searching for July FET buddies

Hi everyone, we're gearing up for a July transfer, and I am looking for others with the same plans. When we went through our IVF the IVF thread just about saved my sanity.

Here's our sitch: I am 28, my husband 30. We had a suprise little boy right after getting married, then had a hard time when we tried again. We turned to IF, starting with IUI's and eventually and IVF. None of our tests ever pinpointed a problem, unfortunatley, so we are classified as secondary unexplained infertility. Our IVF early last year was a success, and we were blessed with a very sweet baby girl.

Now we are ready to try again, and have three frozen blastocysts. Im scared and excited, and was going to wait until Aug, until I did the math and realized that it would actually be early September because of the way our vacations fall. So, Im back in the game, and earlier than I thought I would be. We agree its for the best. Our clinic doesnt have incredible FET success rates, so we figure we better get cracking, in case this journey requires more than one cycle to take, which is likely.

right now we are thinking about an early July transfer, and are thinking two embryos, assuming all goes well with the thaw. I would really love twins, but am afraid to hope, because we lost one last time.

anyone out there want to chat about their upcoming FET?

Hi there,

I'm sort of in the same boat as you. I have a daughter that was conceived through IVF, she is now 2 1/2 and we had two frozen embyros left from that cycle. We are currently in the process of a FET. I'm nervous because I feel like this might be my last opportunity. I had stage 4 endometriosis and my husband had poor motility so in order to get pregnant we would almost have to go through all of this again.

I actually go today for my pre-op to determine when they will thaw and hopefully put both of them back!

Wish me luck.

Hi ladies! I've been posting in the June FET thread, but my transfer will actually be either the last week in July or the first week in August. All depends on when AF decides to show up this month. Once she does, I start my bcps. I'm ready to start this up again.

I did IVF and although it was "successful", we lost our little Pokey at 7 weeks. I had a natural pregnancy/miscarriage a few months later. Since then, nothing. So we are back in the saddle again and hoping our 3 frosties survive the thaw and become the child/ren we have been praying for.

Yay yay yay! Im so excited that there are a few people out there who want to share the journey. That really makes me so happy. Buddies are so comforting!

Jewell, I totally understand where you're coming from. The big IVF last year was so expensive. We paid about 20 grand out of pocket by the time it was all said and done. Now, we're delighted that this time around we will probably spend between two and three. Now, we have three embryos, and if they dont work, I guess we'll take a break and have to gear up for another IVF, or start trying naturally again. Which is so frustrating. If I think about the fact that success is not a guarantee and there is a very real chance of failure, I start to feel really down, so Im just trying to stay totally optimistic. I Just hope (for all of us) that these little guys take!
good luck at your consult today! let us know how it goes Good luck. Good Luck. Good Luck!
Ill be excited to hear your dates.

Rebecca, I remember you from your IVF cycle. Was that in February of last year? Or was I reading your story on a different thread. I felt so sad when little Pokey didn't make it. I know there were alot of ladies in that group who were following your story closely, and were pulling for you, watching the numbers and hoping. Wow, and natural pregnancy after that. What a surprise, and then to lose it too. I can only imagine how hard that must have been. You guys have been through alot. I have really great feelings about July. I hope its a successful cycle for all of us. And especially for you. It seems like its your turn now. It really does.

So, I was fluctuating between July, Aug, and Sept, but finally called my RE's office to scedule July. I just really hate suspense, and am horrible with living with the stress of infertility. I just need to know if my frozen embryos are going to take.
Its going to wreck the summer if Im just waiting for it to pass to get to the FET. So, even though our little girl and the next possible baby would be close, we're going for it. For all we know, this will require multiple cycles to work. And if it does work, then the spacing will be fine, after all, we've been hoping to get pregnant naturally the past few months, with no results, showing that we must feel ready enough. But I must admit, I do feel like Jewel, Im also afraid to use our frosties, bc when theyre gone.... theyre gone.

I don't know if it is the estrogen or the fact that I started my Progesterone shots last night but I'm starting to really feel stressed out. The doctor has scheduled my transfer for this coming Wednesday but I'm just freaking out! One minute I'm ecstatic and the next I'm terrified that either they won't thaw or they won't take, and then I have to worry about miscarriage. I don't remember my IVF cycle being this stressful even though I know that it must have been! I just hope everything turns out ok. The doctor said that I have two blastocysts and that the thaw rate is usually pretty high, he said that if they expand in the culture that that is a really positive sign so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and will be taking many deep breaths between now and Wedneday morning!

it is good to talk to someone! I know that everyone here knows the range of emotions that comes with dealing with infertility! My best wishes for you.

