I thought it was good too, but the genetisist was saying it should be closer to 1/270...doc did not seem overly concerned (he's so good to me he picked up right away when I called the office today). He said he's seen worse....he said the numbers are not bad. I wonder sometimes if they just try to get money for the tests...I told her I was NOT having an amnio...end of story, but she was so pushy! When I called the peri's office back the nurse told me don't worry she sees it all the time...We will see next Wednesday

hopeful - i think you are right...we told our OB upfront that no way we are doing the amnio and he said that was great...he said it was really up to hubby and i. and, with the amnio i've read alot of times they have false positives, negatives, etc. go with your gut, and wait until after the u/s to see. i know you are just fine!!! they told my friend at work that her dd was going to be born with ds and other defects and guess what...she was perfect. she was a preemie, but a perfect preemie! i think odds that are less than 1% are pretty darn good if you ask me!!!

hopeful - your right..sometimes too much info is just not good at this point. my ob told me if I have any questions, to please call him and not consult the internet because of all the negative info. i haven't and i think it's kept me more sane!

I agree with you guys. Too much info sometimes is too much, especially if you are not going to be doing anything with it. Do what you want to do. Nobody can force you to have an amnio...

The only correction I want to make, is that once you do an amnio, whatever comes back is 99.99% correct. If a disease is detected, then you have to decide what you would do... We were offered to do an amnio with my DD but we refused. We wouldn't do anything with the info anyway!!!

Hopeful, I would say that less than 1% chance is pretty low!

Wow you ladies have been busy today. I can't believe 3 of you are having anatomy scans on the same day. Mine is Aug 12th. We were told they don't do them before week 20 and that's the week I'm at 20.

Cathi - That's awesome about the sick pool. I worked for a police department for 6 years and we talked about getting a pool together, but we were told we couldn't because it would have to be open to all the city employees. I did love how I could float all my holidays and match them with my sick and vacation time. It made it seem like I had much more time off then normal.

Martha - I would agree with everyone else you need to get another opinion. I do like all that Cathi suggested.

Northeast girl - that's awesome about the only two days a week, but sucks about not having benefits.

Hopeful - I understand what you mean about not having much space. Our last house the master bedroom was 19 X 19 (the size of our two car garage) I couldn't fill it furniture. Now we are in a VERY SMALL home compared to that one and I'm afraid I'm going to upset one dog when I move her bed inorder to put the bassinet near my bed. We can't even remotely fit our current furniture in this room let alone something new.

Mery - that's awesome you have a friend due around you. If it wasn't for you guys I wouldn't know anyone due when I'm or around me.

I agree with ya'll too much information isn't always a good thing. We have choosen not to have any testing done. We basically told the ob that we wouldn't end the pregnancy no matter what the tests showed, so we didn't want them. Also, I didn't want to have a test that made me worry or stress anymore than I may or may not now.

We are doing good. I didn't really have m/s today, but did get a headache by the end of the day. I can't wait until I no longer have to work. We close on the house on Aug 4th and hopefully will know better tomorrow about how much money we have to come up with before the closing. After the house is closed then we have to work hard to catch up the bills that are getting behind in this process. Then it will be time for the baby and no more working (at least in the 8 to 5 sense, I'm sure I'll have lots of work with the baby).

Holding---- Yeah our sick leave is only for sworn it is in out union contract. It is awesome. We have had a few officers use it for car accidents and cancer. it really takes the stress out of needing time off. W do have floating holidays which is very nice, even our birthday is a holiday. That and comp time, I always have a ton of time off, well until now

I also agree with everyone here about the testing. I agreed to do the NT scan and blood work, but that is it...this could be it for me because of my crapy cervix... So far everything is normal...Hopeful...1% is very small, I am sure everything is just fine..

Morning everyone!

holding - my room is not too bad I think I can get the crib in, but not a dresser/changing table...We were all set with our two bedroom until MIL moved in...she said something about putting the crib in her room...uhhh I don't think so...we need a house....and we know it will take some time, but we are going to do what we can. My mom and dad are getting the baby furniture for us and my mom does not just want to get the crib she wants to get the dresser and maybe an amoir, but where canI put it...maybe things will change...we'll see.

northeast - I am way too afraid of the amnio and knew from the start it was a no go. I kinda feel like if I didn't do the test I wouldn't be thinking about it. I am in NY and someone told me that the NT is now mandatory...I dunno how true it is.

