 Nicola! We will be waiting for your update!  that you can do FET ASAP! Also hoping September will be the lucky month for all of us! Took my first bcp this morning....

Stephanie ********* IVF #1 ER 4/14 (lucky 14, 14 eggs-all fertilized!) ET 4/19 - 2 AA extended blastocyts & have 8 snowembies!!  HPT- 7dpt & 8dpt= BFP!! Beta #1- 8dpt= 92! Beta #2 10dpt= 192! u/s -5/14/09 due to bleeding(severe SCH) 5/22 M/C naturally process begins(lets get this over with!)  Beta HCG Checks: 5/29( down to 697), 6/5 ( down to 269), 6/12(down to 136), 6/18(down to 38) , 6/30(down to 12!), 7/7(down to 8), 7/13- FINALLY below 5!!! Yippee! Cycle #2-FET: 8/28 After 6 wks on bcp, cycle postponed 9/30 1st mega shot of Lupron-Depot, 10/29 second shot FET - on hold til 2010  !

Me 37-Blocked fallopian tubes, Fibroids DH 35-No issues  1 fur baby  TTC since July 2007IVF #1 Feb '09 with AH 30 eggs retrieved & 23 fertilized 3dt of 3 perfect looking embryos, 20 frozen at day 3  FET #1 Mar '09 with AH 3dt of 3 perfect looking morulas 17 frozen embabies remaining  Myomectomy June '09 Removed 10 fibroids. 9 inside uterus and 1 outside. FET #2 Sept 09 ET 9/4 transfered 3 embabies. HPT 9/15  #1 Beta 9/16 502 #2 Beta 9/18 1246 10/1 u/s 3 sacs and 3 heartbeats! 10/2 another u/s due to a scare saw 2 sacs and 2 hbs 10/30 No fetal activity 11/5 D&C scheduled

Hi everyone! I am bummed. The coordinator for my FET is out of town for the week and I am having a difficult time getting someone else to help me at the clinic. Could someone tell me when BCP are usually started for an upcoming cycle? My LMP was July 3rd and I really want to do a Sept FET. Should I be starting BCP?

I'm not certain when they are usually started because my last FET I had AF the day of BETA and was given the go ahead to to start BCP that evening. Everything was pretty rushed. Hopefully someone comes a long and has an answer for you.

Kay-I was only on BCP for about 1 week and then started estrogen patches and tabs. Will you be doing a medicated FET? I'm wondering why I was only on BCP for a short time.

When I was on BCP for previous FETs, it was usually for a months time. Longer if I had just finished a fresh cycle of IVF.

Hello Everyone
Thank you for the welcomes. I had my appointment this morning and found out we have 12 embryos which are either 6 or 8 cell and all are grade 1 or 2 (1 being the best, I know different clinics grade them differently) I am really pleased with that and just wish we didnt have to wait to do transfer. I have started Norethisterone tablets to bring on my period and then have to wait for my next period (natural cycle) to start the BCP. I will be on them for 21 days and then will be having some other medication the following month to plump up my lining so its looking like my ET may not be until October now. If you dont mind I will hang around on here though to see all of your to keep me going, and maybe I will be lucky and get to transfer in September too. to you all.

Stillwaiting- I am wondering why I have never been on BCPs for very long. Even starting my fresh cycle I was only on them for about 2 weeks. I don't go to see my RE until beginning of August, but I am going to ask why.
Nicola-It sounds like you have some good embryos to chose from. I hope you get to do a Sept cycle! I know how frustrating it is to wait. Seems like IVF is nothing but a waiting game.

Nicola- Awesome #'s and quality... those embies should do the trick for sure! Sorry you have to wait, know that is frustrating... you never know though, it may work out fine for you to do Sept... depends on how long your cycles usually are. I was glued to my calendar guesstimating all different scenarios.... then when I talked to RE office, it ended up that the first appt. they had was a couple weeks off of what I had 'guessed". Oh well....
Kay- At my clinic, you start BCP on the 2nd day after a 'full flow' AF has started. It varies how long you are on them (see note below) For me, I will be on them for 6.5 weeks due to some other conditions. Kay, do you already have your BCP's? Are you on your clinics calendar for Sept. yet?? Sure seems like everyone's protocol is different... on the donor pages, 3 of us doing FET all are doing a diff. protocol/meds. Very confusing to me, but I guess each RE has their different formulas and tweek as necessary for the indiv. pt. (hey, as long as it works, who cares what you did and for how long!?!?!?) Would be interested in what each of you will be doing when it's time to get started!

Peabody and Stillwaiting- it sounds like everyones experience is different. I think I was on BCP for one cycle when I did a donated embryo cycle, but that was a long time ago... can't remember all the details.
Nicola- Wow! 12 embies... that is fantastic! I am in the same boat as you right now... not sure if the transfer is in Sept or Oct. I am hoping Sept too! Stephanie- I don't have any of my meds yet. I am not on the calandar either. My coordinator is out this week (how dare she take vacation when I have questions  ) but I met with the RE last week and she said as long as I have Clara weaned this month I could do a Sept transfer. We are still working on the weaning. I am down to 5 am feedings and bedtime feeding. Clara is doing well with it, but I am sad to be done.Kay

My clinic does not do BCPs for any cycle so sorry I cannot answer any questions.
Kay I stopped breastfeeding so we could do the FET too. My clinic said I need to have stopped 3 months before my FET

Sept. 2004 ectopic pregnancy (lost left tube) 2006 4 IUI no success May 2007 1st IVF *pregnancy but lost on 6/24/07 at 8 weeks 3 days Sept 2007 FET 9/07 AF is here  here we go again!!9/10 screen scan ultrasound 9/11 start 75 iu of Gonal F 9/17 BW and ultrasound (everything going along fine increase gonal f to 150iu) 9/20 bw and ultrasound (lining at 12mm, but eggs only went from 12 to 14mm, e2 not high enough) 9/22 bw and ultrasound(everything grew nicely 1 more night of meds!!!!) 9/23 trigger 9/27 ET (3 frozen embryos) 10/8 beta 21 10/10 beta 51 10/22 ultrasound (1 little Jelly Bean) 11/05 2nd ultrasound (heart beat 170 bpm) 11/12 3rd u/s due to spotting (all is well h/b 185 bpm)  Oct 2009 FET Nov/Dec 2009 11/17 AF is here, its a go for #2!!

3 months? Wow it is interesting how every clinic and every dr is different.
I am going to hold out and BF until the day of my next cycle and count that as my first cycle after weaning . I guess I have about two more weeks. I am only BF two or three times in a 24 hour period now.Kay

Well it was a little different for me cause Hannah is already 1. I stopped breastfeeding the day after she turned one. But I think it was very easy she must have been ready to stop? I was down to only two, one in the morning and one in the early evening. I stopped the one before bed long before even though everything I read said to do that one last. I just thought that one would be the hardest one to get rid of if I waited until I was ready to stop.
Anyway you are right my clinic only does a small amount of stims, ovidril (sp) and than you do the estrogen and progestrone until 10 weeks. They do very little drugs for a FET compared to what I have seen others do. But it worked last time so I am trusting them.
