Disney- I am truly sorry, I know how much this really hurts. I feel just like you- I'm not sure if I wnat to do this again. It's so emotionally draining. I feel like I haven't been there for my students too. We decided that if we do anything it won't be till June, when I'm out for the summer.

I had horrible cramps yesterday and it looks like I've started today. Tomorrow is my birthday- ohh joy and my observation with my principal is on Tuesday so this couldn't come at a better time- huh? I'm not sure what to expect since I wasn't so far along.

Disney,
I am so sorry to hear that you are now BFN. What a dissapointment! I wanted to share with you what we are doing moving forward since it sounds like we may be on similar paths now....

So the Chinese Dr/Accupunturest that I was seeing for the FET cycle has recommended the following to help DH swimmers along :

Zinc 60mg
B12 1000mg
l-carnitine 1000-2000mg
pycnogenol 125mg

DH is also taking a daily multi vit & is going to start monthly accupuncture treatments.

DH condition is not that bad - 35M count, 50% normal, 4% morphology. Our RE says that we are eligible for IUI's, but really wants me on meds regardless of my diagnoses. I thought that I would give it 3 unmedicated trys as they do in Europe before going back to the meds, but I can already see myself popping clomid next month if this month doesn't work. I read online that the use of ovar. stim. meds w/IUI can increase success rates 5x!

What is you DH situation? And is ART covered by your insurance?

Gina,
It sounds like you are handling this all pretty well, considering. I think its great to refocus our energy else where as you are doing with teaching. I started painting my basement last week.

CQ,
I bet you got twins in there! When I was preggo w/ DD my 3rd beta was 880 & RE thought that was great. I can't wait to hear about your u/s....

Thanks, ladies. I'm doing ok. Gina- I'm sorry this all happened right around your bday and observation. An observation would be the last thing I would want this week.

Carina- my DH has retro. ejac. due to his diabetes, so we've got that obstacle in our way right there. He has to take massive amounts of sudafed in order to produce anything. I honestly don't even recall what his last SA was....we haven't had one done since our IUI tries way back when. Thank you for sharing what your DH will be trying.

Hi Ladies--

Good to see everyone's updates. Carina and Disney--I hope that the attention to the MF issues will help your cycles. It was so rough on my DH when he was going through his consults/treatments. How are your men handling it?

Gina--what a week for you... An observation on top of everything? I am sure you'll do great! I remember those days!

Limey--congrats on the Beta #.

We are very lucky that our insurance does cover treatment if we decide to go through treatment again. My DH is the one who said I've been through enough and he wanted to do something on his end to improve things. Lord knows how much good it will do, but hey I'll let him worry about things for awhile. My DH has been even more disappointed than I am that this didn't work out. I thought we had agreed that if this didn't work out, then we would be fine with one child, but his opinion seems to be changing. My opinion may be easily swayed!

Limey-great beta #s today!

Gina- hope your observation goes well!

Thanks again for all the support. It's too bad we can't get together, I feel like we have been there for each other during this crazy time.

AF started Sunday just in time for my birthday. Yesterday people would ask are you having a good one -I just lie through my teeth- Oh yes. Today I have my observation and then I can breath.

I go to the RE on the 19th to go over everything. We're putting things on hold for a while. I think we are going to move and then see. In the mean time I thought I would stay off BCP and try naturally. We never really have. I went off for 3 months and nothing then my Dr started me on meds and so on. I have PCOS so I never know when I will ovulate. I was thinking of getting that Ov watch and just wearing it everynight. Possibly by June I may have ovulated on my own. We've never tried this before. The drugs never made my ovulate when me could just BD. What $200 when you just spent 3 grand!

Sorry to ramble-

Disney- My DH was the one who didn't want anymore for the longest time. I think this hit him harder than it did me.

Crista- Thank you- I can't even imagine how you felt at 8 weeks. Good luck on your next cycle.

Queen- I'm thinking 2 with your numbers.

Limey- Glad to see such strong BETAs for you!

Carina- Are you heading towards an IUI now?

I was so sorry to hear that a few more of you had unsuccessful cycles. I can't imagine that feeling after the tests had gotten your hopes up. I wish you the best of luck on the rest of your IVF journey.

Gina, I used the ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor for a while. With PCOS my cycles are messed up (often 5-6 weeks cycles), but the monitor read high fertility levels approximately 2 weeks before AF. However, it requires POAS to read hormone levels and the sticks get expensive.

Anyway, I'm glad we did see some BFPs on this thread. It gives me that little bit of hope to keep trying.

