Welcome smiley, Sherley and Jess. Glad you're here with us. Hello to everyone else.
Jess, I'm not exactly sure of the FET process-I think it can be different for everyone. For ours, from what I understand, after I get AF I'll start a low dose of stims and will be monitored until I produce a good follie. Then I'll trigger and go in for the transfer. We're planning to transfer 3. So that's our plan.
I had an ectopic back in August and treated with the methotrexate shot and am now waiting for AF. I'm really hoping she gets here soon so we can start after my next cycle making it early November. We had to wait 3 months following the ectopic so I'm anxious to get this show on the road. Once again though it'll depend on good ol' AF.

Great to hear from you Mabelina! I just got a call from our RN and she gave us more info. I guess the plan is 21 days of the pill(ugh) and then estrogen/progesterone for about 2 21/2 weeks, then transfer on Nov 9th! Not nearly as much as the previous IVF cycle which is good. Hoping to transfer more embryos this time, more than 1 like you all. Sending out good vibes to you all today, glad to know that you are out there.
Jess

Hi ladies,
I need a new support thread. We had a failed IVF cycle 3 weeks ago and a consult with RE last Friday and she says we can try an FET as soon as AF arrives. This puts us in for November so hopefully for now I can just take it easy and drink some wine and get ready for my next journey. I am very nervous though because we only have 3 frosties but RE says they're beautiful 6 days blasts. Really wondering why it didn't work the first time but we all question that right? I am hoping god has not forgotten about us and will bless us this next go around. Sure helps to know there are people out there who know what this feels like. Look forward to getting to know all of you. Amanda

Can I join this board? I am planning a November FET. We were scheduled to do our ET this past sat but I have full blown OHSS, so that definately did not happen. 4 of our embryos have been frozen already and they are monitoring three others to see if they make it to blast, and if they do those will be frozen as well.
I see atleast one person from the sept IVF board (Kaylynsmom! Glad to see you're doing this around the same time as me!) I really don't know how a frozen cycle works, so I know you all will be a great resource to have. Anyhow, best of luck to everyone!

Sounds like this FET process is going to be new to a lot of us. We'll figure it out together
Jess, do you know what kind of progesterone you'll be taking? I did the PIO (ouch!) for my fresh cycle but my RE says I'll be doing suppositories for this round. Not sure the difference.
Kaylynnsmom-I hear ya on taking it easy and having a glass of wine while we wait. To cope with losing the pregnancy I made a point of scheduling some fun things to look forward to. I figured I'd also try o take advantage of this time before the restrictions begin again. Went to Cedar Point (big amusement park) this past weekend and rode the rollercoasters as much as I could. Next week DH and I are going to the Smokey Mountains for our fifth anniversary. I plan to do lots of activity (horseback riding, rafting, hiking, etc) and spend a lot of time in the hot tub while drinking wine. When I get back it'll be time to buckle down with being healthy. Until then though, I plan to live a little

Maribeth I completely agree witht he good stuff! I was thinking of going to an amusement park to and I love the Smokey Mountains- where are you if you don't mind me asking?. We recently went to the beach and I couldn't ride b/c we were preggers...but now I can do anything. Also it seems so far away to FET so I am trying to fill all the time. First on my list- I think I already said is Halloween stuff, and maybe an amusement park, a frozen drink or two, a latte...hmmm what else can we not have? Oh blue cheese dressing and lunchmeat- already had Subway for dinner the other night and I want to lose 5lbs-need to get rid of 3 from IVF and I figure lose a couple extra before this puts it on me again. I oh so want this but since it didn't stick last time I want to do everything I can't later. I started exercising again too b/c this time WHEN I get my BFP I won't be doing much and I'm sure DH won't let me lift a finger. I think after the m/c worrying will be even worse-thats so hard to imagine. Actually the last30 hrs have been the worst-as nature it doing its thing- it has been rough- I feel like we are losing our dreams. I had to come home from work today b/c the cramping was bad and basically slept with a heating pad last night and am already for bed. But now I'm also ready even more so to move on.

