Thank you so much, everybody, for your kind wishes! I really appreciate it.
Last night I dreampt that I went in to the clinic and they had lost my two best embryos. I was at such a loss. I remember my jaw just dropping and not knowing what to say. Then I made them find the third. I dont know how the dream ended. just goest o show my nerves, seeping through. But I do feel happy and excited about tomorrow, and consequently. I just bought a box of See's for my baby sitter tomorrow. She is a friend from church, and its a real favor. My babysitter's kids have chickenpox. (yes, they have it even though they were immunized. i cant belive it!) Amy, Im so happy for you, that the thaw went so well, and that they were able to transfer two. Thanks for the details of the experience too.I cant believe your oil scare! Ive heard of reactions like that before. You poor thing. Im so glad that you were able to find it in olive oil. It seems like they should be more careful about those nut oils.(ok, so sesame is a seed, but close enough!) Interesting that you arent supposed to lift anything over 25lbs. I seem to remember that from last time too. hmmm. How long does that last? Im sure theyre going to tell me something simmilar in the morning. And a have a big toddler and a pudgy baby that both like to be picked up. Good thing DH is around. Im glad you reminded me of that. Thx. I really hope for the best for your cycle!! hey, one other thing, did it hurt when they put in the catheter? or did you feel it at all? JilianS--We're tomorrow!! how're you feeling? Good luck to you!! On diet, I really wasnt planning on anything too special. But I did just stock up on lots and lots of fruits and veggies at store. And a very wide variety, incuding, (of course ) pineapple, which I didnt do last time. And I got alot of panini stuff. Just cant wait to bust out the press! I did that last year when I was on bedrest, and it was so much fun. |

Sweatpea, the catheter did hurt for me...however, I do have a tipped uterus. It requires some maneuvering for the catheter to be placed correctly. As for the 25 pounds, I think the entire 2 weeks? I know all clinics have different rules, though. How long will you be doing bedrest? My 24 hours are almost over. I'll go to the office tomorrow.
My RE wants to switch me to crinone gel and vivelle patches instead of the delestrogen and pio. This is due to the allergy/rash. I hate the shots, but I'm hesitant to switch over. I like that the pio doesn't cause cramping ( as I experienced on the endometrin and prometrium). It's hard for me to say whether the switch to olive oil is helping. I'm still itchy, but it might be from the sesame oil still being in my body. Not sure how long that takes to go away. Also , I pay out of pocket. The pio was only $20, the crinone is over $200. It's a small sum considering what we've already paid....but still. Apologies for spelling mistakes. I'm using my phone to write this.

We're back from the transfer, everything went well. Thanks so much for the good wishes and support. We were able to transfer two, and now I am reclining on the couch eating pineapple.
To Cali -- I saw Dr. Ryan, she was nice. Good luck everyone, I'm so excited about all these transfers too! I'm definitely poasing, but not yet of course. (dictated to Marie's DH) |

Can I join you guys?
Can I join your little group? I already had my ET on 7-8. It went really well and the doctor said that they were both good quality embryos - I transfered 2. I am cautiously optimistic and hopeful that they will stick. My beta test is July 20. It seems so far off.
I have another question also... I was told to be on bed rest for 2 days(which I already did) and to restrict the amount that I lift. My 1st IVF cycle with my daughter was not a problem to lift more than 10 pounds. But now I have a 1 year old and I am the primary caregiver during the day and NEED to lift her. I get a little scared that I might over due it. Any one have any advise or their doctor told them something different. THanks so much!!! Good luck to everyone!

