Jumping to FET immediately after failed IVF

Has anyone ever done this? I had a failed IVF cycle in July and will have a FET in August. No break in between. My RE said it is a possibility as long as my hormone levels are good.

I am very sorry to hear about your BFN...

I think that all REs are different in terms of scheduling subsequent cycles. Our RE likes to wait for two full AF cycles before picking up with a fresh IVF or an FET.

Whenever you have your FET, you will find it to be a breeze; fewer injections and no ER for you!

Wishing you success and sending you good thoughts,

Leigh

I did one fresh cycle right after the other and had absolutely no problem with it. My RE actually encouraged it. Good luck!

My experience

This is a very personal choice. I had a fresh that was immediately followed by a frozen. Both of them ended in chemical pregnancies. I then took two months off and had a transfer yesterday.

I can tell you that I feel much more confident, positive and stronger this cycle. I do not know if my hormones calmed down or I just had some time to enjoy life.

Best wishes in whatever path you take.

1 month off

i had a fresh cycle in april (BFN), then was told to take 1 month off for the hormone levels to go down. that took hte whole of May. I started meds for the FET in June and had my transfer at the end of June and got a BFP.

i would think it is best to take a month off. Just to let your body fully recover and give yourself the best chances for success for FET.

5/4 beta BFN

FET transfer of 3 embryos on June 25th

beta 2 7/9/09 -285
beta 3 7/13/09 - 1200
beta 4 7/15/09 - 2400

7/17/09 bleeding; US showed blood clot next to the gestational sac - ordered on bed rest for "threatened miscarriage"

7/31/09 Ultrasound. HB at 143; the clot decreased to 60% of original size. still spotting brown periodically but RE is more optimistic now. Still not completely out of the woods. Keeping fingers crossed and told to take it very easy.
