I miss my May girls.....I just wanted to start a thread to see how you are all doing.
My IVF was canceled due to a number of problems & since then b/c of some stuff going on this summer I also found out about a blood mutation I have....
DH & I aren't sure what steps to take next.....

I hope all you ladies are well & wanted to see how you are all doing....

Hey Karla!

I saw your post on my IUI thread....I was like what? then saw this......how are you girl? So, what happended in your cycle? and how did you find out about the blood mutation? You can PM if you want....

It sounds like it has been a rough summer for you guys, us too. Although, we DID make it to MB! I was thinking about you! It was our splurge....we literally used the left over $ from our cycle....now, thinking maybe that wasn't such a good idea, but at the time it was a much needed emotional break to just be "us" and our attitude was, "well, at least we'll get something out of this!".....it was a good time....too short though.

I wonder how all of the other Ladies of May are doing?? I've lurked on the boards a few x's over the past few months, but for the most part, I've stayed away....

So, what are you considering for your next steps? How does the blood mutation factor in??? Glad you started this thread, hope the other girls find us!

Long story so I'll try to shorten...basically I was sick right before I started lupron...it carried over & I wasn't getting better. Then I started stims & was sick all the time...I couldn't eat, naseau like crazy, etc....Finally after several calls to me RE's office, she decided it would be best to cancel. I was about 5 days away from ER & had about 22 possible follies brewing.....Then after they had me quit the meds I started having horrible migranes...after seeing a neurologist he decided since I had a previous m/c he ran a panel of blood test & they found the MTHFR C677T blood mutation. All it really means is I need lots of extra folic acid, b6 & b12 vitamins & baby aspirin, possible blood thinner during pregnancy.
I don't know if I want to walk the IVF road again...all the while I know I was really sick due to other things during it, I still relate all the meds to IVF= really sick. We're looking into adoption & I wouldn't mind doing IUI again; however I'd only be able to do Letrozole b/c I way respond to the lowest does of Follistim!!!!....

So how was MB? I went in the middle of July & it was a good break for us too!!!......
How have you been recovering since your IVF? I'm so sorry to hear it didn't work out...BUT its going too so keep hanging in there girlie....Glad I found you...I hope we find more of the May ladies!!!!

Hey girls!!!! I started a thread today looking for Ladies of May too and Angie found me and directed me here...it is so good to find you guys!!!

Karla- I am so sorry you had such a hard time this summer...I finished my cycle in the beginning of June and felt like most had went their own ways before I knew it...I hope that the path gets easier from here!!!

I am sorry things did not work out better for you girls...I really am...I would not have kept my sanity through the IVF if it had not been for you girls...being in the tail end of the group I was able to learn so much from you all...it really was a bigger help than I will ever be able to explain but you girls know what I mean...

I did get preggo...with TWINS!!!!...I am due 2/21/09 and the dr hopes I can make it to 36 weeks so that is my goal now...

I hope others from May find us...I'd love to know how everyone is!!!

I was trying to search by usernames, but there are so many that are similiar....I don't want to send to the wrong person! Hmmm, maybe I'll go back and find our thread, and send some PMs later today......it's funny how we all scattered.....I know I needed a break to just regroup.

It will be great to hear about the successes! I can't wait! And Jessica, you're the 1st to share! That's awesome that you're going to have TWINS! How is your DH doing with that? Mine, woud be scared to death!

Karla, we went to MB the 3rd wk in July! Darn, we should have kept in touch & coordinated that better! Our bdays are the 22 & 23, so we spent that milestone on vacay! Much needed! We spent the days at the beach, and the nights at Broadway at the B ~so much fun!

So, what are you girls doing this long, holiday weekend??

Me: Well, DH worked OT yesterday, so I caught up on things around the house.....we're going to the NHRA drag racing finals tomorrow in Indy! The weather is supposed to be fab, so a great day to be outside!

Thank you girls so much...we really are so blessed!!! DH is thrilled about the twins...he took it so much better than I thought...I figured money or something would come up but nada yet...he is so sweet and cried when we heard their heartbeats....he is amazing!! He is a glowing daddy-to-be!!!

No big plans this weekend...DH worked yesterday and is at work now as when he gets home at 2 we have a BBQ to go to (I don't want to)...lol

KarlaSo sorry you had such trouble with the IVF meds. It good that they found that gene though. I'm glad you're able to do IUI though. Can you just do clomid or does that not work for you?

Angie It's wonderful that you took a vacation. I'm dying to go on one myself but $$ is an issue right now so... I pm'd you. Hope to hear more about your plans.

Jessica - Twins!! Wow! That great that your dh was so happy. He sounds so sweet.

As for me, well you all know that the May IVF resulted in a chemical pregnancy and I was devestated. I waited to get my hopes up until after the beta and my numbers were good and then the second beta they had dropped so I was crushed. Well we did a frozen cycle this past July and put in 2. At the five week there were 2 sacks and we were very excited but baby B never had a hb. I was sad but am so happy and thankful for the other baby (who looks very good, great hb and growth). The next few months will be tough. We won't know until 16 weeks whether this baby has the condition that my son William had. They said the chances are low though so I'm . We'll have an idea at the ultrascreen at 12 weeks. Now I'm rereading my post and it seems depressing which is weird b/c I'm so happy. Guess it's just been a tough road as so many of you can relate to. Did anyone invite Hardy08?

I actually messaged Karla/Angie earlier and asked about Hardy08 and lawyerlady as I thought they both were in the Ladies of May...I did not message them tho...I did send vingosmom (sp?) and a few others listed above messages about this thread...I am hope we can all reunite....as Karla said we were such a tight group and I'd love to know how everyone is now.

I am with you the vacation thing...I would love to take one and DH has a week off this fall but with the IVF and now twins who knows what we can afford....maybe just a small trip...lol

Jessica, yes, good job! MB is Myrtle Beach ~ Karla and I had talked about it way back in April....then, DH and I thought we wouldn't be able to go this summer. but then with the failed cycle, we took our $$ left over from meds, and splurged! Probably wasn't a wise money decision, but oh well ~ we needed it! A BBQ sounds like fun, why don't you want to go? Do you have good weather today?

Did you guys watch the Olympics? DH and I were hooked. Well, the women's beach volleyball gold medal winners (May & Walsh) are on NBC right now for a tourney.....I'm watching that and typing this....they look tired, and it's showing in their play......they need to take a break!!!

As far as doing IUI- Clomid does not work for me, but Letrozole does....I haven't discussed this with me RE either....I don't know yet....Still taking the time to sort through what we want to do next.