Dawn to the group!!Our scheds are so similar. My transfer was yesterday, the 9th. my beta is the 18th. And... I have the same problem that you do. I have two heavy kids, and am not supposed to be lifting. My 3 yr old boy is 35 lbs, a toddler that still needs to be lifted sometimes. My little girl is not yet one, and still not walking. I dont know how Im going to do it. I know most clinics advise NO lifting at all. I try to let it comfort me that at my clinic, they say not to lift anything over 40 lbs. though. Both kids are under 40. Even so, Im cautious. My DH is home for yesterday and today. I havent lifted at all, and wont through the weekend. After that, Im really going to try to minimize it. That is going to mean-using a stroller, and not carrying my DD in her carrier at all. On monday all the rigor of life with two little ones will be squarley mine again. Just part of life I cant change, even for an FET. So I totally relate. Good luck to you. Looking forward to hearing more from you! |

Hi,
Looks like a few of us are doing FET this week. We just transferred one blastocyst today. Should know something on the 20th. We really debated over how many to put in. My husband is very sure he only wants one at a time. I was ok with that the first time we tried but as our reserve of eggs dwindles I feel more and more like taking our chances with two. Has anyone else experienced this conflict? So, now we wait. How is everyone else feeling? Any cramping during the days after the transfer?

yes. tons of mild cramping here. But not taking too much stock in it. I dont think that embryos can impant that fast! It could have been the way they stuck that catheter in that started it. I have a tilted uterus. Im doing anything to keep from telling myself its a good sign bc I dont want my hopes up.
Amy, Dawn and JillianS-how are you guys feeling, emotionally? I have to say, I was doing great until my little sis sent me a super mean and nasty email yesterday. (she doesnt know about our cycle-good timing, huh?) I stayed up all night, mad, and then cried all morning, as soon as DH took the kids to the zoo. The combo of the prometirum and my sis's antics are really doing a number on my stability!! My poor DH and also--Im sick and tired of this resting thing. i thought I was going to love it. But Im so bored!! I finished my book and dont want to start another. All I want to do is play w my kids and clean the house... or leave on an adventure w DH and them since he's off work. I guess that can happen tomorrow. also... the HCG from the trigger is still in my system. I konw bc Ive been tracking it by poasing. I plan on poasing every day. Right now Im having fun just watching the HCG line dissapear. And yes... I know Im a nut ![]() Good vibes of happiness during the wait for everyone!! IF is such a waiting game. And Im not patient at all. and |

It's kinda funny that you say that you are cramping. I had the same thing on the first 2 days after transfer. I dont really remember that initial cramping with DD. I think it is too early to be implanting so I think it has to do with the transfer. I feel much better today. Although I am feeling alot of weird twitches in my stomach.
Lifting continues to be a struggle. I too have been having DH help out with lifting but still difficult because DD is so used to me picking her up. My clinic says no more than 10 lbs. It sounds more reasonable to say 40 pounds. I know it is so difficult to stay unstressed in a situation that creates tension and anxiety. But I try to remember the little one trying to find a good home inside. Try to not have others negativity influence how you feel. Good luck to everyone!

I can't wait to see all of your BFP's! Hang in there ladies - you all don't have too much longer.
Sweetpea - glad your transfer with Dr. Ryan went well. It's funny to think this time next month, I'll be at the same place as you (literally) having my transfer. I went a little research crazy last night and started reading all about their freezing process. Hopefully, it's as good as it sounds. Jillian - DH and I are having the same struggle with making a decision on how many to transfer. Like you, we transferred only one blast for the fresh cycle and ended up with BFN. We really don't want multiples because of the increased risk (and also because I'm very petite) but at the same time I dont want to diminish my chances. DH is leaning towards just one because that's what the Dr. recommended. I'm just not sure....

I totally love researching all the processes too! Please post links to anything particularly good that you find. Vitrification, when I read about it the first time and realized it applied to me, had me over the moon. I read that little piece on the PFC blog many times before moving on. I love the better odds. And yes, I thought about you too when I went in to have my transfer! Lol! Have you seen that article on the blog featuring a single father and set of twins, conceived at PFC? Two appointments ago, they were all in the waiting room when I arrived. (including the nanny pictured). I told the guy I had read his article, and liked it. He was very conversational and said he was there supporting his friends (a gay couple) who were there for their transfer that day, w their surrogate. Those little twins, and the dad look exactly like their picture. Dr. herbert has been out of town on some kind of european adventure my entire cycle! I hope that I get a positive so (of course, among other reasons) I can have a few more appts, and see him and say hi. I like that little guy. He's so reassuring. |
