Hello everyone so I got a call from my RE this morning and just about freaked right out. He had the results of my blood tests. The good news is that my FSH number is excellent (his words not mine, plus he did not give me the actual number) so I am happy about that. Secondly my A1C number (diabetes) is 6.5 which personally I am happy about because it was 7.1 in May and was 6.8 in Nov. of last year so it is down a lot. But my RE was all like that is way to high for your age and you need to see a specialist and in the back of my head I was hearing him say "we are not going to do this cycle" but after a 15 min talk from him about how I need to see a specialist and that my number was way to high I finally just flat out asked him and he was like "oh no we are going to go ahead" WTH I thought for sure it was a no go with the way he was going on about my numbers. Anyway I need to call the specialist to get an appointment.

Question does anyone elses RE make them get a pap test before the transfer? I just do not get it last time i did and my OB made me have one when I was pregnant anyway??

OMG ladies! I have been away for so long so I don't know where start! I guess I will start with what I have been up to so that you know why I have MIA again! I started my new job and have been working four 10 hour days. I am beat when I get home so I have pretty much been eating dinner, checking email and going to bed. Fridays are my day off and I have been working at my family's small business. We have a new system and it is taking so much more time to get things done than it used to. I have been working Saturdays and some Sundays too. So stressful! On top of all that, the wedding for which I am a bridesmaid in is getting close and we have been planning the shower and bachelorette party, getting dress fittings and alterations, and working on flowers and decorations. Busy busy! Anyway, that is where I have been lately. Then to top it all off, DH had an emergency appendectomy this past Monday night. I ended up staying at the hospital (and sleeping in the lovely reclining chair in his room!) and taking Tuesday off work to help him and keep him company and recover from the night before. I hated missing work after only working there 2 weeks but I didn't want to leave DH alone and I wanted to hear what the docs had to say as well. He is recovering well and we are very glad he had his appendix out... the surgeon said it would have burst over night if he would have left it! Needless to say, my mind hasn't been on IF lately! But now I am back and going full force! I have another beta tomorrow as well as my appt with the coordinator to go over the FET procedure in early Oct., getting my nieces from their half day of school and then to work at the family business. More work at the family business Saturday and then finally a few days off. I am SO looking forward to them! DH will be back to work so maybe I can finally get the house completely cleaned (for once!). It never ends!

I also wanted to get your opinions of my work situation. As I said earlier, I started a new job and can't decide if I should tell them what I am going through. They were very understanding with DHs surgery and everything but I don't know if I should tell them since I will be missing multiple days in the near future. Also, it is a preschool and we do sports training and tumbling and things that require moving around quite a bit. Sometimes we have to demonstrate forward rolls, jumps, cart wheels, etc. So I don't know how I will get out of those types of things if I don't tell them. Plus, I think one of the other teachers may be using some type of ART. She/ they have made comments about her losing weight and it happening for others after they have lost weight. She said the other day that she was on some type of meds that might make her 'on edge' and today she complained of having a hot flash. She also said today that she had an ovary removed last year. I don't want to be nosey but I'd like to know if she is so we could maybe chat about it. Then again, I don't know if they'd like to idea of two employees ttc at one time. We would both be on maternity leave around the same time etc. I don't know what to do. I know it's none of their business really but think maybe it would be easier if they knew. Any thoughts?

One more thing and I will try to keep it breif cause I know this is getting long but... a teacher I used to work with went through tons of IF treatments and ultimately wasn't able to have children. She adopted, once from Russia and once from Korea. Well, we have been keeping in touch (via FB!) and she have been a great resource and support for me. The problem is, she used the same RE as me and so far, everything that has happened to me was EXACTLY how it happened for her. She had the sames tests as me, was dx with unexplained IF, went straight to IVF, got a BFP but m/c at 8 1/2 weeks. She went on to do a few FETs and a few more IVFs (at various clinics), ended up using donor eggs and sperm and it still didn't work. I can't help but think the same will happen to me. I know everyone is different and she did have MF issues too but they never found out why she couldn't get pg or stay pg anyways. I love my RE and they have great success rates with all procedures. It's just hard not to think like this. Does anyone know how what % of people are actually infertile and can never conceive?

Sorry, just one more thing! We were thinking about getting more testing done for immune issues and such but I talked with my RE and *really* thinks the m/c was b/c of genetic abnormalites. He said based on his experiences and how things went and looked that was most likely the case. And also, that since the tests from the procedure came back inconclusive, we have to assume that is what it was since that *is* the case 50% of the time. So we aren't going to have the testing as it can be rather expensive since insurance doesn't cover it. I hope it all goes okay and he is right! I guess we'll find out soon enough!

Sorry its so long but I have had some things on my mind and haven't had anyone to talk to (or at least anyone that would understand!).

HRMS- Glad you got the go ahead! Any news from the specialist yet? As for the pap test, I don't think my RE did one before the IVF last time. He did during one of my US afterwards when I had gotten a BFP and I never found out what it was for. I didn't care at that point... I was worried about seeing a h/b. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Hi ladies! I hope you all are enjoying the holiday weekend so far. I finally have a day off of work and plan to do house work all day... laundry, cleaning, and grocery shopping.

I met with my nurse coordinator on Friday and have updated the calendar with my dates. I am getting so close to starting the process! I can hardly wait! I also had my beta checked and it was at 6! Finally, the process of the m/c is almost over. I have had some cramping so I hope AF will arrive soon.

