YESI: I am soooo sorry. I know your pain. Please don't give up though. This is just a bump in the road. I mean that. I have been there and felt desperation...wondering if I would ever be a mother and how in the HECK we were going to afford children! It just sucked because for us it cost so much to try to have kids while other people didn't even have to try!!!

We had used all our resources for our one attempt. It totally failed so there we were, left with no money and no baby and we couldn't even afford adoption now!

I tell you all this because, I picked myself back up off the floor after a few months and decided to look into embryo adoption. Within a month I was matched and here I am pregnant (still worried!), but pregnant.

God works in mysterious ways and we don't always understand why he works the way he does...and it's not always the way we want it to happen, but if you have faith, it will happen. I'm a total believer in that because it has happened to me!

I'm praying for you and I just know that you will be a mommy. I have no doubt that any of these ladies will be mommies some day. Just give it time. Your little bean is just not ready yet.

Oh Yesi~ I am so sorry for the bad news. I am so glad you have a plan ahead for the next three months. Be gentle with yourself. It is hard to take then news, but taking time to regroup and look at different options will be a good thing. I wanted to tell you about some less expensive options that I learned about through these girls. I too have a hard time with the financial piece of this. My clinic has helped me along the way, and I know that there are a lot of clinics that will help take some edges off of the charges. Also they have donated medications a lot of the time. They won't tell you about them though, they have to ask.

Also, if you and your husband are open to it embryo donation seems like a fantastic route... there is a website that KJS posted for me pages back when I was worrying about what our next step would be. They match you with a couple and they donate their extra embryos to you, I believe that is actually how KJS got pregnant this time, (sorry to KJS if I mixed that up!). They had the embryos there pretty quickly. From there it turns into an FET. All you pay are the costs you would pay for an FET instead of having to start all over again with IVF. I don't know if that is helpful or not, I just thought I would give you an option to think about that is less expensive than the whole process all over again. Also, I know my RE doesn't always do this, but I pay payments to their office monthly. I didn't have to have any money up front except for my medications. They don't charge any interest either, so that is something you could ask your office about... I hope you and your husband focus on giving each other lots of love and support through this. I am so sorry it didn't work. I wish you the best in everything!

Leslie: HAHA! Yep, crossed in cyberspace...you were correct about the embryo adoption.

I wonder what the statistics for embryo adoption FET is...it's got to be higher than the normal average of FET...because those babies come from a "batch" of IVF that already resulted in one or two pregnancies...so chances of it working would be good...don't you think???

Anyways, I've been having off and on stomach aches/hunger pains and I just stuffed myself with pizza. I am trying to think if a full tummy is making me feel any better...not really...ugh...

One Day More...

Hi Ladies!

Yesi: I am so sorry. We all know how awful that BFN is. Please know I'm thinking of you and I hope you take the three months to do things for you! I always say this, but this whole IF process tends to take "normal" life away. Relax, treat yourself well, and you will find a way!

Godiva: My wealth of information! You need to start charging ! I did use the calculator. The earliest day after ovulation (I used the day of transfer on) it would do is 12 so I compared 172 on 13dpt and 997 7 days later and I'm "adequate" but above average! Seriously, I haven't smiled like that in days so thank you!

Leslie: Uh oh..the jitters...perfectly normal but try not to worry! Everything will be just fine!

Jen: thanks for checking in! Hope you're doing well!

Inwoman: Definitely wait until Sunday. I think POAS before beta is good...esp. on a Sunday when you have time to process the answer in the comfort of your own home. It will be !

KJS: Oh no! Don't get down! You've been so inspirational to all of us and positive. Try to keep that for yourself too! I know it's scary, but it will be OK. And dreams are sometimes manifestations of fears so don't make much of them.

AFM: Well, I woke up this morning feeling good, got to work, used the restroom....and....spotting. UGH!!!! Slight, tiny, barely there spotting...but spotting nonetheless. So, I got to my desk and called the RE office and asked for the nurse. She wasn't in, but the RE was (that jerk..I almost didn't want to speak to him). I told him I was spotting and that the past two days I'd been basically out of my mind with worry about ectopic.

He was actually very nice. He said that spotting is so normal..even a "flow like your period" is not uncommon, so it's probably just nothing. However, he agreed that to ease everyone's minds, he would do blood and a sono tomorrow. He also said (and this is a quote), "Listen, I'm 90% sure I saw an embryo on Tuesday in your uterus. I still don't like how the numbers are rising, but anything can happen at this point." Why he didn't say that Tuesday is beyond me! He could have saved me a lot of grief!

However, I felt better, stopped spotting early in the day and am going to rest up tonight. I canceled plans with friends to hang out in sweatpants, with my TV and some take out...ahhhh!

Once again, I can't stress enough how thankful I am for all of you. With DH gone and not a lot of friends knowing about this (and NO ONE else has been through IVF or FET), your advice is priceless! Thank you all!

Yesi... so sorry, I am thinking of you

KJS.... what you are going through is it seems very normal... look at me I repeated a beta cos I didnt feel pregnant yesterday.... maybe its our bodies way of breaking us in naturally...
I think its cos we are so in tune with whats going on in our bodies... looking fro pregnancy signs... those not on IVF may not even have a clue they are pregnant at this stage...

Kitty.... I am so glad they have finally tried to put you at ease on the ectopic..... a rise is still a rise even if its slow...

Leslie... stay strong and know we are going nuts along side you lol

Jen from here you make a plan and do whats needed.... you will be on the BFP list before you know it

Inwoman... nerves of steel... well done

AFM... my beta came back... rose from 204 to 398 in 34 hours... so relieved
DH sat me down and gave me a very loving but much needed reality check...no more betas at work for me...I am pregnant and everything will be fine... I will enjoy the fact I have not needed a face to face conversation with a toilet bowl lol

Yesi- So sorry about your BFN! I know how disappointed you are feeling, but the good thing is you can focus solely on yourself while he is away! Relax, rejuvenate, refocus! Please stop by and let us know what your plans are when you get a new POA!

