Hi! I'm new to this board. I just completed my first fresh IVF cycle which failed. We transferred one really good quality blast but luck just wasnt on our side. We have 10 frozen blasts so I was hoping to jump right into an IVF cycle. Unfortunately, my RE likes to wait one cycle in between to let the ovaries heal. So I am looking at a August FET.
Sweetpea - Are you cycling at PFC? I'm at PFC also. I think I will be on the same protocol as you - a natural one. Are you using OPK's to see when you need to trigger? Do you transfer 5 days after you trigger? I'm just trying to figure out the timing based on your protocol. My RE is recommending just transferring one again so that's what we'll do. Good luck to everyone on their cycles! I'll be following you guys in anticipation of my August FET. |

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been MIA, but summertime is a very busy time for me. I'm working my second job during the summer to pay for my FET, so I make everyday count. I am on my BCPs and Doxycycline. Unfortunately, I'm also on day 7 of AF! I called the nurse today and asked if this was normal because I didn't have this with my IVF cycle. She said it was and to keep trucking along. I start Lupron on the 7th and my transfer is tentatively scheduled for August 8th! I'm very excited, but still cautious about my embryos thawing. We only have 3 and they are grade B blasts. I just hope they all thaw and at least one implants.
A co-worker of mine is taking care of her DS's pregnant girlfriend. I asked her today if they know what she's having. She said they used an at home test and found out that it is a girl. I've never heard of such a thing. She said it's new. Any of you heard of this? I thought it was strange. Anyways, love to you all and I'll do my best to stay in touch more!

Awesome. Someone from around here. Yeah. Im at PFC. Was my description of their remodel that good? or did you see me mention the clinic somewhere else on the boards? So, what do you think of all that brown, and were you around early enough to have seen it before the changes were made? I have to admit, I dont like the new look very much. I think it makes everything look a little less clean and sophisticated. But then again, maybe it was just the surprise that threw me off. Yeah, so they have you do opks and then they trigger you the same day you surge. I had an us on Monday to check lining too, and to see that there was indeed a follie this month (they have to see one to proceed). They have you start progesterone the day of the HCG trigger, and then on the sixth day they do the transfer. They just changed it from five days after, I was told... so.. who are you seeing? Im w Dr. Herbert, who is out of town for the two weeks of my transfer. So I like Chenette too, and am seeing him. But I have to admit, I like Herbert better. I think he looks alot like this icon . an adorable little old man. Chenette is also SO conservative! I definatley prefer Herbert.anyway, love to hear all your takes on PFC. Feel free to PM me. Or write here. ![]()

Sweetpea – I saw your post on another thread about PFC. I’ve actually never seen the old look of the office. It’s been brown and loungy since I’ve been there. My main RE is Dr. Ryan but I never saw her during my IVF process….I saw Herbert for most of my ultrasounds during stims (you’re right, he is adorable) because I chose to have them very early in the morning before work. Dr. Chenette did my transfer – he was very nice and seemed knowledgeable. Actually, I’ve liked all the Dr.’s I’ve seen and I think I’ve met all of them. They are on the conservative side – wanting us to transfer only one embryo given my age (31) and our problem (tubal issues), but that worked out fine for us because we would prefer to have a singleton (less potential for complications).
So – were you able to trigger today? I hope so! Good luck to everyone else that’s in the 2ww and congrats to all those with positive beta’s. |

Leolady!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
thats so fanttastic! Who knew that the first positive on the July FET thread was going to be a natural conception! Im so happy for you!Caligirl-Dr Ryan did my transfer last time. She was great. A nice ballance of professional and personal. We did two, and both took, only to lose one due to a small amniotic sac. She was trying to talk us out of two until the last moment, but Dr. Herbert had been okay w it, so we were going for it. This time around We're doing two again. At my last ultrasound, Chenette was showing his conservative colors by advising one, but again, Dr. Herbert let us choose. I think he's under less pressure, bc it's his practice. You know whats interesing? It's that they all advise one all the time, but the other day I looked at their sart data, and the average they transfer for our age (under 35) group, from frozen, is still 2.5. Im absolutley not trying to talk you out of your decision to transfer only one. Im sure thats the right thing for you to do in your case, esp if you really only want a singleton. I just thought it was interesting when I saw it. Especially since each one of those drs. seems to suggest one to everyone I know. All-well.. I didnt get my surge this morning, so Ill wait to see if it comes tomorrow, day 17, which is when I usually get it. If I get it, I trigger with the shot. If I dont, they look again to see the growth of the egg and then possible trigger me regardless. Pretty exciting! then Ill just be on the slide to Tuesay, which will probably be our transfer. And.. DH is taking two days off to cuddle w the kiddies so I can have my two days on my back. Which my clinic doesnt ask for, but which I believe in. Today has been a good day. Hope everybody out there is feeling good and trucking along. I love to read people's updates! to the July group! |

