Mery, I will be on house arrest basically...in the begining I will be able to leave the house for a movie or for a small amount of time. as I get further along I am sure I will be up less and less...It will be worth it in the end..i am doing everything I can to avoid hospital bedrest. I was there 2 months last year, with absolutely NO getting out of bed.. I was upside down and did not ever shower, except sponge baths and I had an awesome nurse who would wash my hair once a week...So getting to potty on my own this time, will be a real treat...lol I have the same thing with red meat, it totally grosses me out...shrimp and chicken when I can stomach it...and I am too hungry all the time...I was just sitting at my desk wondering what to eat next...lol

Hello ladies.
Cathi: I didn't realize that once you have a cerclage you have to be on a modified bed rest.... That sucks, but we do whatever we need to do. Mery: I am always hungry too, and as a result I have gained more weight this time around. I really don't want to gain a lot more, because that's trouble at the end ![]() afm: I went to my appt today. The NT is perfect and there is minimal worries about Down. What they are worried is the virus I got. I will be checked again at 18 weeks and depending on what they find then, I will be checked once a week or once every two weeks for 8 weeks after that. They said that there is nothing that can be done right now. That chances of miscarriage for the next 12 weeks are 10%. Kind of high and it freaks me out. They told me that I am out of the woods on Sept 11th (how ironic)... Once I get to that point I should be free to go. Well, I hate that, I will spend the next 3 months worrying about my pregnancy. Then I will have the last trimester (which sucks either way) to be happy about this kid. Not fair! Anyway, I am sure everything will be fine, but I am worrying a little! ![]() Have a great day everyone.

northeastgirl - i am so very happy your scan went well today..phew! because of the fifth disease you have a 10% chance of miscarriage, which means to me, there is a 90% chance that everything is going to be fine. i know you would rather it be 100%, but you are being monitored so closely that they are not going to let anything slip through the cracks. 12 weeks, you can do it. just think, we just had 12 weeks pass by pretty fast, so it will go by fast too. i know you are a positive thinker and that will pull you through this! i know you will be worrying, and i think all of us would...but just remember, you are in good hands and are going to be just fine!! just think next year at this time you will have another beautiful child and this will all be in the past!!

Cathi - I know it will be hard being on bedrest (I'm going crazy with headaches keeping me in bed), but you are so right about it being worth it.
Northeast girl - I know it will be hard the next several weeks, but it's definately good they will be monitering you so closely! Mery - I've been told to try and make sure you have protein with each meal and this is suppose to help. I've eaten apples with peanut butter and still starving as soon as I'm done. I don't really have a great suggestion, but that's what I've been told. So I had a migraine on Thursday and had to call my pcp doc. They wrote me a note, but they won't fax the notes, so I still have to drive 30 mins out of the way to get the note. They did tell me on Friday when I picked up the note that they will write me a note any and everytime I'm out. The doctor thinks it's rediculous, but he'll do it. On Friday we went down to the doc's to get the note and on the way back, well let's just say I didn't make it back to work. My POOR HUBBY! He was driving thank God! He's taken away my driving priveliages after yesterday. Well here goes, he was eating his lunch and driving. I had finished eating and I felt SICK! I've felt this sick before and not thrown up, but I went ahead and grabbed the mcdonalds bag and had it in my lap. The next thing we know I'm tossing up the lunch (not good a second time). There was no place he could pull over and mcdonalds bags, don't hold up very well. Well once he was able to pull over he opened my door and I dropped the bag and all on the ground. He had to unbuckle me and I finished my business on the side of the road. I've been pretty sick lately. People keep asking if the m/s is getting better and I say well yes and no. The yes part is I don't have it all day long anymore, but the no part is I'm more sick when I do get sick! I only ate half my breakfast this morning it was so bad. We now carry trash bags in the car just in case. The reason my hubby won't let me drive is because I told him about feeling that way before and not throwing up, so I wouldn't have even known I needed to pull over. So my hubby brought me home and I cleaned myself up and went to bed. While I was laying there my tummy started to grawl, I laughed at my tummy and told it like heck I'm gonna give you more food. I eventually broke down and ate chicken noodle soup. I hope everyone is doing good. I am taking it easy this weekend, so hopefully things will stay down. It will be so worth it when this is all over. Oh and even though I grossed my hubby out yesterday he was rather entertained too because when I up it's pretty violent and my whole body reacts, according to my hubby my feet were flaring out and kicking while I was busy. He's twisted! Happy Weekend Ya'll.