Gina,
Yes we are planning for an unmedicated IUI this month. I start using the OP Kit on Fri, so we'll see how it goes. This will only be the 2nd time I've ever used one of these Kits...I hope I ovulate as normally as I think I do - only time will tell. I have already agreed to the idea of clomid & hcg triggers in my head if this month doesn't work.

Disney,
It's nice to hear that DH is simpathetic & wants to work on his stuff...I am basically making my DH quit smoking & take his suppliments daily. I'm tired of doing it all on my own & possibly just to over compinsate for MF IF. I hope that doesn't sound too sh*tty, but after 2 IVF's & 1 FET I'm a little tired. Plus wether or not if we are using IUI or IVF we need the best swimmers possible.

Kari,
Good luck on your upcoming IVF!

Limey & CQ,
Great Beta's ! You have to let us know how your U/S's go...

Vermont,
Good luck on your upcoming FET!

BFN - totally discouraged

Well, ladies, I think we are throwing in the towel. After being told we had a great chance with IVF/ICSI due to my age and "perfect uterus", it is two years later and still no BFP. I know many of you have been through way nore difficult circumstances and I shouldn't be so easily beaten, but I just can't seem to pick my chin up.

DH refuses to try adoption and I don't think I can keep putting my body through this, so we are done.

Best of luck to all of you. You are such a wonderful support group and I know you'll find ways to be important in the lives of children.

Thanks,
Kat

I'm back :-)

Hi All!

I'm back from my mini-vacation. Wish I could say it was relaxing, but I was visiting family (so it wasn't...LOL).

Gina & Disney - I am SOOOO sorry things didn't work out for you this time around. I really had high hopes that everything would go smoothly. You'll be in my thoughts.

CQ/Limey - looks like you're both doing great

I go for my first ultrasound this Thursday. I guess it will be an "internal" ultrasound?? Do any of you know if the Dr. will be able to tell me if I'm having twins from this ultrasound? I'm not sure what to expect.

Sending to everyone!

Welcome back Pixxi! Vacations with family somehow never are relaxing! What a fantastic beta! Your RE should be able to see two sacs at the ultrasound if indeed you are expecting twins.

Gina-hope your observation went well! I agree with you in that it would be great to get together since we've all been such a great support to each other.

Kari, Carina, Crista- best of luck on your upcoming procedures!

I'm still awaiting AF and the inevitable loss....how long will this take???!!! I just want some closure on this cycle already.

Kat,
It's so hard to keep on going. Since we have been lucky with our IVF treatments in the past I was so convinced that our last FET cycle would work that when it didn't I began to loose faith in the technology. We are going to try an unmedicated IUI this month & then maybe some more with clomid before returning to IVF if we do not have any success after 3-6 cycles. I just can't take the pressure of my insurance only paying for 2 more IVF cycles & we can not afford to freeze again, since cyro isn't covered. I get unlimited IUI's so I don't think I will loose as much sleep over each cycle - we'll see?

What's your history? I know its hard right now, but maybe with sometime you will find that you are not at the end of your rope. My Accupunturest just told me a story of a couple who went through 4 failed IVF cycles - then got pregnant on their 2nd IUI! When I told my DH he said OMG that has to be this guy who I work with... otherwise there are 2 stories like that out there! There maybe hope for a less invasive way to conceive? Have you ever tried IUI. Like the couple mentioned my DH & I have not. Since IVF is covered by insurance where we live we went right for it. Weighing the success rates made it a no brainer at the time - 67% vs 9% ! But now after being through all that we have, I am thinking of it more like 10 inexpensive & non invasive cycles vs 2 very expensive & terribly invasive cycles? I know thats some silly a*s math!

Good luck to you no matter what you decide

Me - age, 28. No known fertility issues. Passed HSG, Histeroscopy, Sono's, Ovulate, etc...

Hubby - age, 34. avg count, slightly low morphology @ 4% while 'normal' is 5%. The numbers have varied greatly throughout the years. 6M, then 67M, then 47M, now 35M, while the breakdown %'s remained the same. I almost wonder if that 6M was wrong because no others have been so low.

Oct. 2001 - TTC

Apr 2003 - Infertilty Consultation.

May 2003 - 1st IVF cycle , but resulted in an ectopic , 2, 2 day embies transferred, no leftovers

Sept 2004 - 2nd IVF cycle ! - 2, 5 day blasts transferred - 3, 6 day blastocyst leftover for freezing

June 2005 - Baby Girl Born ... 2 hour
unmedicated labor. The universe paid back for all those proj shots that day. Though it was painful it was fast & furious. Best night of my life!

Sept 2007 FET - all 3 blasts thawed - 2, 6 days blasts transferred -

Oct 2007 - 1st IUI (unmedicated) aprox 10/15
