z_momma keep us updated

Erica that is interesting that your clinic has 75% chance of girls! I wonder why that would be? I do seem to notice a lot of girls via fertility treatments but that could just be because I have one so I tend to "see" it more, you know? Anyhow I for one would be thrilled with a 2nd girl - just never had a sister myself and would love one for DD. That said, a boy would certainly be a wonderful blessing as well. Any baby at all would thrill me

I am doing aspirin. Funny enough, the nurse didn't mention it when we reviewed the protocol earlier this week on the phone, but since it was on the paperwork I asked and she said go ahead with it. Basically she just said they believe it increases blood flow to the uterus so can't hurt. I'm taking one 81mg chewable each night.

My doc said no rest time needed. I'm planning to try to rest the day of, and actually will work the next two days which is better for me than being home b/c it means I won't have to lift DD for two days!

MrsReady2bMama - funny thing- I am wearing white shorts today.LOL

z_momma - lots of to you.

Erica - last time my doc suggested 2days bed rest. Hubby is going to take leave this time also so I will be doing the same. I dont work so after that I 'll just take it easy at home.I believe asprin is to increase blood flow to uterus. I was on asprin last time and it prescribed to me this time also.

Hello! Saw the string on mothering.com and this one as well. Hoping to join you ladies as I am a little FET crazy at the moment (being totally slow at work today doesnt help ..hee hee)

I have a 15mo DS from fresh IVF in 2007. Have 4 frozen blasts from that same cycle and am hoping to transfer two around 6/30. Anxiously awaiting AF to come (should have been here yesterday so hoping it comes today). About to leave for a brisk 3 mile walk. No idea whether exercise will help bring it on, but thought I would give it a shot.

Glad to have found this site and this thread. :-)

Hi everybody! It's been a while - sorry!

Sweetpea, KSM17, ClovesA, and EricaS -

We're becoming a big little group!

zmomma - You did it, sister! You're !! Don't worry about the brown spotting. As long as it's brown or pink, it's fine. Congratulations!!

Midum - Good for you for letting your anniversary come first before POAS. I think that's a wise choice. We don't go through this mess alone (though it sure feels like we take the brunt of it!), so cherish each other for the day! Hang in there! Thanks also for the encouragement re: my little 3-dayers. Hope they're strong!

ClovesA - I hate waiting for AF, but it was better than being on the BCPs! Seriously hate those things.

EricaS - Wow, what a history! It's inspiring! Don't mean to be nosy, but how did you afford so many rounds? I did one IVF and this coming FET and I'm BROKE. I'm also too old to be accepted into shared risk, so I don't know how to afford a further round!

Leigh66 - Here come the PIO shots! Woo hoo! Good times. I didn't mind them so much and can do them myself, but my rear-end did bruise pretty good.

Shari - Good for you for monitoring your stress level and making an effort to bring it down. I've been trying to do that, too. I supervise people at work and there are days where I seriously think I'm babysitting instead!

KSM, Solange, and MrsReady - Congrats on AF. Hallmark should make greeting card for IVFers. Hey! You got your period! Let's celebrate! Maybe cards with sound and a dancing POAS with two lines. I should start making them now. Then maybe I could afford another round of this crap.

Polarbaby - You still crack me up. Just watching you push zmomma to POAs was making me laugh. Do it. Do it. Do it. Now do it everyday until beta!

wannabemommmy - I'm going to do a dance to bring on AF for you. I have no superpowers, but here goes . . .

Hope you're all doing good! I'll try to do a better job of reporting in. Just got buried with getting a new server installed at work. It's a scary process when you're responsible for the data! Nothing new here - next U/S set for 6/17. I'm now doing two Estrace tabs (one pill, twice a day), one Lupron shot, and acupuncture. Next week I'll jump to three estrace and see the Doc.

Think positive!!

Hi ladies!

Mrs. Ready- Thank you, thank you, thank you for keeping up with everyone's dates. Wow, we do have a busy month. I'm so excited for everybody. I will be rooting for all of you!!!