Happy Monday Everyone!
I hope everyone has a good week. I pretty much spent the weekend in bed. I did get out and see the movie The Proposal, it was cute and my hubby even enjoyed it. I'm optomistically cautionous today that I might have a good one. I actually woke up Headache free for the first time in two weeks! I'm so excited. I hope everyone else has a good week. Looks like we are going to have rain everyday this week here, but Maybe sun over the 4th! Anyone with exciting plans?

Good Morning Everyone
holding - glad you are headache free !! Sorry about your trip with hubby...I id not have any vomiting at all so I do not know what it's like, but I feel for you! martha - oh no sorry you have a headache...me too..read that they are common...not a good sign. Get some good books and movies for you bed rest stint. Northeast - glad your scan went well...sounds like you are in very good hands! you and your little one are in my prayers! I hope you all have a great week-end! I am doing ok...had a super bad headache yesterday and swollen hands and feet. I just took it easy yesterday, but think I did too much on Saturday. I also got myself way too upset on Saturday....as you know my MIL lives with us and I feel that she does not do enough to help out around the house. I work all week, long days sometimes, and yes she does cook, nothing gourmet or long for her to make, sometimes I get things I so do not like. But I would think she would help with some other things...she can't vacuum, cause it gives her diahrea cause the vacuum is to heavy (ah yea right) she does not dust at all except her room, does not sweep the kitchen or clean the bathroom at all. Now we do not have a "palatial palace". She is home all day all week...crumbs on the floor are from her, toilet paper roll not changed from her, paper towel roll not changed from her too...It just got to me on Saturday...I went food shopping and she asked if I needed help after I brought all the packages in...maybe I'm just hormonal, but I feel that she should help. Me and hubby are out of the house from 6am to about 7pm everyday. I know when it was just us we did not have the mess we have now. Hubby is getting out of work early today so he is going to have a chat with her today...we will see what happens. Have a great day all!!

Hopeful: I feel for you. My mother was with us for 4 months after the birth of my DD. I DO love my mother, but after all those months, I was ready for her to Leave!!! I can't imagine having someone with us for good. I would go crazy. So, I really feel for you. Good luck with the talk today!
Holding: I am glad you don't have a headache today. I have been getting headaches on/off lately, and they are not fun. Thank goodness that they don't last forever. I usually have them for about a couple of hours a day, and then they go away... Cathi: So sorry you had to take a day off because of headaches. At least you can spend sometime at home just relaxing. I am thinking about staying at home as well. After everything that has been going on with my pregnancy, they thought of staying at home is in my head more and more. I haven't decided anything, but I am really thinking about it. I am doing fine otherwise. I am still very upset about the whole deal with the Virus that I contracted, but there is nothing that I can do. So I try to take is as easy as I can. Another thing that really does not help the situation is the weather.... This June has been one of the worst I have seen. I think that the sun has been out a total of maybe 5 days all month long. Not very good for my emotional stability ![]() Anyway, hope everyone is having a great day. Have fun...

