kelliejo- I had a hard time with my second IVF because I had already been through one IVF and two IUIs with injectables, and I felt like I knew my body better than the doctor did. They raised my dose when every other time it had been lowered. I had to float for a day because they thought I was going to hyper-stim. In the end I decided it was best to just do what they told me to do and forget about past experiences. They're going to do what they want anyway, right?

Sandi- I think you're right. You have to see positives in everything. There's got to be a reason for all of this madness. Have fun on your trip and have a drink or more than one drink for me.

mgmsrk- I'm sorry you're having to go through all of that scary situation. I hope it all turns out to be nothing. I had a lap a year ago, and it wasn't a big deal. I had more trouble getting over the D&C. Good luck, and keep us posted.

Rose- you're a much nicer person than I am! I'm the annoying girl with a zillion questions. I agree that they know what they are doing and of course I would take their recommendation. What kind of school are you in right now?

mgmsrk- I had a lap too. Easy peasy. Good luck.

Hahaha!!! I assure you I'm not that nice. Honestly, the nurse at my RE's office explained in great detail why they use certain protocols over others. It didn't matter at all that I had already been through an IVF. They did with me what they felt was best, and I knew they were doing what was in my best interest. I'm going to nursing school.

I almost left church yesterday because a couple with a baby came and sat next to me at a luncheon. Would that have been bad of me? Instead, I cried most of the day.

Nursing school sounds interesting. What were you doing before that? Did you have another gig?

When is your FET? My follow up visit is next Monday.

I totally understand about not wanting to be near babies. Before IVF#1 we tried for a long time and several my friends got pregnant and I did not even answer the phone when they called. I just could not face it. I felt horrible, but I could not help myself.

I've been working in the OR for about three and a half years now doing a rather technical job that involves brain and spine surgeries. It's really hard to explain, so I think "nurse" is a little easier.

We're going to just let our babies "chill" for a while while I'm in school and until we decide what we're going to do. We've had our adoption feelers out for a while, so there's still a chance we could get our baby that way. Either way, right now we're the couple that can't have a baby. I've been a bit overwhelmed by my losses lately, and hoping that school will get my mind off of things.

Good luck with your appointment. Let me know how things go.

Hi ladies,

I wanted to bump this thread ~ Rose, this was a great idea! There are many of us in the same place with a recent BFN.......so, how are you holding up? What's next for you? Anything fun planned for the summer?

About me:
We officially got our BFN from our 1st IVF cycle 12 days ago ~ I haven't been on the boards much, and just been taking 1 day at a time. We're looking at our next IVF in the Fall. Looking into a beach vacation (but trying to save $$ at the same time!!!).....we need to hit the lottery!

I'm right there with you with need to hit the lottery!

I have my consult with CCRM in July sometime. I figure if they can't get me pregnant, then I need to start thinking about other options. I really believe, though, that this is going to work next time.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Angie- I'm sorry about your BFN. I hope things improve for you soon.

KellieJo- Good luck with your appointment.

I'm on a semi-permanent break. Partly due to school, I can't bring myself to go through treatment anytime soon. I pop online every so often just to check messages and make a post or two.

I'm new to this thread but wanted to say that your idea was not silly....it's sweet and very creative. I actually bought a special FRER (I was using plain test strips) and it was Father's Day so I was going to wrap it up with the father's day card and give it to him. I was pretty confident....had gotten a BFP on 6dpt, 7dpt and then on 8dpt (Father's Day) I got 2 negatives and a positive.....I just went back to bed crying AF arrived on 10dpt, and BETA was less than 5 on 11dpt.

I'm just sick, but feeling better since I started my Bible study back. I just really thought that I'd get a BFP since my only factor is tubal....and my husband and I have other children together, but I guess that is what I get for assuming.

Now I'm torn....do I try again? If I pay for another cycle and it comes out BFN, then I won't be able to participate in any shared risk program unless I do the 3 cycle one (25,000). But if I buy 3 through the shared risk and it only takes 2 cycles for me to get my , then I've paid an extra 10,000 or so......ugghhh. Not to mention, I can't see going through 3 more fresh and frozen cycles. That's a lot of time and meds cost for a 34 year old.

Everything I read online says that a lot of people get their BFP after the 2nd cycle, sometimes the 3rd....but the RE's in my area say that after 3 (unless there are miscarriages...etc) that it's really not increasing your chances to continue, wow...that's a downer

Oh and then I can also go the route of tubal surgery....there is a GREAT doctor that does the surgery for 6200 (all inclusive, even includes the hotel room!!!)....but no guarantees there either. Well, actually there is....if you don't get a BFP after a year he'll do all your fertility treatments for free, minus meds of course. He's a few hours from where we live though, so that wouldn't probably work if it came to that.....ugghhh. Plus I don't like the 'unknown' factor of that....I'd worry every month about ectopics...etc in to my menopause years, not fun!!!

Well, there is my LONG story. I'm glad someone started a thread about the BFN's. I feel like I can't really reply to any of the other threads (ones asking if you had these symptoms, or this or that when you went through ER/ET) because my cycle ended negative so when I reply I think the OP will think I'm jinxing them to the same outcome.

Indie and Heather,
I'm so sorry to hear that both of you are having a difficult time. I know what you mean about not wanting to jinx anybody to your own fate. I saw that Kristen finally got her BFP, so now I feel like I need to stay away from the clinical trial thread too. I'm so happy for her I could burst, but I want to stay away to make sure I don't bring her any bad luck. I can't stay away from the forum completely though because I feel like I need to be here for everybody that needs support to get through the rough parts.

Please feel free to PM me whenever or text me if you ever feel like you need to. I'm always here to talk too.

Hope it's ok to join your thread. I just got my on 6/27, the day before my birthday. Somehow I just thought it would be positive because it was my birthday. Silly I know.

I think I'm ok until DH brings it up and then I just can't stop crying. I'm trying to be positive and I'm looking forward to a FET in September, but it's killing me that it is so ooo far away.

Sorry to all the , but glad to have someone to talk to.

My BFN was 2 days after my birthday....I got AF for my birthday, so I completely know how you feel.

I'm glad you have 3 frozen embryo's left though....I wished I did.

I keep praying about our situation, and I'm working on finances....but still I'm trying to leave it up to God (boy that's really really hard when I want to get going on a second cycle right now!!!).

I really pray that we all get another chance and it brings us our BFP!!!