You know, it seems pretty rare to transfer just one. I've been scrolling thru the boards and find most people have at least 2 embies transferred so PFC does seem very conservative. You would think it would be in their best interest to transfer more than one which would lead to more pregancies and better SART ratings. I do know they'll let me do 2 if I want, I'm just not sure I want to. DH & I have decided to try one this time around and if it still doesn't work, then the next time around we would definitely do 2.
This waiting around is just killing me! I hope I'm like Leolady and get pregnant by some miracle naturally while waiting for my FET cycle! |

Hey girls hope everyone is tolerating the wait well. I have finished my BCP now and Estrace starts July 5th. I forgot how wiped out the Lupron made me feel last time. Looking forward to a nice holiday weekend a few days off work and relaxing a little bit. Have a safe weekend and we are all moving along.

Youre right. Most do transfer more. but if you really want to do one, then you should. Also take stock in the new stats up on their site of eset (elective single emb. transfers). they wouldnt be posting that data if they werent proud of it other clinics dont have it up. good luck I was in today and thought of you! |

everyone, Im having such a hard time remembering all your stories and histories. Im really missing signatures on our thread. Please, if you wouldnt mind, put something, even just your dates on your sig. that would make keeping track so much easier. Thanks. And if you dont want too, thats ok too. I understand privacy issues, and liking to be anon.
Hi SYB, great to hear from you! Hoping everyone is gearing up for a fun holiday weekend (everyone in the US that is )Ok, so here's my scoop: cycle day 17 is today. still no surge. Not out of the ordinary though. so, went in. they looked. follie was enormous (19x21mm) and they decided to trigger, and did. I hate those shots. At least theres only one this time, and its done! So, I will ovulate within 40 hours, and then they will shoot my two little muffins in next thursday (theyre day five). Im really hoping for the very best! and currently I feel happy and excited!! which is great. Its nice weather where I am. I hope that everyone is gearing up for some fun and diversion this weekend. |

SweatPea - congrats on finally moving forward! Are you allowed to
still just in case that follicle is "the one"? I've never heard of a FET done this way, but I see quite a few people now that are doing this. Just curious what you are allowed to do.AFM - I'm still having some AF bleeding. Really sucks. What worries me is, I'm suppose to technically have my next AF in 2 weeks. If this bleeding doesn't stop, how will I know if I'm still having AF from the first cycle or the 2nd? I'm hoping the Lupron shots will help end this bleeding so that doesn't become an issue. Well take care everyone and Happy 4th of July!

ok, so, my clinic does natural cycles for FETs where it can (where the patient ovulates and has a good lining naturally) bc the missc. rate is so much lower for unmedicated FETs than medicated. And in a mostly unmedicated cycle, its best if you ovulate, so that the body is on a natural track toward pregnancy. I guess to be specific, its to make sure that my body produces its own progesterone too. They're just tracking that follie. Its not going to be used for anything other than to help have perfect timing, and start the right chemistry in my body. If I didn't ovulate, then I would have to do the big, un fun progesterone shots instead of just the capsules. Even though we are in the bay area, the natural cycle is not "in the name of being natural." Its bc thats the protocall that corrosponds to me, since Im 28, w no specific issue identified. And bc we had an 100% implantation rate last time. They havent said anything about sex. We arent doing it, bc we are putting two in, and if we happened to get pg and also both took, we would be pregnant w triplets, which is too many for us to contemplate. Especially when you add our three year old boy and eight month old. Can you imagine five under four years?? Its an off chance, but no sex for me! |
