November 2012 FET
Any November FET buddies out there? I know it's really early, but I'm an early planner. Our story is that 8 years ago my husband had a vasectomy, but changed his mind 3 years ago, when he decided he wanted another. We didn't want to do a reversal, since we only wanted one more...so we tried IVF and were very fortunate to have conceived twins. During the pregnancy, we lost one twin, but were blessed with a healthy baby boy. When all was said and done, we had two frozen embabies that have been tugging at our heartstrings for 2 years. We have been back and forth and finally, we realized that our only option is to implant them, and hope for the best. I'm not getting any younger, and our children are getting older. So, I'm hoping to make a lot of friends to share this journey with. This forum really helped me through the stress of IVF and the subsequent miscarriage. I'm officially naming our room A NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER!

Hello there
Hi I am also planning a November FET. I have my first appointment in August to do Mock Transfer, Bloodwork and other things. I live 8 hours from my clinic so we do as much as possible at our appointments. We had a FET in 2011 but unfortunately miscarried due to a sch. and low progesterone. My husband and I have been married 17 years and have 3 adopted children. We have 5 snowbabies waiting for us too. We took a bit of a break after our miscarriage but now are ready to go full force. I am currently on BCP to suppress my cycle and am trying to lose a few more pounds before our transfer. That's about it. Look forward to the next few months and even that dreaded 2ww.

Hi Joysee!
So sorry to hear about your miscarriage, I wish you the very best of luck this go round. What are your diet plans? I have been wanting to lose a few pounds myself, but having trouble finding a diet I can stick with. I had my first appointment with my doctor yesterday! When I get my I will start the evaluation cycle and the sonohystergram and all that fun pre-fet stuff. The doctor said out two little embryos aren't the greatest quality, but he gave us a 25% chance of success. I'm kind of negative that it won't work, but I think it's just a defense mechanism. My husband is convinced it will work. He's ever the optimist. Well....we shall find out together. Best of luck!

Hi
Hi I am on a program called Grace and Strength. It is cutting out processed foods and really eating natural preservative free. It is also eating because I am hungry instead of just because I want something. Thankfully God's grace has helped me to lose 30 pounds so far. I would like to lose about 20 more but as long as I keep up the healthy eating I will be happy. I am excited to start this journey healthier. It seems so far away right now but I know it will be here before we know it. Will you be taking BCP to suppress your cycle?
ENjoy the Day! |

Hi Joysee,
I asked the doctor about BCP because I read about them on here, but he said, no. He said, I will only be monitored from CD1 and then bloodwork on CD10 and then if I remember correctly, a shot to help with the lining, and then the PIO shots after I ovulate. He said it would be very little drugs. He also said that IVF is not 1/2 the cost that it was when we did it 3 years ago...UGH!!!! Oh well, can't complain. That meant that the FET is less expensive also. I started my diet 3 days ago, and so far so good. For me, I am cutting back on sugar, but not completely. I am also trying REALLY hard to give up caffeine, but I have to say..it really is my only addiction Anyway, your right, it's so far away, but it will be here before we know it, so, keep in touch! ![]()

debating acupuncture
So I have been debating acupuncture. I am not really sure if it is worth it and don't really want to spend the extra if it won't make a difference. On the other hand if it will make a difference then it will be worth it. I found a really decent one in our area but my transfer is in Delaware and I am not sure how that would work for when it is time for my transfer.
Any opinions are welcome. Thanks. Does anyone know how I can change my signature? Duh me I can't figure it out. |

joysee - go up to the top and you'll see user CP towards the left - edit siggy should be in there. I did acupunture before our 1st IVF when we were 'doing everything possible before IVF' stage - i LOVED it and i did notice a difference. IF you can afford it, do it!!
I don't know if i'm doing a Nov/Dec or Jan transfer yet. I really want to loose some poundage and take it from there... I'll lurk more then i'll post until i figure out what i'm doing, but i know we'll be doing a FET soon... so just wanted to say HI!

Julesfly! Whenever you decide to do your FET, I wish you all the best of luck and lots of Joysee: I haven't tried acupuncture, but anything that helps you relax and pamper yourself during this process is worth it! Personally, I use IVF Hypno-CD's to relax and my favorite: Pedicures. I know they don't have the health benefits of acupuncture, but it does wonders for my sanity and stress during the procedures. How is the diet going? I fell off the wagon this week... is on the way and always causes me such salty and sugary cravings...and I'm just so week...ugh! But, back on track, I really want to lose a few pounds. Why are we all on diets before these procedures!?! Good luck with everything ladies. Keep in touch!