Also, my cousin that was pg had her baby this morning. They did an emergency c- section b/c she was having some blood pressure issues and terrible headaches. They were worried about her going into a coma so they went ahead and had her deliver. She was only 31 weeks so it is a little scary but all is fine so far. I haven't been able to bring myself to visiting yet. I don't know how I will react. Wish me luck. It is going to be difficult for me.

Furbaby- Looks like we will be transferring on the same day! It will be here before we know it!

Stephanie so sorry I did not see that you had posted here. Wow sounds like you have a lot going on. Is there a chance you could get a second opinion? I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks 3 days and when on to have a healthy baby girl. I also had the same issues as your cousin with the high blood pressure sure hope her baby does ok. Hannah was born at 35 weeks and was perfect in everyway.

Hello everyone! I have always read these threads but I have never posted, so I thought I should try it. I am starting my first FET in October (October 4th to be exact). I have a 20 month old little girl from my first fresh IVF experience. How many embryo's are you all transferring? My doctor plans on doing 3. Also, I noticed that a lot of you are doing lupron shots, my RE has said I didn't need them this time, but I have all the rest of the medication. Well, I hope everyone has a positive embryo transfer in October and we all end up with happy and healthy babies in 9 months!

Welcome Dee,

As for Lupron we did a Lupron Depot shot which one shot that lasts three weeks.

We will be transferring 2 embies, that's what they usually do here in Canada.

Good luck with your FET. Keep us posted

Hello everybody! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I had a pretty good time at my friends bachelorette party but am SO glad it is over. There are some issues amongst the bridesmaids so I think we need some time apart before someone gets hurt : ) Along with a number of other problems, another bridesmaid is about 10 weeks pg. She just turned 21, isn't married, and wasn't ttc, so I found her complaining about being pg exceptionally annoying this weekend. She was complaining about not being able to drink on the day of her 21st b-day and also at her first bachelorette party so she said she was going to get a beer. "Well, it's better than getting a mixed drink b/c there is less alcohol," she says. WTF?! Ever heard of fetal alcohol syndrome?! I, along with everyone else, didn't think she should risk it so we refused to let her do it. I mean, holy crap! You won't die without it for 9 months! (Off my soap box). It is a very good thing our planning is over and the wedding is less than 3 weeks away. We all need a break form each other!

Martie- I am so excited to see that you had a m/c after IVF and then went on to have a LO. So often, I hear of people that had a m/c and go on to have a baby but I don't know of anyone that had to go through IVF to get pg in the first place. I'm not sure if I told you that already but it gives me SO much hope!

I am so glad to be sharing this experience with everyone. I can't wait for the shots on Saturday!

AFM- My beta last Wed was a 3 and my nurse said that was considered negative so I could go ahead and start the BCP. She said the spotting and cramping was probably AF and was light b/c I had bled so much early on. Now all I am waiting on is my insurance company to figure out their part. I am going to be using my insurance from my previous employer and getting it through cobra. Well, apparently, they haven't figured out a better way to do it and so they cancel your coverage until they get your papers saying you want it still. I think they should do this all ahead of time since I am actually paying for that time that they say I am not covered. It's confusing, I know! I just hope it all works out in the end. Have a great week everyone. Can't wait to get this party started!

I would like to join. We will be doing our FET in October. I am currently on bcp and tomorrow I start Lupron.

We have 2 frosties that I pray make the thaw and give us at least one healthy baby.

Count me in

Hi Ladies,
I have 1 frostie that will be transferred around October 15th. This frozen possibility is from our last fresh cycle last December. Instead of paying for another year of storage, we will just pop that baby in!

We wanted to do a fresh cycle this time, but timing isn't right because I have to be a bridesmaid in a wedding in another state. I am high risk for OHSS so they won't let me travel during my fresh cycle.
Baby dust and fingers crossed for all of us!!

AFM- My allergies have super horrible lately and I finally had enough yesterday. I went to my reg family dr's office and he asked how I did with shots. (The dr I usually see is out of town so I saw a different dr who doesn't know that I am doing IVF). So after he asked, I laughed at him. He kind of looked at me funny and said well, we can try something else if you want. I said, No, a shot is fine. I am just doing IVF and have done a million shots lately. I am not scared of them at all. I have done IVF so I fear no shot now! It was an IM in my butt and it wasn't too bad. I think the PIO is much worse! Also, I started the Dex and the Lupron this morning and already feel kind of sick to my stomach. Plus, I had a massive hot flash too! Worst one ever! I am hoping it is my body adjusting to the meds and it won't be like this the whole time. I don't remember it being this way last time so hopefully it will get better. I'm also still waiting on my insurance company to get their act together... they say I am covered but the pharmacy says I am not. They said it should only be a few more days and I hope so. The meds are expensive when you don't have any help from insurance. I can be reimbursed later but I'd rather keep my money if I can I know, I should just be happy that they cover IF treatments at all!

Hey glad to see we have more ladies joining us.

Martie get ordering girl

AFM still on the Lupron train. Seems funny that I don't really have to do anything. Also taking aspirin daily. I go in for my Suppression check on Tuesday morning, and if all is well I start Estrace on Wednesday. Yeah me!!! I guess I will also be given my dates for starting PIO.

GL everyone, we are moving along and will be PUPO soon.