Shari- My last IVF, I remembered it did take a few months for the soreness to go away from the PIO shots. Last IVF I received the injections in the buttocks. Has anyone done IM injections in the thigh? If so, is it better?

Midum -so far, so good with my protocol. DH will administer my first PIO injection this evening when he gets home. I feel sooooo bloated. My last Lupron shot ends on Friday, yippee.

Erica S--Welcome, Welcome!!!! Wow, you are a real trooper. I just read your signature and you have a wonderful and amazing journey. I'm like you, I didn't tell most of those who knew about my last IVF. I just get tired of having to explain about this or that. Some people just don't "get it".

Polar baby- Look like you and I are on the same date! RE said FET most likely will be June 16th. I'm not sure yet. I have been eating pineapple since Monday.

Z-momma-- I'm glad you are feeling better. I'm so happy for you.. Sounds like implantation symptoms you are having. Just take it easy and stay busy until beta time.

CloverA- Sure you can join us!!! The more, the merrier. I look foward to reading your journey. We are here for you.

AFM-- Thawing takes place tomorrow sometime. I will let you know how the embies are doing. I should know something Friday. I would love to POAS but I will be going away for a few days June 24th-28th. It's our anniversary weekend. Beta is 12 days after ET which will be the day I come back. We will be few hours away from home that day. If I POAS before I leave to go away and it's negative, this will ruin my trip for me and DH. I want to enjoy our time away. We waited a year for this. RE says to take it easy day of ET but not strict bedrest. I plan to be in the bed this day. My vacation starts June 20th-28th and I can't wait!!! I sending prayers and positive thoughts to all of us...

Leigh

Hi Ladies!

Welcome to everyone new -- I love our growing group!

Z-momma -- I'm looking up to you and hoping to follow in your footsteps! I wish I had some implantation symptoms, but not feeling much of anything... maybe slightly sore breasts, and feeling a little bit in a daze

Leigh -- how exciting that your thaw is tomorrow! Will be thinking of you and your embies tomorrow and sending lots of positive vibes.

Erica -- thank you for sharing your story -- it gives me hope, and i think it's awesomme that after all you have been through, you have been blessed with two children and now going for a third! I wish you all the best this month and look forward to hearing about your bfp!

My RE didn't recommend any bedrest but I did it anyway over the weekend. After that, I was back full swing at my busy job. The PIO shots have been a bit more painful for me this time around too. I feel like I might have some scar tissue in that area. I did PIO shots for 8 weeks with my m/c, then again with my 2nd IVF, and turned around and doing them again this month for FET. Hopefully it will all be worth it!

Wishing all you ladies -- this is going to be our month!

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies! I can already tell that this is a great group! Very lucky to have found you.

I am still awaiting AF. What the heck is going on? Should be here by now. Maybe my anticipation is holding it off... Just wish it would come so much!

Erica - I know how you feel. I get asked by people all the time whether or not I am going to test the embryos and find out if they are boys or girls. I could never do that. As if I would discard one of my precious hard-fought-for embryos just because of their gender! If I am lucky enough to have the two they are going to take out survive the thaw then they both go in. Plain and simple.

In answer to your questions, my RE is having me take baby aspirin and he recommends three days of bed rest post transfer. Also, he makes you give up all caffeine and alcohol the month prior to transfer. He is strict, but he has the highest success rates around so I cant exactly contradict him. Regarding the pineapple, there is a chemical in it that may help with implantation. I went through IVF two years ago and I remember there was a buzz about the pineapple back then. It wasnt something my RE gave much credence to, but it couldnt hurt and I like pineapple anyway.

Gina - when I read your posts on this sight and mothering.com I was amazed at all the parallels we have. How cool to find someone in such a similar situation!

I start accupuncture next week and will be eating the pineapple again. I did both those things (along with meditations from a CD I bought that is specifically for IVF) and I was blessed with my little boy so I will be doing it all this time as well.

My heart are with all you ladies whose transfers are soon approaching and my heart is with you who are in the TWW!

