Unhappy How many eggs?

My doctor cancelled our last cycle because we only had 2 follicles. I see in this forum that people have gone through with it with only one....should we be doing the same??? How many follicles is enough to go through with it?

Hi. What ART are you referring IUI or IVF?

With IUI as long as they were mature I would think 1 or 2 would be optimum. With IVF the chances are that if you only had one mature egg it would not survive the fertilization and incubation process. If you are self pay or you have limits on your insurance your DR is trying to give you the best chances of success.

How many eggs

Sorry, we are doing IVF again. Sigh. Counting on your doc to know what she's doing but you always wonder. Thanks.

We were just wondering the same thing about doc's knowing what they are doing. We are perfectly healthy with children from previous relationships and only reason of infertility is tubal ligation. Went through IVF and FET and BOTH failed!!!! What in the world is the doc doing wrong?????? It's so frustrating

We are in the middle of yet another cycle, nine follicles cooking at the moment but waiting to see if the small ones will catch up to the big ones. Did the flare protocol this time and it worked better, though Im slow in responding. Hoping we'll get all 9, I'll know tomorrow when we'll be triggering. Wish me luck.

If this time doesn't work, we're switching doctors. Had a consult with a new one this week and we both really liked him. Wish me luck!

Good luck with your tubal ligation reversal. I hope that is the answer for you. IVF is so tricky with so many steps that can go wrong, it's a miracle it works at all! Though it seems that it should work every time with the technology, huh?