Anyone else have ideas on how to pass the time?

Hi Kelbell! I'm sorry things didn't work out with your fresh cycle. I know you you feel. I dont really know how the FET works either but I'm hoping it's smoother than the first time around. From what I understand it's less stressful on the mind and body. Hopefully November will be our month

lil - sorry about your BFN. welcome to our group - hopefully November will be lucky for all of us!

sounds like many of us had similar IVF cycles and it "just didn't work"

i just got a packet with all my appt's and meds to take. i thought i would be doing a natural cycle, but i'll be back with Lupron 10/16..ugh. oh well, hopefully it will all be worth it. I have some leftover Lupron and Progesterone from my IVF in February. Do you all think it's ok to still use or should I ask for new meds?

Barbara you need to check expiration dates and maybe with the pharmacy. I know my Lupron was a multidose vial- most of those have a 28-30 day expiration date after you first use it. Thats b/c you keep going into the vial and the more that happens and the longer it sets the more chance for bacterial growth. Its the same thing with other multi dose meds like insulin. I threw my Lupron away- there was very very little left anyway. I know the most of what I have left is the stims which I won't need for the FET (or at least I don't think) I also have the progesterone -endrometrin vag inserts so if I can use those thye are still good. Sorry maybe not what you want to hear but please check. Personally I used a follistim pen for one of my IUIs on like day 31 and 32 but I would not push it too much. RE or Pharmacy can tellyou for sure.

The more the merrier for Novemeber!! I'm sorry that we are all here especially since is usually meant a failed IVF-one way or another but at least we have each other for support. I really think it helps. Even if I just read posts it seems to help.

AFM-I have my last beta tomorrow morning-please that it is down to 0- last wed it was down to 60 so it should be. Also have consult with RE at 1130 to see what exactly the game plan is then I'm sure I will hear fromt he nurse so I will let everyone know my plan. I know we will all be a little different but I know I still like to know how others do it. I will probably start bcp on Thursday and am getting them refilled tomorrow. Wish we could make it happen sooner but its worth the wait in the long run!!! I just need it to stick this time! Anyone who m/c have any ideas what to do differently? I know we didn't cause it but just wondering if anyone is planning anything different. I will be seeing if RE wants anything different.

Hi ladies! Great to see that I will have some cycle buddies. I am new to this site, as well for FET. I did a IVF last sept/09 but I was at risk of OHSS .
I think that once they told us that it was a perfect cycle when at the end was NOT. We had 35 eggs, 29 fertilized and 17 made it to day 5 to be frozen all BLAST. I just got my AF on 9/28 and we are ready to get on the FET Train for Oct/Nov. As per my nurse I start BCP on 9/30 she will call me with all the details Tomorrow. We are so Happy.

POI shots

When I did my fresh cycle I was using endometrin as my progesterine supplement, but RE says I have to use the oil shot for my FET cycle. I got the delivery yesterday and about fainted when I saw the size of the needles I have to use!! The stims during my fresh cycle were nothing compared to this needle. I am really nervous about this injection especially since I have to do it myself and in the cheeks! How have you ladies done with this shot??

Interesting, my RE has me doing just the opposite with the progesterone-had PIO last time and the suppositories this time. First with the PIO, if I remember correctly, there is a big fat mixing needle that is not used for the injection. The actual injection needle isn't too pretty either but it's smaller than that one. I'm not going to lie though, I did not do too well with the PIO. DH gave it to me. The actual injection was tolerable but it made my cheeks pretty sore. The advice my nurse gave me (after the fact) was to do it in the morning so it can work through your muscles. We made the mistake of doing it at night (more convenient for us) so she said the muscle just tightened up when I went to sleep. So yeah, that's my take on it. Some people have no problem with it. How are the suppositories? I've heard they aren't much fun either.
