Question Newbie: Low sperm motility after vasectomy; Treatment, TTC and success??

Hallo All!

First of all, I want to thank you all for sharing your stories and for being such a strong support network. I have already learned so much from your sharing.

Sorry for the posts in multiple threads, I am still learning...

This is my situation. 2.5 years ago, I met the love of my life. He was divorced with two children, aged 7 and 9. He had a vasectomy, which he reversed as soon as he learned that I wanted to have children. I am 35; he is 44. He is my angel!! We got married on 29.08.09.

Anyway, I learned last week that despite the reverse vasectomy, his sperm has low motility. I learned today, that I am okay.

I wanted to know whether anyone had a similar situation. I spent the weekend doing all sorts of research. Only to end up totally lost with all the different diagnosis, recommendations, success rates,...! Worse yet, I am in Germany and have to navigate through the world of Assisted Reproduction in German!! If you were in a similar situation, what treatment did you use? How long did it take until you were successful? What would you recommend? We have a couple of appointments coming up and I want to be informed.

Thanks in advance for all your advice and support!

Erica

Thank you, wishtobeamommy! I have read about ICSI and it looks like that is exactly what we need to try.
