last night when we prayed he said a prayer for you and your baby. He's got to be a fighter.
I did not know if the state is a mandatory that the insurance co could choose not to offer it... martha - glad you are resting! Fertilitysocks - we had one left too...it was our completely last shot...don't lose faith! I know it's easier said then done, but it is healthy to be mad...you need to go through it to heal.
