Miss, congrats on your beautiful little bean!!! That is awesome. It's funny, I remember being disappointed to find out I had only one when preggers with DD. Within 24 hours of her being born, I was thanking God up and down for a singleton! I have no idea how parents of multiples do it

So because I am obviously obsessing, I thought I'd post some fun facts I've found on line about beta scores!

* In a published study .... it was found that women who had a female fetus had hCG levels significantly higher than women who carried a male fetus. This finding is consistent with that found by several other researchers.

* In about 85% of normal pregnancies, the hCG level will double every 48 - 72 hours. As you get further along in pregnancy and the hCG level gets higher, the time it takes to double can increase to about every 96 hours. There is a wide variation of normal hCG levels. An hCG that does not double every two to three days does not necessarily indicate a problem.

* This site had an hcg calculator that I found interesting: Normal hCG Calculator Level and Pregnancy Tool. It says my numbers from last Wed to Fri were normal; from Fri to Mon they were "below average".

* Beta Base is always helpful: Beta values main chart

* Also, Dresden and Erica both posted something earlier in this thread about Frozen transfers maybe taking a little longer to settle in than Fresh.

So I'm using all these things to stay positive!! +++++++

Hi Ladies,

Just wanted to stop by and see Wanna and Juliannes results.

Wanna, congrats my dear! I just knew it was going to be a BFP for you. When you said that your embies looked so good and were hatching, I just knew it! I am so happy for you.

Julianne, I will get down on my knees and say a prayer for you tonight. I promise. I hope so much that you get your just one.

AFM, I have been coping pretty well. DH has been good and strong. He insists we will find away to try again. Im skeptical as we are maxed out financially in everyway possible and at 12k a try..well, I just cant see it. But, I know he is going to do whatever he can so that we get another attempt.

Its funny, because I have been ok with my results and havent cried since I got the phone call. But, logging onto this forum and started to get me teary eyed for the first time since the BFN. Guess a need a few more days. :-) BUT, once I am more composed and will be logging back in to see how all you lovely ladies are doing. I want the best for you all!

Hi everyone,
just checking in
Gina, I was so happy to see your post. In the past Ive referred to beta base, and then this time, I couldnt remember how to find the site! So thank you so much. And I was also very interested to learn that sometimes in FETs, embies implant later. Is it because they need a little more time to recoop. after the thaw?

Miss-congrats on your little one! I know just how you feel too. last time we conceived twins and then lost one because of a small amniotic sac. It had a heartbeat and eveything. I dont think anyone really got why I was sad when it was gone. People kept telling me to count my blessings n such. Im hoping that both take this time too. but will be so happy, also for one. Im sure there will be a moment, or a while of feeling a certain kind of loss. Sounds silly. But I was glad to hear someone articulate something similar. And by the way, Im with Mrs. Ready. I wanted that little twin so bad, and then after the birth I really was so glad there was just one little mouth to teach to nurse, and just one little postage sized bottom to keep clean and dry.

Hazel-youre telling me! I would LOVE to have a little fun right about now. the RE said no togetherness for a week after transfer. I dont think my cautios DH will permit anything until at least a well doubling beta... if not a heart beat. good luck on your next beta!

Julianne--still praying for your little one. and for you. this is hard.

wanna-good luck tomorrow!!

Fertilitysocks-im going to PM you.

ok this may be a bit TMI ..

But since my doctor never told me .. what is the rule for "togetherness" I told DH not until I hear/see a heartbeat (one more week) and he has been very patient about waiting But I was wondering what did your doctors tell you?

Sorry if this is TMI, But I feel like you are my sisters and I can ask this kind of question ..

I just want to know what the rule is ..

thank you

Melissa, every clinic says something different. Mine says no sex for a week after the trasfer. Some say until confirmed and rising betas. Others say not until the heart beats. You pretty much have to figure out what you're comf. with. For us, I know we'll probably wait longer than the one week advised (if the cycle takes). Maybe until posistive and rising betas. who knows.

normal non IF pregnant ladies are told they never have to lay off, so it makes me wonder if it really makes a diff.

hey guys. Ive been wanting to write this since last night, but just couldnt do it, bc I hadn't told my husband yet.