For me too, stress seems like the name of the IF game. Ive been feeling so happy and optimistic about going forward with a FET that we moved our cycle month up from Aug to July. Right away I felt great and like it was the right decision for us, but now Im doubting. I don't know if its that Im not sure if Im ready, or if Im afraid to blow my remaining embryos, but I totally understand fluctuating emotions. I hear people saying that FETs are so much easier, and while its true they seem less complicated, the same things are still at stake.

Its very hard to think about it all and not start to feel a little weak in the knees!

Ive totally hit the ice cream isle in the past week, which I normally do not, and I attribute it to the stress.

And wow, next Wed is really soon. And I thought our transfer was just around the corner in early July! No wonder youre feeling nerves.

Good luck to you. I hope you get alot of rest, and pamper yourself in preparation. Feel free to vent on this thread. Im dying to be a cheerleader for people in the same battle as I am.

I'd love to join this thread! I'm gearing to do FET in July as well! I just had my 2nd IVF cycle fail 5/21. I've never been pregnant and according to my RE there is no reason why IVFs didn't work, although I've been given a 40% chance of this working per cycle. As you can see from my sig, I have less than one ovary left. I had my right ovary removed when I was 9 years old due to a dermoid cyst that was the size of a tennis ball. It twisted and cut off circulation to my fallopian tube as well and that had to go. Since then I have had dermoid cysts on my left ovary 3 times and that is why I have less than one ovary left. My left tube is blocked. So...all that said, I am looking forward to a July FET. My RE did order bloodwork for me to check for any immune issues that might have been overlooked but I am still waiting for the results. SO, that is my story. I am excited to embark on this journey with you ladies!

Sweatpea - you are right. I did have my IVF last February. Such a small world that we end up on the same path again. Thanks for all the thoughts during that time. If it wasn't for everyone's help, I would never have made it through it.

I'm still waiting on AF so that I can start the FET process. Should only have to wait another week. However, I've been really sick to my stomach, major headaches, and lower back pain. I keep wondering if maybe I have been blessed unexpectantly again? Guess I will just have to wait to find out.

Due for FET in late July

Hey everyone! We are due to do our FET at the end of July. I hyperstimmed after our May IVF treatment so we put our embies on ice. I am currently on BCPs as of Sunday, May 31st for the FET protocol.
Hoping we get some good success stories this cycle!

Hi girls. Do you mind if I join you? I just had lap surgery 3 days ago to remove my endo and drill the cysts on my ovaries. I have an appointment in 2 days to see RE and set up my next FET. I'm guessing with the recovery time and med time it should be around the end of July or possibly August before we actually do the transfer.

Hi I hope I can join your group. We just finished our first FET in May and we had had a M/C at 5 and 1/2 weeks. We are planning on FET 2 in July.
I should know more this week as far as protocol and dates. I can't wait to the ET and starting again.
Question Do any of you do acupuncture for your IVF's or FET's I have since last Aug. I think it helped and plan on doing it again but want to get some other peoples opinions.

Sarah Has your RE suggested Metformin for you? I am not on it I am PCOS but not IR. I heard it can help in prevent M/C's.
Good Luck ladies!

Wow! Welcome Everyone!! I am so excited to see that a few more July ladies have found this thread. I'm all about building up a community of support! It sounds like we have all kinds of cycles and timing accross the board, and I think thats wonderful. I think July is going to be a fertlie month.

Rebecca, I knew it was you. Im glad we're in sinc again. I thought you always had the right thing to say. You know... all those symptoms you're listing do sound suspicious! I'm hoping for a surprise miracle for you! Thats the way fate seems to work sometimes.. Just when you gear up to do something big, it takes you by surprise and changes the game. But either way, you've got some major chances of big time success in the next month. Here's to hoping for the very best! ( .. Im hoping, secretly that Im pregnant too, but the chances are just so small..)