I was so exhausted last night I passed out on the couch waiting for hubby to come home...ate a tiny bit and off to bed I went. I slept until 4...then I got this nudging in my lower right side...it woke me up...I think the buga wanted me to turn over...it was the craziest thing. I am not going to stress the test results...I so regret now getting this test done. It is making me a little crazy but whatever it is it is...we would not terminate, we discussed this with my obour first visit...I am sure everything is fine...I look it that I get to see my buga more now...Doc is thinking sonos every two weeks for now.

northeastgirl - you are so right..nobody can force us to do anything!! we all have been through alot so we will do what we will! how are you feeling? is your m/s completely gone now???

holding - i wish i could say i didn't have to work! i hope the house sale is as smooth as can be for you and dh. it will all be worth it for you. i was talking to hubby last night and told him i just want to work part time after the baby and he said that was fine...i am SOOO happy about that!!! headaches suck...it seems i get one every morning now, but tylenol seems to be doing the trick for me.

cathi - that sick leave is sooo awesome..you are very fortunate!!

hopeful - i know the baby is just fine! really..i have no doubts at all!!! and you're right...if you get to see the little buga every two weeks, then that is very cool! the room situation will work out...things always seem to fall into place.

afm - i tossed and turned last night...just couldn't get comfortable..even with my snoogle pillow! i was exhausted last night too, maybe because it's so fricking hot here!! the a/c in our building here at work is not working that great, and it is miserable in the afternoons and just draining all my energy! i hope it is fixed soon. i just wish i could be at home today in the cool a/c!!!

Hi Girls! I am still without internet at work, so I will try to catch up at home... I called the Peri's office and they will only work with my OB, so I called OB and he thinks there is no reason to go before 20 weeks. My next u/s is in about 2.5 weeks, so I am going to beg for a referral when I see him, and if he won't give me one, he's history.

Cathi- Thank you for the info. You have been very helpful! The triplet connection website is awesome.

Holding- I hope everything goes perfectly with your house selling. I know you will be so relieved when it is done!

Hopeful- Don't worry about your sono...those odds sound really great to me! I agree that your dilemma with the furniture will work itself out! We will have all 3 babies in one pretty small room, so it will be kinda tight, but babies are little, right?

Mery- I'm sorry you didn't sleep well. I hope tonite is better for you! I actually overslept this morning, which was kinda nice for a change! I usually wake up so early.

Northeast- I hope you are able to sleep better too!

Mery - hope you had a better night's sleep!
They need t fix the a/c...it is not good for you to be in there when it is too hot.

marthac - I don't understand why he won't give you the referral..it's in yours and the babies best interest that you go...my ob and peri actually teach at the hospital together so they work hand in hand in my care...

martha - i would get a new doc if they do not get you in to the peris office. alot is going on in there with your little babies, so you need to have the right kind of doctor! maybe you should call him again before the 2.5 weeks and tell him your concerns. do you still have your m/s? i bet your tummy is getting big!

hopeful - i did sleep much better last night...what a difference. the a/c is a bit better in here, but not to where it needs to be. my ankles are very swollen at the end of the day and i know the heat does not help it!

afm - well, there are a few people sick here at work with colds, two went home, but one sits right near me. it's so rude that you would come to work so sick. they can take meds, if i get sick, i cannot take a thing. i pray i do not get sick.

how is everyone else doing???

Mery: I really hope that these people will go home... I don't understand why people go to work when they are that sick! I hope you don't get it...
How was the A/C last night? Any better?

Hopeful: What a cute story about your baby.... I have been feeling rolling and some movement, but really not that much kicking yet. I can't wait for that...

martha: I agree with you and changing Dr. if you don't get a referral. Triplets are a very high risk pregnancy, so you have to monitored very closely!

afm, I am very tired. I was outside cleaning our pool. Our little robot broke and we are waiting for a part. In the mean time I had to clean it, so that we can go in. I can't wait... My DD is napping at the moment. When she gets up, we'll both go in!

Also, today I had my OB appt. Everything is going well. He took blood for the quad screening. I will find out in about a week. I am excited about that. I just want to make sure everything is ok....

Have a great day everyone.

northeastgirl - i am glad all went well today at your appointment. they took my blood for the screening too last friday so i just want to know everything is OK too!! cleaning the pool does not sound like fun, but the end result is so worth it. we love having our own pool too...we went in last night because it was so hot still...it felt like a bath! it is most hot in the office in the afternoon, and it is hot again today! i bought a fan and that is helping some! enjoy your swim with DD...can she float...or does she use floaties? do you have a gate around your pool, or the net? i think we are getting a gate.

I had a doctors appt yesterday it's confirmed.... we are having a GIRL!!!! we are so excited... it is one perk about going to a high risk dr you get to find out early.

Martha, I would call and demand to see the peri...by 20 weeks, my cervix had already started to shorten...by 20 weeks I already started having contractions. by 21w 4 days I was in full labor and dialated to 7...things happen very quickly.....