holding - so glad no headache today..that is wonderful news! i hope your day continues headache free! that stinks about mc donalds..poor girl!! let's hope that doesn't happen again!
cathi - REST TODAY! i hope your headache is getting better and that you feel better soon! enjoy your days until bedrest comes and get lots of stuff to read so your days go by fast! hopeful - oh my..i am so sorry for that stress that you are going through...you really do not need it right now. i too would be upset. when i was off work for a year, i would always have house spick and span before DH came home, it's the least i could do. i know it's sticky situation because she is your MIL, but still...she needs to do her part! a friend of mine dealt with this her pregnancy and went into labor at 24 weeks because she was so stressed....so make sure you get this handled because you need to enjoy your pregnancy! good luck and let us know how it goes! northeastgirl - i think that it is a good idea for you to stay home. you do have a ton going on and do not need any added stress! you will make the call that is right for you! i'm sorry the weather sucks..that does not help..it's actually warming up here in so cal, so thank goodness, i will pray for sun for you too!!!! afm - have any of you been having pains in your tummy...mine are sharp and come and go, like on the side of my belly button? i just read that right now our tummies are stretching and that is why you get pains here and there..just wondering if anyone else had them too. i am also going through u/s withdrawls! this is the first week in probably 4 months that i have not had some kind of appointment! that part is nice, but missing u/s and monitoring. i am soooo glad it's another short week! YEAH!! we swam this weekend and it felt so good...also walked both days..just trying to get myself back into a little exercise routine. m/s is pretty much gone, expect for after dinner sometimes!! hope you all have a wonderful rest of the day!!!!

Hi mery
I too have been having twinges here and there lately...I read too that the tummy is stretching and it causes the slight pains. I of course freaked out at first but you kinda get used to them. I've been trying to walk a little bit...to release some bad energy .... I am glad you have a short week...we were supposed to be off on Friday but I work in a bank and we are open !hubby spoke with MIL today and he said she got defensive at first but them said she would do more to help...we will see how that goes...you know I am usually a laid back person but there is more to it too..today hubby's nephew and MIL grandson came by, now he's 21 and eats like a piggy...I do not care that he eats over but it goes back to another issue that she says I do not buy enough food...well if you have him come over 2-3 times a week yea we will not have enough...if I know he's coming I always buy more...I think and hope she realizes that we feed him too as well as her...we will see what happens this week-end!

Holding-Oh, I am so sorry about the Mickey D's incedent...my DH would probably laugh about it too...men are so goofy!
Northeastgirl-I am glad your NT scan went well! It does seem that the worrying never ends through all of this...I'm sure everything will be just fine though. Hopeful-sorry about your MIL...I hope she straightens up her act b/c you don't need any more stress! Cathi- Hope you feel better today Mery- I feel little pains in my tummy too. Swimming sounds sooo nice! I wish we had a pool. I had my last RE appt. today...it was so sad to leave them. They have been so great! My u/s went great and the babies were moving like crazy! I have only gained 2 pounds, but I feel huge. I went maternity clothes shopping today...Gap Maternity had almost all of their clothes on sale...I bought a bunch of cute things. I was invited to a Mothers of Multiples meeting tonite, which sounds like a good resource and place to meet other mutiples moms, but I am so stinking tired, I don't know if I'll make it.

Hopeful12...I am so sorry to hear about that with MIL. I'm a super neat freak...you sound like a very patient person. My friends laugh at me because they say that once the baby is born, I can't be so neat...we'll see about that.
NorthEastGirl...For some reason, the weather up north has been off. Down south, we have been going through a heat wave. I'm keeping my fingers cross that we will have a quiet hurricane season. Mery71...Yes, I've been having those pains myself. At night, if I roll to my side quickly, I get a sharp pain. Also, if I sneeze, I cramp. It feels like the baby is telling me to stop. As for my exercise routine, I'm back on my 3 mile walks with hubby. It took me awhile to get back into it. Holdingmybreath...How is everything going? I felt so bad reading about your McDonalds/car ride nightmare. Your DH sounds super sweet. As for my eating, I am finally getting back my somewhat normal appetite. But, I do notice that I'm eating smaller meals, but eating every 2 hours. |
