Leigh I changed your date in our list - woo-hoo, sooner than I thought!

Midum glad to hear you are feeling well and keeping busy. I totally agree that keeping busy is key!! The less time to obsess, the better. I am already booking things to keep me busy from now until mid-July :lol

wanna I agree with you about POAS. I have none in the house and won't be buying any this time around. If I do get a positive beta though, I probably will go buy one b/c I just love to see those two happy lines I still have mine saved in my nightstand from my daughter's IVF!!

Leigh, I change the estrogen patches every-other day. I also will gradually increase from 1 patch to 4, and then decrease down to 2 which I'll keep using right through the beta (and afterward if it's positive!) I am kind of wondering where I'm going to stick four of them - they are pretty small, but I'm also supposed to be rotating and not putting them in the exact same spot when I switch them, and they all are supposed to go on the lower abdomen!

Sorry to butt in here, I know I am late in the game but I was doing research on my upcoming FET and I came across your thread and I was wondering if it is too late to join in. My transfer date is coming up on June 18th and this will be my first post to this site. I have been out of the game for 2 years and I am going back to use up my 5 babysicles that are left.

First off congrats to some of you that I can already see have positive results. That is wonderful news….. Just a note, if addictive to HPT sticks might want to check the dollar store in your area, the one by me sells them. Last IVF I bought 8 of them at one time and the look on the cashier’s face was priceless and was just the laugh I needed at the time..

I feel like a “seasoned professional” in the IVF world. I promised myself this time I was not going to get too wrapped up in the experience and try to take it easy and relax since I have already been blessed with 2 beautiful girls via this game of modern science, but that is easier said then done.

Here is a little bit about me:

History before IVF—too long to list but 6 years of TTC, Clomid, IUI, etc.

Diagnosis--PCOS and Lupus

1/2003 IVF#1—retrieved 24, transferred 2 beautiful Grade A blast. Too stupid to freeze anything because this was suppose to work on the first time—right?!?!— surprise BFN

4/2003 IVF#2—18 retrieved, 12 fertilized, transferred 3, nothing made it to freeze---BFP but miscarried at 12 weeks.

7/2003 IVF#3—Bust. OHSS could not transfer and pushed embryos to day 5 to freeze and nothing looked good enough to freeze, so nothing….

10/2003 IVF#4---22 retrieved, 22 fertilized, 4 transferred—BFN (but was able to freeze 12)

01/2004 FET#1—transferred, BFP, but miscarried at 7 weeks.

06/2004 FET#2—Had 8 left in the freezer (the bottom of the barrel as I like to call them). Doc was pushing to discard so I could start a new cycle with PGD testing and insurance would only cover if no frozen remained. I told him to thaw all and he advised to put in 6 because he had such little hope. BFP First words doc said to me when my pregnancy test came back positive was “don’t go painting the nursery yet, I don’t think this will come to term” because my embryo quality was so bad and he thought this was a “fluke” and I would end up miscarrying again. —My beautiful “bottom of the barrel” is now a healthy happy, sassy 4 year old girl Gwennyth (which means awaited miracle, found it fitting) born 2/9/2005. Glad I proved him wrong…… Sometimes you just have to follow your instinct.

After Gwenn I decided if she was to ever have a sibling we better get a move on.

6/2006 IVF#5—Original clinic lost my file, I got so mad I went to a new RE and had to try to remember my history and start over. Good thing. 10 retrieved, 2 transferred, 5 to freeze. BFP. My sweet little Gianna came 2 years and 1 week after my first was born 2/16/2007

***just to give some hope to anyone who might get a low beta. My first beta with Gianna was 21-11 DP3DT going to 71-13DP3DT. Finally at 19DP3DT my #’s stopped doubling, they were still going up but only ½ of what they were suppose to. RE thought I was miscarrying or she did not implant in the right spot. He wanted to go in laproscopically to remove the pregnancy because he didn’t think it was “normal” and still at 26 DP3DT could not locate a HB. I asked him to hold off for 2 more days and repeat the US and then I would agree to the surgery. Told me to bring a packed bag to the hospital when I went for the US and they would just do the surgery after. Glad I had him hold off, a little late in the game but at 28 DP3DT, I saw the most beautiful little flicker ever. Carried her to term and she is as perfect as she could be (and still as stubborn as she was in the beginning).