At about midnight I took an impromtu hpt and guess what... a fainter than faint line. it was a now you see it now you dont line, if you know what I mean. I took two today and its a teeny tiny bit darker. Still almost no line at all, but still kind of there!

Tonight I got out some special food and we had a nice moment together and then I made a toast to what "might" be the start of our new baby! It was a fun way to tell him. He was really cute and happy. And let me tell you, I was happy when my critically minded science husband agreed that there was indeed a tiny line! I thought maybe I was hoping myself into a personal illusion!

I say "might", bc that little line has a long way to go. But then again, Last night was only 4 days past 5dt, and today, 5dpdpt. So its still a few days early, and any line is going to be light anyway, right? I think last time I didnt see anything at all until 6 days past 5dt..

so, we're cautiously excited, and hoping for some darkening in the next few days.

so sorry i couldn't post for the last 2 weeks

I'm so sorry I haven't posted for the past couple of weeks. I hope you will forgive me! I have been thinking of each of you however. I just was not able to get online. Before I give you my updates, just wanted to give my heartfelt congratulations to all the bfps this month. I'm pulling for you. And for those who did not get pregnant this month, I'll be praying for you as you take your next step.

I have been very ill with nausea and vomiting for the past few weeks, and it has really escalated in the last couple of weeks such that I can barely work, and have to take zofran to keep anything down! I did have my ultrasound last week. It took the RE a long time to say anything, and the first thing she said was "uh-oh". That is NOT the first thing you want to hear from your RE during your first ultrasound! Anyway, it turns out that I have IDENTICAL twins that are sharing the same placenta, and may also be sharing the same amniotic sack (monochorionic monoamniotic). This pregnancy is considered extremely high-risk. Apparently, there is only a 50% survival rate for the babies, and there is also a very high birth defect rate. This is very rare, 1/60,000 pregnancies, and most of the problems are from cord entanglement and twin-twin transfusion which happens because they share the same placenta and sac. We go to see a high-risk OB, and will also have a repeat u/s next week to see if my RE can identify separate amniotic sacs, which would improve our prognosis somewhat. DH and I are so terrified and worried, after we were so happy during the few weeks we thought we just had a normal pregnancy. The worry also makes this sickness so much harder to deal with.

Again, so sorry for the delay in updating all of you! I really do appreciate your support. We are praying to see a membrane at the next u/s. I'll try to get online more often. I am thinking of you and will try to catch up on everyone's wonderful news!

Midum, I am so relieved to have heard from you. First, if it's appropriate to say so, congratulations on seeing two little ones in there! What an amazing and at the same time scary thing to find out. I will absolutely be keeping you in my prayers. Modern medicine is truly amazing and I know all of those doctors are going to be working their hardest to ensure a safe pregnancy and two healthy babies for you. Please keep us updated when you can. I'm also so sorry to hear about the sickness! I can't imagine how tough that must be too. I hope that you are able to find some relief soon. All the best for your u/s next week - may you receive good news regarding the amniotic sacs!! Know that we are always thinking of you here.

Marie congratulations!!! That is early to get a line you lucky girl!! I am so happy for you. I'm sure it will continue to darken. When is your official beta? Enjoy this good news!!!

Miss, my clinic said DH and I could resume sex as soon as I was comfortable with it. I was hoping after I got the rising betas, but since mine have been slow we are being cautious. Hopefully soon...

Crislyn, it was great to hear from you. I think of you often. Glad to hear your DH is being so wonderful. Take care of yourself!

Hazel almost time for your u/s!!

wanna, Julianne - good luck with repeat betas today!

Leigh how was your u/s?? Hope all is well woman!!

As for me, I awoke feeling full of hope and positive energy. I just know the nurse is going to call with good news I'll keep you posted on my score!!