Kitty- FINALLY your RE acts like a human being! Mine can be more clinical too, and once in a while you get a glimpse of that real person inside. I think they get so into the scientific aspects they turn off the emotions so they don't get overly bogged down at times.... does this make sense??? So sorry for your unnecessary worry, but so happy you get an u/s and b/w tomorrow! Please KUP, but I know it will be good news!

LADIES- Please remember to post your successes on the first thread on the FET main thread page: "Post your FET successes" it's so helpful to read others symptoms, beta #'s, etc.

Happy Almost Friday to all of you!!!

Thank you!

Godiva4me - Thank you, and you are right. I've put on a few extra pounds that can't be good when trying to conceive, so my goal is to get healthy and fit, both physically and mentally. I hope when my DH comes back, he'll be like whoa! He always likes it when I workout. Who knows, maybe you and I will be on a similar cycle early 2010?!

Michaelajt73
- Thank you for your kind words and support! Good luck learning patience and try to enjoy your

Kittykat - Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers, you always had me in mind and I appreciate that. I your little guy will continue to grow and find comfort in your tummy. Don't worry about the compassionless REs, it will all work out in the end!

KJS & Leslie - What a wonderful story, I think it is great that KJS adopted and embiebaby. I don't think my DH is ready to consider that so I'll leave that as my Ace in the hole...as I mentioned before he had a vascular embolization to repair a varicocele. The radiologist who performed the surgery was extremely optimistic and said that he had a 90% success rate. In other words, if the varicocele was the contributing factor for my husbands low morphology, it has a chance of returning to normal ranges within 3 months. Therefore, we are going to wait and test at that time. We'll probably try it naturally for a couple of months, and if no luck, try IUI or IVF. I would definitely consider a donated embryo, the trick would be convincing my DH. I guess I'll just have to cross that bridge when I get there. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences with me.

Much love and to all the ladies!

yrd- (((((((hugs)))))))) you be very good to yourself for the next couple of months! I look forward to seeing your BFP in the very near future!

KJS- At most I would say I have a "nervous" tummy at times.

Kitty- Oh good.... you will have some answers by tomorrow! I am glad your insensitive RE decided to be sensitive! Good for him. As for the spotting..... i did the same thing with Clara... she is turning one year old tomorrow!

Michaela- Glad your beta is rising well. How wonderful to have such a supportive DH. Just rest in his encouragement!

Kitty: Spotting is normal. I just called my clinic yesterday about it. Are you taking vaginal progesterone? I am, and that can irritate your cervix, plus as your pregnancy progresses, there is more blood flow and more blood vessels down there...(that answered the question of why all of a sudden did this start?). I'm sure you're just fine.

I can't wait until I start getting for sure signs of m/s. That way I can stop second guessing all these stomach pains I've been having recently -- is it hunger pains or is it morning sickness? A girl could go nuts tryingto read her body!!!

KJS~ your stomach feeling hungry is often a symptom of pregnancy, as is your inability to feel just right in the stomach area. I never had a hint of morning sickness when I was pregnant with my son. So don't look too hard for it! Some people don't get the sick feeling, if you don't, consider yourself blessed!

Yesi~ I love the sounds of your plan. I am glad you are looking toward the future. Anything you can do to feel healthier will help you to feel more positive the next time around. I pray that your husbands condition will be fixed! That would be awesome! Can you imagine how cool it would be if you got pregnant naturally!? Also if you can take the IUI route, it is much less expensive than IVF! You've got all sorts of options girl! I am so glad!

Kitty~ I am so excited that the Dr. finally did something to help his patient feel more hopeful and calm! I am so glad you get to go in and get more answers tomorrow rather than waiting forever!!! I am praying very hard for you, and can't wait to hear your good news. You are so strong! Doing this alone, man you are amazing!

Michaela~ It sounds like your beta is doing fantastic! I have actually started to embrace the fact that I don't have a whole lot of physical symptoms going on. Of course it would be more comforting, but as I hear it, m/s really is miserable! Many of my friends say that it will probably wait to really peak its head around 6 to 7 weeks.. books say that too. We are just on a sad curve because we all know WAY too soon that we are pregnant! It makes everything worrisome! I am so glad you got good news!!! I saw your post on the successful FET GOOD GIRL!!! I followed your lead!

Hope Floats!

Well, all of your thoughts and prayers worked ladies!

I took the day off from work today expecting the worst and got the best news!!!

We have one beautiful sac in my uterus. The RE was MUCH nicer today (thankfully, but he's still a jerk). He saw it right away, explained that he now believes it surely is a late implanter so all things are set back by a few days. It's grown from where it was Tuesday (which now I know it definitely was my little trooper on that sono).

I asked him about the thing where the hCG levels don't rise as much if you had multiples implant but lost one. He said that's absolutely true. I reminded him that I bled a little on Saturday and he said that could be it. He also said that if I had one in my uterus and one in the tubes, my levels would have been much higher, so he's almost 100% ruled out ectopic!

He wants my levels to be at 1800 today (I was 997 on Tuesday) and then we'll take it from there. I'll get results between 3-5pm.

I am so grateful and so happy!

Thanks again ladies for the support!!!! I just had to share the news!

Yeah Kitty!!! I'm so glad everything is working out! I am so jealous that you got another u/s to see your baby so much sooner than I get too!!!

I really am just so happy for you Kitty. I know you've been so stressed out lately about all this. Wow, what a nice way to begin your weekend, huh?

Let us know about your HCG levels this afternoon!
