Starting IVF!

I was 33...

when i was younger i had irregular periods...i was told i had an incompetent cervix and may find it hard to have kids...

when my ex and i decided to try...we were told low chances...spend 2 years *trying* and then come back for IVF...i was preg with DS 2 weeks later , i was 29.

anyway...my ex was not the right one...we split when DS was 5 months old...

time moves on, met new hubby...started ttc...sort of expecting it to be easy...6 months later still nothing...did some O testing....12 months...they did sperm annalysis...slightly low motility...got us the referral to RE..

I have raised ANA levels....but am an *unspecified auto immune disease sufferer*.

All my other tests came back normal.

I started seeing a Accupuncturist...she diag low core body temp and low blood preassure...but after 6 months with her...nothing

Just before my 1st IUI i got a new Rheumatologist...and she is great and put me on Heparin shots to supress my immune system (her therory that my super immune system kills anything that tries to implant).

3 IUI later...still nothing...i am that we have something positive happen in 2009.

We too are now classified as *unspecified fertility problems*...i hate being so vague!

We are having 3 months off treatments...while we research and re evaluate...and go back to all the diff specialists...and i start Bowen Treatment and Chiro....just to change things up a bit.

I always knew that I would not be able to get pregnant naturally. Before seeing my RE I had maybe four periods in my entire life. I brought it up to my obgyn starting when I was 13, but they always passed it off saying that I would even out eventually. I married my husband at 18 but we hadn't been using protection before that. At 21 I made an appt with and RE when I realized I hadn't had a cycle since 2004. I was diagnosed with PCOS and told that even though I was young, we should get pregnant as soon as possible. I was put on metformin and gave up sugar and all processed foods. After several failed attempts on clomid and letrazole we moved to injectibles with follistim. I am now 22 weeks pregnant!

I have been tring to see a specialist since I was about 22.
Ive ALWAYS had irregular periods as long as I can remember they were either too heavy or too long or didnt exist.
I kept asking is this going to affect me getting pregnant? But since I wasnt actually trying to get pregnant they didnt do anything. Good 'ol birth control pills fixed everything.
Now at 35 im in the mad rush against age to finally have a family.
and to everyone

I selected 13-19. I wasn't trying to get pregnant, but was dx with pcos when I was 15 so I already knew I was going to have fertility issues.

A dermatologist freaked me out when I was 21 and told me I better start thinking about having kids or it will be too late. I was in no way ready and didn't even meet DH until 2 years later.

I got pregnant when I was 19. The one and only time I have been pregnant. (Thought I had a miscarriage once, but never took a hpt because I wasn't even thinking it was a possiblity. Who knows now?!) I got married at 26 with a different partner, and new he had issues with sperm just from bding. We went to an RE when I was 28 and found out I have/had a septum. Have had 2 surgeries now and will find out if I can get pregnant with donor sperm starting this month!

hi just wanted to respond to what i think is a really neat question...my periods were always irregular and my ob/gyn had put me on bcp for years wheni was younger....i finally around 22 met the man of my dreams(who would later become my dh) and a year into the relationship we stopped using bc...fastforward a few years i was still going to my yearly exam and always mentioned something about how we would like to have kids but at this point i didn't have a period and they would say well wait a little while it will happen..few more years still no af at all and we just figured it wouldn't happen my dh thought he might have damage due to a car accident and broken back etc...we tried not to think about it..then at 27 after amonth of feeling sick (still no af)found out i was a few months pregnant..holy cow..and totally over the moon...after ds was born we knew we wanted to try again..so i went to my ob/gyn twice about why my periods hadn't started my ds was a year old and they said probably just from breastfeeding it'll happen...my ds is two and i still haven't had af "happen" but early this year in january 09 i was driving by a place i had gone by so many times and thought i would like to go in and see what they have to say..well that day in jan i did and welcome to the wonderful world of if and re's lol...so glad i found this office and wish i woulda found them sooner...wish my ob/gyn woulda told me such a place existed or wish i woulda reasearched it and found out my own self earlier lol...good luck ladies
