I am 12 dpo on my 4th round of clomid with an hcg trigger. Temps are dropping and I got the dreaded
this morning. Although I know it's not over until AF shows, I feel like I've been down this road enough to want to prepare myself.I am wondering what is the typical next step in fertility treatments. Here is a bit of background on me: I have a 2 y/o ds who I conceived naturally the 1st month trying. About 6 weeks into my pg, I started spotting, had bw done and was found to have low progesterone. I took supplements until the end of the 1st trimester and all was well. Fast forward to February of this year when dh and I ttc #2. Once again I get pg that first month, but it ended up being chemical. When I had bw done my progesterone was less than 1 so my ob put me on clomid. He thought that it would be a better way to boost the progesterone. Well here I am 4 rounds later (and one hcg trigger) and no bfp. I thought since I O on my own and was taking it for the low progesterone I'd be pg by now. I'm not sure how many rounds of clomid you can do, although I know the rates of success drop after 3 and I don't have any refills left on my rx. I obviously don't want to call my ob until af shows and I'm sure I'm out, but does anyone know what might be next for me? If you've made it this far, thanks for listening (reading!). Any input would be so greatly appreciated.

I did 6 rounds with clomid this time around to no avail. I went to a new doctor and used femara and follistim and got 3 follies (as opposed to the 1) and BINGO! I used endometrin suppositories until week 12 to keep my progesterone up. Good luck. There are lots of different options and combinations that can be tried! liv ![]()

Thanks so much for the responses. It's so hard to not get discouraged. I am nervous about the cost of treatment from here since I don't think my insurance will cover very much. They did cover my hcg trigger injection though, so maybe they will cover more than I think...
I am wondering at what point do I go see an RE. My doctor is wonderful but we've been trying for 7 months and I will be 34 this fall. I feel like time is of the essencce.

Go to an RE now. My last iui (via RE) was partially covered where none of the rest were covered at all. I did deduct all of my out-of-pocket expenses during tax time. It didn't make a HUGE difference but we did get some back.
