Well ladies....... it's Friday. How did everyone do this week? Also what are your eating out strategies? I have a women's game night tonight and I know there will be EVERY nummy thing tempting me all night. Before I go I am going to have something High fiber and filling so I won't want to eat everything in sight.
I did okay in the exercise department this week. I am really surprised at how much the month off took out of me, not to mention the surgery. I didn't gain weight, but I sure lost a lot of muscle and endurance. It is going to take a while to get it back. Have great weekends. Keep up your good work!

Hey Ladies! May I join? This sounds like such a great group. I have gained about fifty pounds in the last three years or so - pregnancy, infertility. I am serious about losing. My goal is to lose 30 pounds for now.

My approach, fresh steamed veggies, whole grains (small portions), grilled meat, etc., oh, and no processed sugars and no food with high fat content.

I've been hiking; we have some nice mountains around here. I've been doing this for about the last 2 weeks. I've lost about 2 pounds (lol, you have to start somewhere).

This week I think I did pretty good. I ate half of what I normally would and I got my exercising in!!! I only lost 1 lb, but I also started AF. Usually I gain a few so all in all I am happy.

Can I join too?

I did my first workout this morning (just a little 25 minute video workout from a program I did one summer)...and I was red-faced and sweaty and my legs felt like jello afterwards. Sigh.

My goal is to get down to 150lbs before January 14th...which means I have 15 lbs to lose. Mainly I just want to be in better shape...I read in one of my pregnancy books that an average birth, in terms of oxygen use and physical exhertion, is the equivalent to running 12 MILES!!!!! That kind of freaks me out, as I am NO WHERE NEAR being able to pull off that kind of energy.

My major weakness is sweets. Cooookies. And the little tiny chocolate bars my rotten co-worker keeps in a jar right beside my desk...harumph. I have to stay away from that stuff...I may have to check out some of those things you other gals mentioned (they sound nummy!)

So, can I join?

I've managed to refrain from raiding the neighbouring candy jar, even though I've been hearing it's little glass lid opening and closing all day...not that I noticed or anything :-)

Sounds like people are doing well. I have pretty much stayed on target. I need to exercise today though.

Crying Inside - walking can be pretty good exercise... way to go!!

1of2 mommies - you set a realistic and attainable goal. Good job with the exercise.

mdbrum16 - way to go with cal intake and exercise.

You ladies are definitely inspiring.

Hi everyone! i've been pretty busy and unable to post for several days. Welcome to all you new gals!! It looks like everyone is on good tracks..... watch out for those sweets. Does anyone else have craving issues?! So you give in? If not what are you doing to not cave in?
I am up to 55 min of walking (almost to my goal of one hour per day) and I have been doing my strength training too. I am NOT losing weight however. Why does everything take such patience?
Keep up the good work y'all.
Kay

Patience is sooo hard. With working full time and going to school full time, plus TTC full time and having a dh and a home...my life is just wwwaaayyy too full right now! I try to add in some exercise where I can. Usually on Mondays I work a late night but because we were off this last Monday I have to work a late night tonight to keep my hours up because I take off for school....so a 12-12 1/2 hour shift today. Sure takes it out of ya!

I did walk alot yesterday around campus, but I just never feel like its enough. DH went on a diet and lost so fast. Everyone was asking him about it, but I was on that same diet, lost a little weight (not as much) and nobody said a word! Guys suck!

Guys always lose weight more easily than gals. It's just biology, not lack of trying on the ladies' part. (But still not fair).

Not seeing the scale change can be frustrating, but sometimes it's better to go by inches lost, or how your clothes fit, than by the scales...when you're doing any kind of resistance training, even walking, and gaining muscle...muscle is very dense and very heavy, so it's possible to even GAIN weight even if you're slimming down and losing fat.
Keep up the good work!

Well, I hope you all have a good weekend gals.

I did another video workout on Thursday and did a bit of a power-walk this morning.

That said, I succumbed to chocolate yesterday. Sigh. But boy, oh boy it was tasty

Keep up the good work!
