HELP PLEASE! Ovidrel question!

I am new to this board but after reading many of the forums I am so impressed by how knowledgable you all are! I am hoping you all could help me here. I did a clomid cycle with an ovidrel shot 13 days ago. I only had one follicle and only 3 sperm were alive after the post-coital test. I have been having a lot of pregnancy symptoms, but I knwo that could be from the ovidrel and/or clomid, Tonight i took a pregnancy test and it was positve, faint, but positive, PLEASE help! Woudl this be from the drugs, or would it be a real pregnancy test. I am hoping beyond hope that you all can shed some light on this for me. Thank you in advance for your help! I wish you all the best of luck!

ovidrel wouldn't effect a HPT. The only thing that effects the HPT is an HCG trigger shot. It takes the trigger 8-10 days to get out of your system. If you didn't have a HCG trigger then your HPT could be accurate.

I am not sure it was ovidrel---i thought that is what they said though......it was given to me when they thought i was about to ivulate the one follicle i had. She said that it woudl give me a false positive if i took the test too early. But i am not sure what too early is. What is the HCG shot you are referring to? Coudl that be the shot I got? I am so uniformed right now and appreciate your help!

Ovidrel is the same as the HCG trigger. One you take in your stomach and the other in your hip. I have had experience with both injections.

So if it has been at least 10 days from the day you did the injection, it could be a true positive.

Good luck.

When I did my IVF cycle I took ovidrel at the beginning of my cycle to "kick start everything." Then at the end before my retrieval to give a boost before the egg retrieval. The HCG shot is the actual HCG pregnancy hormone that makes you ovulate. It is prescribed 36 hours before an IUI or an IVF retrieval. The HCG shot will stimulate your ovaries to release their eggs. HPTs work by detecting the HCG level in your urine. I would say there is a good chance your HPT is accurate. When do you go back to the doc?

Now that I look back at my cycle tracker - My dr. didn't use ovidrel with the common protocol. I used it several different times in one cycle. Weird. But whatever the doc did it worked. I am sure it was ovidrel that you took . It is an HCG drug. Probably takes the same time to get out of your system. I took my HPT 12 days after the shots and got two faint lines as well.

That's not cool. You need a definitive answer. They need to be checking your progesterone and estrogen levels. Did you get put on progesterone for this clomid cycle?

I had my progesterone checked last thursday........they said it was okay and that I was producing enough on my own. I am assuming htat if i call back with a positive test they will want me to come in and have the blood test done? I don't really know..........but you think it would be a real positive since i had the shot two wednesdays ago tomorrow?

Bloodwork is the only way to tell for sure. I would call in the morning and tell them you tested positive. i think it definately could be accurate. I have taken 100's of hpts in my life. When I finally saw that faint second line I knew it had to be true. One piece of advice - always ask for you levels, keep track of everything. Even at this early stage. You will feel more comfortable if you know everything and are in control of this process. If they tell you, your levels are fine, tell them you want to know your exact levels.

no I would go out of town. They can do bloodwork and test your beta, progesterone, and estrogen. If your beta is positive then they can adjust accordingly. However, I might avoid bungee jumping and sky diving.
