Well we had been trying for about a year and half and so I went to the RE at 31....found out I had PCOS and was told a little clomid would do the trick and now have three rounds of clomid, two rounds of Menopur and 1 IUI - still nada....we did conceive naturally but it ended in a chemical pregnancy....we are now waiting through the holidays before we go back....

I believe I was 27. We had been trying for a year and nothing. Actually the first month we tried and didn't get pregnant I was like, huh, I was always told you would get pregnant if you had unprotected sex, go figure? The first RE was not very thorough and said with our ages that there shouldn't be a problem and that DH's SA was adequate. I still had one good tube. After three years, two failed IUIs, we managed to conceived naturally and had our DD daughter in '04. We tried for another soon after knowing how long it took the first time, and my ob-gyn sent us to a male factor RE even though his counts were always the same? I wish we had been more agressive with IVF etc.. when we had the coverage years ago.

well we started two months before we got married, march, i turned 28 in April, and i went for my yearly in June and they started testing. after three failed natural IUIs with my OBGYN, i went to my current RE 1 year after trying. starting to think that i need another opinion because they have yet to find anything. but i am taking some time off after my Dec. IUI because i am tired of doctors, tests and shots. good luck everyone!

I think the first time I saw a doctor about specifically my ovaries, I was 19. I was 23 when I began fertility treatments. I am 28 now and beginning them again for the second round (I took a break in there and adopted). I guess I've always been a bit precocious.

We started TTC trying when I was 30. I was also told that I should have no problem since my periods were normal and that I have never had problems. Looking back, of course my periods were normal, I was on BCPs for years. We went for two years with no luck and the same doctor, after the first year she suggested OPKs. After two years, we saw a new ob/gyn and he started the tests: sperm test, blood tests for me, then the ultrasounds that spotted the endometriomas on my ovaries. My first lap/hysteroscopy I was diagnosed with stage IV endo, with extensive scarring and adhesions, and uterine polyps. Since then, 6 months of Lupron, 2 more laps, 2 HSGs, 1 hysteroscopy, another new ob/gyn (this is the one who finally sent me to RE), and one failed IVF cycle. We are about to start our second IVF cycle in January.

I tried unsuccessfully for three years to get pregnant before I sought help. I was 22 when I started trying and 25 when I finally saw a doctor about it. I figured I was so young that it would only be a matter of time. However, by year three, I started realizing something wasn't right.

Turns out, I don't ovulate without help and my DH has low motility. We conceived through IVF.

Well I married at 19 and had been off of BC since I was 17. I went to the doc at 22 they did one month of clomid and my relationship turned for the worst. So I stoped everything told myself I would never get PG and found my happy place with that. I eventually fell in love and I mean as soon as I saw him I knew. The night we got married I got PG. Now we have been trying again for 2 years and nothing I am on my 4th round of clomid and we are preying this is the one.

I first went to an RE at age 27 when I was single and trying to conceive via IUI with DS. After 2 attempts resulted in m/c, life took me in a different direction - I met my H and moved to a new state. A co-worker referred me to her RE who helped her become a mom with only one partially functioning ovary. I thought if anyone could help me, this doc would have to be the one. After another m/c my doc dx'd a septate uterus and my husband with sperm issues. After surgery to correct the septate I immed became pg but the pg was ectopic. Life went in another direction and my H became my XH. I was considering trying IUI again when I found my soulmate. The SO and I became pg a few months after our engagement but I m/c'd. The doc then sent my blood work to a Geneticist and I was told I'm a Balanced Translocation carrier. This was back in 05, and my doc indicated that I had less than a 2% chance to become a mother and he didn't want me to 'waste my money'. No mention was made of IVF, donor eggs, PGD or FET.

Recently a friend has sought fertility treatment and started telling me about the procedures she was going thru. I decided to start researching my options and found out about FET and Embryo Adoption. I've found a new RE (I hope) that will be able to help.

alottadawgz,

I just found out in Sept of 07 that I have a balanced translocation (2, 15). DH and I are hoping to discuss my translocation with a genetic doctor that will give us a clearer picture. We saw a genetic counselor that works under a doctor, but her information was very vague.

Have you considered IVF w/ PGD? That is something that my DH and I were thinking about as a last resort along with donor egg.

Best of luck to you. Believe me I know how hard it is to find information about our condition and successful births of babies born onto women with our condition.

Here's a site that gives some stats on IVF and some BT people. PGD

Let us know how you make out with the new RE.

We started ttc a couple months after we were married, I was 20. After about 15 months of trying we went to the doctor and found out I had Pcos and didn't ovulate. So I was 21 when I first went to the RE. Now I am 22 and I am always the youngest person in the office, I have always felt a little self conscience about that.

We started ttc when I was 30 and we went to the doctor when I was 31. Everything seems ok. We may have had some borderline test results, but nothing the doctors were concerned about. So we have been labeled unexplained.

I initially spoke to my Dr. about ttc 2 months before my husband and I got married. We wanted to have children right away. About six months in I went back to my doctor to talk to her about NOT getting pregnant. She wasn't overly concerned, but she did begin to run some tests for me and my DH. Then in December (10 months of ttc) we made our first appointment with RE. Now it has been a year and we had one failed IUI and I will begin my first round of injectionables for IVF on 2/16.

We started trying to conceive at age 30 on our own. We decided after TTC on our own, we needed some help. We first went to the RE at 32. I was diagnosed with PCOS and severly damaged and blocked tubes. I had surgery in Jan. and we are in the middle of our first IVF cycle.

right before we were married 13 years ago (1995), I went off bc expecting to become pg. on our honeymoon in August. Well it didnt' happen I went to my regular phyisican and was prescibed clomid for 2 months no luck went to a regular OB/GYN who dealt with IF. NO luck switched to the OB/GYN I have now. I had many sugeries to figure out what was going on: removal of septum, removal of endo and cysts. NO luck finally in November of 07 went to a real RE and now doing IVF. Keeping our this is our miracle