- Crislyn

Good Morning ladies,
Well I wanted to give you all an update. I went to ER early am 12:45 because I thought I was getting a reaction to the pio due to me welping up and getting real puffy and hard as a rock! It just freaked me out. But anyway the admitted me into hospital to look further and they checked my white count (CBC), Chem7, and of Course my BETA(yeah) 120! So it's progressing nicely. I am getting released right now and then heading to my doctors office.

Gina--Yes I think it is odd too that their girl ratio is so high, I do not know the stats from other clinics. Nurse said that the XX embryo's tend to be stronger, not sure why, but I have heard that before too, just never did any research on it. I think I will stay on the aspirin then. They did not mention it this time but I did not question it either. Just wasn't sure if they found something negative about it since I have been on hiatus.

wannabe--thanks. I took 2 days off of work but I think I am more dangerous at home then I am at work. At least at work I will sit still for more then 10 minutes. It's funny how there is still so much discrepancy on bed rest between RE's.

Julianne--I do not mind the question at all. I live in Illinois where these is a insurance mandate that states as long as your company HQ is in the state and your company employ at least 50 people, companies must offer fertility coverage to their employees. With that said my husband is a police officer for a very large county out here and although he will never be a millionaire the county is very generous with their coverage on their medical plans. If it wasn't for the great coverage he has, things would most likely be very different. We have no deductable to meet, $10 co-pay per cycle, $7 prescription co-pay. The only things I need to pay OOP for is freezing or any experimental drugs I have used like Viagra, etc. His insurance covers 4 IVF treatments. If a pregnancy occurs during 1 of those 4 cycles and you carry to term you get 2 remaining IVF's. For example, if you have a baby on IVF#1 then you get 2 more IVF's covered for a total of 3 IVF's. FET was considered part of the IVF#4 process then I got an additional 2 IVF's making my cycles covered for a total of up to 6. Since insurance covers the expense I have no option but to use all of my frozen up before starting a fresh round because the insurance will not begin to pay for another fresh round of IVF if any frozen remain Technically I have one more IVF attempt that would be covered by my insurance if I choose to use it but I think after my frozen are used up I am calling it quits. On my last IVF I had a ruptured ovarian cyst that to make a long story short, imploded and my right ovary was removed when I had my c-section. So if I went through another IVF I would be playing with a 1/2 deck so to speak. . I think when all was said and done we calculated our bills to see what they would have been if we had to pay out of pocket for Gwenn with all of the IVF and hospital, OB's and MFM's fees to have her and we calculated her out to be a $150,000 baby. I am an big advocate for mandated fertility coverage. We have been very fortunate so we try to give back and assist locally when we can. I also donate my meds back to my clinic (because they always send well more then needed) so they can give to someone that does not have fertility coverage on their insurance. Having a baby should never cost someone $150,000, that is just absurd......

Leigh--Thank you for the welcome

zmomma--Congratulations........That is very good news. I have a friend that spotted through her first trimester on 2 different pregnancies and both ended good. She was told brown OK, bright red call. Trust me, once this worry is over, there are many more to come. I thought once I delivered I would be fine, but then it starts a whole new world of worries, get use to it, and welcome to motherhood ) Just try to enjoy each day, you worked hard for this.....By my calculations you should be 5 weeks today. Take you transfer date, minus the age of you embryos and you are considered two weeks on that date.

midum--thank you for the well wishes and the welcome looks like you are getting close to beta.

crislyn--I hear ya. As quoted by my 4 year old "ya get what ya get and you don't throw a fit", stories I read about people that test to find out the sex for the sake of "evening things out" infuriate me. Wow your RE is strict, he would hate me as I type and sip down my diet coke (I know, I know but I cut down to 1 per day and I don't drink coffee or any other caffeine). I went for acupuncture during my 2nd IVF and I did get pregnant that time but miscarried and never went back. I did love going. Not sure if it helped or not but **** I felt relaxed afterwards.

I go for my US in the morning to see how things are doing.

Wow looking at the calendar there is a lot going on next week---best wishes to all. I have my fingers crossed for all...