Losing weight before gaining weight hehe
I was just telling my husband how funny it is that I am trying to lose weight before I get pregnant. My clothes are getting loose but I hate to buy new ones because hopefully I will need maternity clothes soon.
Julesfly!! Can't wait to hear more Good November news. Hopefully This Thanksgiving we will all have a little extra blessing to be thankful for!!Thanks for the help with my signature too. AFM- My diet is going well we are running a 5k each month until my transfer which really helps me to stay motivated to exercise. I am not very fast at all but I do enjoy it. Our first one of this season is Saturday. Woohoo. I am happy with my weight loss so far but I hear you with those delicous tempting treats. The other day everything reminded me of french fries. I just keep telling myself it will only taste good for a second. |

Hello
Hi there! I'd love to join you ladies! I have been hemming and hawing over joining the boards this time around because my story is a little different, but it looks like I could fit in with you all...
DH and I have two kids right now. Our DD will turn 5 in October - she was the product of our first IVF. Our DS is 2 1/2 and he was the result of our first FET. So in terms of invasive fertility treatments, we have a great success rate. (Prior to IVF, we went through the months of Clomid and IUIs without luck.) The IVF with DD produced 11 eggs I believe. All fertilized, and 7 made it to Day 5. 2 were put in for the fresh cycle, and one took. The remaining five were frozen. 2 were thawed and put in for my son's cycle, and one took. We now have 3 embryos that, after two years of talking, praying, and sleepless nights, we've decided need to be given a chance to join our family. This morning I met with the RE for my initial consultation, and mostly to discuss whether we can put back all 3 at once. My biggest concern is having 'extra' embryos left if, say, we put in 2 and one took. My DH and I have agreed that we are most comfortable going for it one last time, all in, and seeing what God's plan is for these babies. The RE has agreed to putting in three. He said it was technically "against the rules", but I signed a waiver that he had presented the risk of multiples and discussed selective reduction (if, say, the embryos split and I end up with four or six). So, we're agreed on putting back 3. DH had a vasectomy last year, so this is truly our last shot. (mommywantsanother - I felt I could relate to you given your husband went through that as well!) I also had my sonohystegram while I was there this morning, for insurance reasons. Everything looked great. My next cycle is going to start while I'm away on vacation, so I'll have to wait until the following one to have my Day 3 blood work. If all goes according to plan, I'm hoping for end of Oct. or early Nov. for the transfer. Whew - that was probably way too much info, but I haven't really told people yet that we are going for it again, so it's nice to have a place to spill the beans! I'm really excited for this journey, and excited to share all of our stories as well! Also, Joysee - I'm running my first 5k next weekend! How did yours go??

Yay
Ready- our race went well. It was a tough one it rained and there were a lot of hills but I finished. That is such an amazing and wonderful feeling. I started running after we had our miscarriage I wanted something to push for. We run together as a family and it is so much fun and so exciting. It feels good to push through something when every part of you wants to quit. We are running our next one on Labor Day. They are addictive. Good luck on your race let us know how it goes.

Joysee congrats on finishing your race! I run regularly only on flat terrain, so hills would definitely be a challenge for me. I do enjoy running in the rain though - I prefer it to running in the heat/ humidity (ugh). I'm unsure how the terrain is for my race on the 25th so I'll let you know how it goes!
On Sept 29th I'm running Rugged Maniac with five other women and that should be a challenge. It's a 5K but includes obstacle course, mud, etc., etc., and is on a motocross track (HILLS)! I've been training with these ladies for a year and we are doing it for fun rather than to "win". Funny enough, it's the reason I am waiting until Oct/Nov for the FET, so that I can go my hardest and then take Oct off from exercise, I think. Actually I wonder -- do you all run/exercise when TTC? I usually knock it off during the cycle where I'm trying, and then I typically can't really move during the first tri so then I get lazy and don't bother for pregnancy... Enjoy your weekends! ~ Gina

good to see our group growing
It is exciting to see our group growing that means it is getting closer. Yay!! We are getting ready for our first appointment, mock transfer and all that good stuff on Thursday. We live in Ohio and travel to Delaware for our transfer. We are using that as a bit of an excuse to take a short vacation. I am looking forward to a quick break. I am planning on staying active throughout this whole process. I probably won't be doing anything extra rigorous but I definitely want to at least do something everyday. I heard that helps with circulation and I had a miscarriage last FET beccause of a sch so now I am scared. Who know it is so hard to know what is really the right thing to do. There is always a contradicting opinion. I know this is a long hard journey filled with hopes and hurts I pray that God gives us grace and strength to make it through our journey, and for lots of |