Amaya-Im so sorry that your second IVF didnt work. On the FET board, the sticky thread at the top has stories of lots of people for whom frozen cycles just worked better on their bodies, for some reason. (less stress.. people say..?) Maybe you're a person like that. I found the history of whats happened with your ovaries very fascinating. Thanks for sharing it. What an interesting situation. Good for you for taking the bull by the horns and getting back in the treatment saddle so soon after your last treatment. I think thats a great way to do it. Third times a charm.. right?

babybansky-I'm hoping for some good success stories too. Wow. Hyperstimulation. I hope you're feeing alot better. I'd love to hear about your experience. I've heard it can be scary. at least it sounds like you didn't have any trouble responding
pretty exciting that your protocall has already started. I hope you're not feeling too emotional on your BCPs. Those really did a number on me last time. I bet you're doing great though.

Sarah 84- Wow, sounds like you've been under the knife in a big way. I hope you're recovering well after your surgery. How did they say it went? Well, I hope. I don't know much about having cysts drilled, but it sounds like something that isnt very fun. Whether you transfer in July or August, its great that you want to join the thread! All are welcome, for sure.

TeacherTara12-welcome! So sorry to hear about your recent mc. Here's to July bringing good news!
about the acupuncture question, Im not doing it, but our clinic does offer and encourage it, and it is said to increase uterine blood supply. I'd say totally go for it. Especially if you feel, personally, that it helped. I believe very stongly in the mind body connnection. oh... there's just so much literature out there saying it helps. Totally do it. If you don't, and your cycle fails, you'll always wonder

About me--aside from acupuncture, another thing I have heard that is supposed to really and truly help is royal jelly. (I know you're thinking Im crazy right baout now, as it totally sounds like hocus pocus, but there's alot of info around, and everyone on the IVF board is in love with it.) Im thinking about hitting whole foods to get some tomorrow to investigate... Does anyone out there think Im crazy? Tell me, people, if you think its just some kind of scam. Otherwise Im taking the supplement plunge.

Also, Im pretty bad at keeping track of cycles on lists for threads, but if no one else wants to do it... I can try... Some of you are going to have your dates really soon, and it would be fun to have someone with some organizational skills (unlike myself) make a running list... any takers??

I have a phone appt with the coordinator at my clinic on Wed. I hope to have some juicier details about my cycle then.

until later, optimism and hope to all of you. Let our group be a really successful one!!!

TeacherTara12- I’m so sorry to hear about your mc. I know how hard that is. I have been on metformin during my IUI’s with Clomid because it can help us girls with pcos spontaneously ovulate. I did ovulate once but I ended up with pretty bad diarrhea from the metformin it so I stopped using it when I went onto injectables. My new RE put me on it again after the last mc but he put me on the slow release one to try and prevent the stomach problems. He wanted me on it for 3 months before my FET to help reduce the chance of me mc’ing again. We didn’t end up going through with that transfer as we needed a break and wanted to start saving for a house so I stopped taking it again. I still have heaps of them left but I don’t know if I need to go back on it now that they’ve drilled my cysts so I’ll just wait and see what my RE says at my appointment. Best of luck with your appointment!

Sweetpea – Thankyou for your welcome! I’m recovering really well now. They didn’t give me much information about how it went which I thought was really rude. The nurse said that I had to wait till my post operative appointment to get any details apart from what was on the discharge form. The form was all positive so I thought that was a good sign.
I have heard of and looked into royal jelly and I think it sounds really good, I’m just not sure if it will help with a FET. From what I remember, most of the girls are on it to improve their egg quality before ER. I could be wrong though; my memory’s pretty bad! Lol! Let me know what you find out.

Take care ladies! xoxoxo

Can I join please,

Technically I start in June but transfer in July.

I did IVF September with a BFN to then get pregnant in October naturally but we lost Charlie (my baby boy) at 18 weeks.

Very sad time for us and I don't think I'm over it but I don't think I ever will be!

Just want to start being proactive to start a new life again.

So would love to join you ladies and get to know you all.

Welcome Leo Lady. It is great we have each other to get through all this. Sorry to hear about your loss. Good for you, for picking yourself up and going after what you want!

Sweetpean I am definitely in for the acupuncture again and I agree with you with the mind body connection.
As far as royal jelly I thought that helped with egg quality. Does it help with implantation? If it does sign me up!

Sarah that is interesting about the 3 months before, I think I am will email my RE tomorrow and ask him to put me on it, I think it is worth a try. I was gonna wait till the 20th but I maybe I should start now.

I started BCP's today and hopefully will have my calendar by the end of this week. I am excited and happy to have met all you and hoping for some BFP's for all!
