Anyone ever heard of going on a Birth Control pill before starting an IVF cycle? I read online several different reasons why they would might do this and am waiting to confirm with my doc. Some sites say Fer clinics do it to get all women on the same cycle for lab purposes and other say to regulate the cycle or get rid of cysts from a previous IUI cycle. Anyone heard of this?

My protocol calls for BCP's in the beginning - I think most do ? My understanding was it was for the reasons you stated.

I took the BCP before I started my IVF cycle and I was told they do it for both reasons...to regulate the cycle on their terms and help with cysts if you have any!!!! Good Luck!!!
