join you?
Hi all,
Hoping I can join your group. I have PCOS. We did IVF in 2007/2008 and got pregnant with DS in Feb. 08; he was born in November. We're gearing up to begin again. We have a meeting with our RE set in 2 weeks and are planning an August transfer. We have 4 snow babies left over from the fresh cycle. One is a blastocyst but I can't quite remember the quality of the other three...my mind was so preoccupied thinking about everything that was going on with the current cycle that I didn't pay much attention to the details. In any event, looking forward to getting to know you all! |

Sunny skies! love to have you! What a great screen name. I relate to not remembering certain aspects of the IVF well. I dont remember much about the qualitly of our three frosties either. like you, other things were on our minds... So, you were a february IVFer, last year? Me too! That means that you have probably been trying to figure out the logistics of timing, and how its all going to work together with both babies, if the FET takes, just like me. I'd love to hear a little about how you came to your decision. I know DH and I went in circles so many times with wondering about timing... and here you are with a baby almost the same age.. I bet you can relate. Our original play was August too, but then last month I realized that the wait was torturing me, (and DH was being tortured, reflexivley ) So.. we bumped it up a month. So many emotions when it comes to an infertile waiting to conceive! Here are the updates! Ready to Go ... Just waiting for Flo! Hi Ladies.
It looks like Jewellc is doing transfer (today or yesterday depending on where she lives) Where are you Jewellc? Good luck!! Sarah-Ya on the 5 snowbabies. Yes I totally agree! We are very blessed to have help with IVF. I lived in the states for 10 years (hubby is a Yank) and the medical system over there is shocking. It's sad these IVF clinic's charge so much when it's so emotional and where life starts. My IVF cost me and Dh $12,000 and I'm just so thankful I have snowbabies!

just received my dates
I hope that I can also join your thread. I just was at the RE today to get my dates and it looks like sometime around the 15th of July.
AFM - I had a failed IVF attempt in November 08. Retreived 17 eggs, 15 fertilized, 9 frozen. We tried FET in April and failed. We only have 2 blasts left. This is our last attempt and then we are not sure what we are going to do. I have unexplained fertility - PCOS really - not severe, but enough to have a big time effect. My DH has low count. I guess I am just frustrated and trying not to be overly optimistic. Thanks..Heather in PA.

When you say the emotion buttons, do you mean the happy, sad and winking faces? if you do then just make a face like this : ) only no space between the two symbols, and it will turn into the smiling face when you submit your reply. Winking ; ) and : ( (only no spaces) is that what you meant?? |

KCFCLF-
glad to have you as one of the July ladies! I hope this cycle is your lucky one! Sarah, thats awesome. Im so glad they're putting two back. Just think about what that does to your odds of success! (not like you haven't had that thought already ) Im happy for your protocall. Sounds like it was just what you wanted! How fantastic. (especially the part about not getting bumped by having to go on metam.)about me-well, today I spoke with the FET coordinator, a very sweet lady with a thick New York accent, and learned some interesting things- becasue my blasties are day 5, they will not transfer them at the surge, but five days after. (I know this is probably a no brainer to all of you, but I hadn't connected the dots.) Im so happy! I get my Fourth of July holiday back!! My little DS is really going to love fireworks, and this will be his first time watching them. I didnt want to miss that. That means that my transfer will be later than I thought, on the 9th or 10th of July. Only thing that's tricky about this cycle is that I'm going to be out of town for a few days attending a dear friend's wedding at the Beta time. Oh well. I'm sure I will have Poased by then. Oh MY!. I cant imagine the suspense I will be in though. Talk about bad timing! anyway, Im excited! oh, and it looks like I have to update two bloodtests 1. prolactin, to make sure my body is really through w nursing. (I stopped two months back) 2. thyroid. That test was outdated. Shouldnt be a prob. |

Just an update - I saw the doctor this morning. They said that I would have the ET around July 16th.
I have been told that I might be a borderline PCOS. I should have myself retested again for PCOS and TSH. This time I am going to try acupuncture too! I guess I am going to do everything it takes. |

JustOneforMe--I did accupuncture with our fresh cycle last winter. I LOVED IT!! I did it leading up to the retrieval/transfer and then after, and then I liked it so much I continued throughout my pregnancy. I had an exceptionally easy labor and delivery--especially considering DS was our first--and I credit accupuncture with a lot of that. I hope you have a similarly good experience!
SweetPea--How old is your DD that was born last fall? Our DS turns 7 months today. The timing of the FET is something I, too, agonized over. It sounds like we are a lot alike. Going through the IF process the first time was just so, so painful and emotionally exhausting (as you all know very well!) and I just dread going back there. I know I SHOULD have more confidence because it worked before; I have no reason to think subsequent attempts would not be successful. I'm also somewhat young (29 in September) so that is on my side. But...I am a worrier by nature. I guess in a PERFECT WORLD (ha) I'd like them maybe 2 years apart? But I'm hesitant to wait too long because what if it takes multiple cycles? So, August it is. I'm excited to meet with our RE in a few weeks so that I can actually have a PLAN in place, you know? ALso, e hope to have a big family...I'd love 4 kids. So it will likely be a long road for us. Sigh. ANYWAY! I'm happy to hear that you have your plan in place, Sweet Pea. It will be here before you know it! Hard to believe it's already the middle of June, isn't it??? KCFCLF--just out of curiosity, where in PA are yoU? (I'm originally from Pittsburgh, so just wondering if you're from anywhere near there and, if so, if you're as excited about tomorrow night's Pens vs. Red Wings GAME 7 as I am!) Thank you for the warm welcome.
I hope this is my lucky cycle too! It has been such an emotional roller coaster - as all of you have already been through it. I am 34 going to be 35 and am a teacher and so is my husband. So, we are around children all the time. After the last attempt and 17,000 later - we went to the RE and told him that we needed a second opinion. Well, the good news was that the second opinion would have done the same thing that he was doing - at least that made us feel a little bit better about the situation. And at least we were going to be sticking with this dr. for the final attempt. And after talking to us for over an hour about the outcome of the last 2 tries, we are going to be watching the lining much closer, and put on the estrace patch as well as the pills. And they offered to give us a discount rate as well as discounted drugs. So, in the end we were pretty happy that the dr. was willing to negotiate with us. I am just so nervous and concerned with this cycle. I am crossing my fingers and hopefully this will be the winner. I go to the dr. to get the calendar today and the drugs. So, we are on our way. Good luck to everyone. I have never heard of embryo glue? What is that? and the royal jelly? I have tried acupuncture for the last FET cycle - it got really expensive and the day of the transfer it was $300, plus the transfer - augh. Thanks for listening! Heather

I had my FET transfer yesterday, out of my two snowflakes, only one survived so hopefully this one will take. The embryo was a Day 6 blastocyst so I don't know if that is a good thing but the doctor said at this stage it would be only about 12 hrs away from implantation.
I'm an emotional mess. My daughter keeps kissing my stomach saying that she is kissing her baby brother and it makes me break down every time. I just feel like the chances are so slim so please pray for me! |
