Clomid not working...now what
Hey Ladies,
I've been suffering from PCOS from past few years and have been on medication (Yasmin) to regulate the periods. Tried clomid(100 mg) with metformin for the first time in Feburary from day 2-6 and had an U/S on day 14 but unfortuneatly the follicles are just 10 mm. The doctor has suggested to increase the dosage to 150 mg for the next cycle. However, she has suggested that I think about ovarian drilling. Are there any other options to ovarian drilling? Or have any of you ladies gone through this procedure and have come with positive results? |

Please please please be careful with clomid. I would say use it for 3 months if after 3 months it still isn't working switch to femara or letrozole...same thing. Clomid is evil if you are not careful...read my sig. Give it one more shot, sometimes your body needs to get used to meds.

I would say give it a shot at 150mg, but if it doesn't work you can try femara or injectibles. So there are definitely other options.
As for ovarian drilling, I know in the PCOS section there is a thread specifically on ovarian drilling with a few ladies who have recently had it done. Maybe you can post there and get some feedback from them. Good luck!

Letrozole is the chemical name for the drug Femara
I've took Clomid only 2 times an it didn't do anything for me but start making my lining thinner which is bad. You need a nice thick lining for the embryo too be able to implant in. I'm now on Femara an soon be going for my IUI next Friday. Can't wait. I don't believe Clomid cause endometriosis. I had never in my life took Clomid an later found out I had it. A person can have endometriosis and never have any signs of it at all. Causes of endometriosis include: Retrograde menstruation - when endometrial tissue is deposited in strange locations because of menstrual flow that backs up into the fallopian tubes and abdominal cavity. Ceolomic metaplasia - the areas lining the pelvic organs have certain cells that can grow into other forms of tissue such as endometrial cells. Surgery - endometrial tissues are directly transferred outside the uterus during episiotomy or Cesarean section. Blood and lymph systems - endometrial cells travel via the bloodstream or lymphatic system to distant places such as the brain and other places far from the pelvis. Immune system problems - cause the body to not recognize and destroy cells or tissue that is growing where it should not be.. Good Luck on getting your BFP soon..