Sorry for the long post….

Gina - you are too organized! Thx for keeping track of us all!

Erica - - this is a great group for support - and I know all about trying to tell yourself not to get too invested, but in the end you really just cannot help it. Think we're all in the same boat on that one. Cannot get over you stories of your RE and your pregnancy - just goes to show you, your instinct is almost always the right one.

Leigh - thx for asking about my sono, went this morning actually and did bloodwork and the sonogram. RE says the lining looks really good - at 1.3cmm right now - he says that anything over 10mm is great so I left there feeling pretty good. Just waiting for the call with the bloodwork results this afternoon to give us the green light to start the Progesterone and Prometrium on Saturday. Can't believe it's right around the corner, next Friday already - wow, time flies!

One question for the group - during my fresh cycle which was in March I started with the Progesterone in Oil shots but was having a lot of discomfort so they switched my oil to the Ethyl Oleate which was much better but I still have soreness on my right side - 3 months later! I feel it when I run or rub that side. Anyone else had long lasting soreness from the PIO shots?

Thx and hope everyone is well!

I did but it's lighter bfp, they are getting darker I think I am going to the ER to get a beta and because I have a history of ectopics so I want to make sure it's in the right place.

Gina-- Thank you for your welcome. Yes, girls are good. I have always been very open about my fertility path, but this time I choose not to tell anyone except for my DH of course (and now all of you girls on the post ) for the simple fact that I am so tired of people saying "Oh, you want to try for the boy". It makes me so angry that people who know what you went thorough still have the audacity to think I would want anything other then just a healthy baby. My clinic does run at 75% ratio on the girls so I will be elated to bring on the pink one last time..... Even the dog in our house is a girl. I'd say poor DH but I know he loves having all the ladies in the house.

Shari--Thank you for your welcome and your kind words. I was on a board on a different site with my last IVF and this group does seem like a much closer group for support then the last. I have been watching the posts for a while and you guys seems like a good group who truly carries about one another's interests.

PolarBaby--I read part of your blog and while reading it brought back a flood of emotions from the past that I had forgotten were still there. I want to thank you for that, people think I am crazy for saying this but I never want to forget what I went through, it helps me keep life in perspective. Please know that what you have done in documenting your journey is probably helping more women the you could ever imagine. I hate when people say "I know what you are going through" because I don't feel anyone one person can truly know another's feelings and emotions, but I can truly relate to your story. I can remember a time in my life when I had little hope, lots of anger, and it truly sucks. I truly hope that yours and everyone else's journey on here comes to a happy end very soon, you all deserve nothing more then what should be just one of "life's natural processes".

And about the PIO shots I do remember having lumps/knots for a few months after I stopped the shots the last time. They did eventually go away but I remember them being there for a while, I never had any pain or discomfort but after a while I think my tush just went numb )

OK, got a few questions since I have been out of this for 3 years now and I think you guys are much more up on the process right now (amazing how much can change in such a short time):
it
--What is the gig with the pineapple? I have read this on other posts but I don't remember a buzz about it last time I did FET. What is it suppose to do and how much is suggested, etc?

--This time around my RE did not suggest aspirin, is aspirin considered old school or are other docs still recommending it? I have been taking it out of habit, but just curious.

--How much rest time after the transfer are your docs suggesting? Mine said 2 days but I didn't do that in the past.

Sorry I forgot to add , as you can all tell by now--I can ramble....

wannabeamommy-Thank you for the welcome

zmamma--if it will put your mind at ease, don't hesitate to go to the ER for a beta or to call your doc to get a script for one. All you are requesting is for a simply blood test that any lab can do and no doc should heistite or have a prolbem ordering it for you, it's not like you are going in asking for them to transplant a kidney. go, go, go and hopefully it will give you some peace of mind whihc is totally what you need at this stage.

No hubbie talked me out of it but something so weird happened at 4:20 am, I went to restroom and saw one red spot in panties so I freaked and left for ER and on the way I prayed heavily and then turned around and went to cvs and bought test (answers) and tested again and it's still positive so I will be going to ER for sure when I get off today! But hubbie said the nurse to hold it's normal in early pg as long as it's not heavy. Now it's like creamy brownish and not enough to fill panty liner. So I am okay now cause it's gone away.
