Hi, DH and I just finished our 1st cycle of IVF as well and got a BFN, so we are also moving on to FET. We will probably do FET in July or August depending on when I get my period. It would be great to have another buddy going through this around the same time!

Take care.

I was (am) part of the April thread. It is a great group of ladies. I just got news of a BFN yesterday with my 1st round of IVF so I'll be starting my 1st FET cycle in June or July. I am ready to press on...I am glad you are thinking the same thing. Good luck! I look forward to going through this rollercoaster ride with you.

Hey all, looks like this thread has been quiet for a while then recently revived. I'm gonna join up, since I'll be doing FET in July or so.

I've just been through my first IVF and got a BFP, but the pregnancy turned out to be non-viable. I'm waiting to M/C naturally now and anxious to get on with my FET cycle.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that doctors transfer more thawed embryos per try than fresh embryos because the thawed ones aren't as good. Anyone else hear this? I transferred two fresh and one stuck which is just what we wanted.

Irena I've heard that to about using more frozen embryos than fresh. Our Dr. did give us significantly lower success rate statistics with the FET than with fresh but who knows, we could be in the percentage that works!! Anyway, the cycle sounds much less stressful than an IVF cycle. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Irena sorry to hear about your mc. It is nice to see a good group forming for July and August.

I had a different experience with my RE she gave us a 40% chance. She also encouraged us to transfer 1 in case of twins. We have 2. I know all RE are quite different from what they say to the meds we take.
for many .

Irena- sooo sorry about your m/c. You sound like your dealing with it well. Of course it's hard to tell when it's just in writing I hope you and your heart heal and you can start back very soon.

As for me... I recieved my meds in the mail today and just did my lupron injection. Fun fun fun. I'm just glad I don't have to take that bcp. My poor 3 year old has had a grumpy mommy lately. Anyway I was anxious to take a look at the needle for the pio shot and HOLY $#%@!!!!! That is one scarey lookin needle. I did gel for my IVF so didn't have to experience that monsterous thing. Yikes.

Hope all is well with everyone, and Happy Mothers day weekend to all the mommies out there.

Ryan

Yes, the PIO shot is pretty huge - the bruises that linger on my rear attest to that!

I seem to have an odd attitude towards my m/c - I see it as just another setback, because I'm going to be building another body for my baby to try again to come in. We'll both keep trying until it works.

Any success with thin uterine lining?

hello ladies. i had my scan today (10th day) and was supposed to receive a hcg shot; then et on saturday 5/17/08. my uterine lining was 6.8mm, so my re decided to wait and consult his colleague on whether to proceed with the hcg and the transfer on the planned date. he indicated that if we waited for at least 2 days, the lining w'd be thicker, but there was a danger of loosing the follicle thru the ovulation process....

i later called him to find out what his colleague had recommended and he said we will go ahead with the plans - i.e, get the hcg tomorrow instead of today; and then go ahead with the et.

i've researched and it says in some cases that you can conceive, but may miscarry if the lining is either too thin or too thick.

anyway, has anyone heard someone who conceived and gave birth with 6mm lining? i w'd really, really appreciate any info.

thanks.

Okay, I obviously don't understand anything about FET cycles yet, because I didn't know you used a trigger!

I've read that you need a minimum of 6mm lining and also read that you need a minimum of 7mm lining and also read that you need a minimum of 8mm... I know that's not too terribly helpful, but at least it says that there's no consensus. You might want to put on the IVF board about the same question.

Oh, just found this -- 100 Questions & Answers about Infertility: Fun in the Sun...Dominion style which says that lining that thin can be an issue but isn't necessarily one (from an RE).

Rana-sorry about your failed IVF cycle. I know it's hard especially when you start your af and you know it's for real. Hope Your next round gives you a

Irena- I'm with you on the trigger thing. I'm confused. I am not using any sort of trigger during my FET cycle, but RE's are very different.

Nalongo-good luck with your trigger and transfer. I hope it all goes well for you. Just a quick question. Why do you need a trigger if you already have frozen embies waiting?

Carrbear- Your starting the process yeah!!!! It's sooooo exciting.

Hi Ya'll, just went today for my 1st ultrasound/bloodwork for my FET set for 6/5, everything went fine but feel like I need some support. My Dr's office is new and expanding quickly so I feel like my nurses never know what they're doing, when they draw my blood they always stick me lots of times before they can find a vein (even when I drink lots of water the day before/morning of to help the blood flow), but luckily my Dr's have been in the field for years and show that they know what they're doing. Anyway, I have faith that one day this entire process will work for me, but it's hard when I go to the Dr's office and expect to be comforted and I get nothing in return(or at the very least get to see that the people holding my embyros know what they are doing!) I have been on Lupron for a week now and it's already getting to me :-( I started having little hotflashes, and I have 20 more days of Lupron to go!!! UGH!!!

Hi Irena and Carrbear....

Hi Rana, glad to see you joined this group. Hopefully we will be doing FET around the same time. I am nervous and excited about it. Remind me to tell you about the freezer fiasco if you didn't already read it in the April Bunnies section. I need lots of prayers that my frozen embryos are okay, or at least a few of them are in excellent shape to txfr. Positive thinking--that's my new goal this cycle. I need to keep positive even when I am stressed and feeling nervous.

Good luck to all of you gals starting FET soon. I am happy to be on the boards with you!
