Exercise buddies?

I have decided that I am taking the plunge this month! Since I can't actually do any treatments I am really going to try to kick start my health and lost some of this IF-medication pooch!!! My goal is to work out (walking, ect.) for at leat 1/2 hour 4 times a week, plus limiting my calories to 1000 a day. I have really been wanting to commit to this for awhile so I figure what better time than now! The key is that I really need some buddies to motivate me! Anyone want to join up and keep each other motivated to get healthy or healthier?

Stephanie,

I'm on your wavelength and I'd love to one of your exercise buddies. I've been on a break since my August cycle and I, too, decided to use the break to get my weight back under control following all of the stims. I recommitted myself to Weight Watchers and so far I've lost 6 pounds. I would really like to lose a total of 15 before my next cycle but that's easier said then done.
What's your goal?

Can I join too?

I really need this right now. I am in holding pattern after ectopic pregnancy and surgery last week. I walked one mile on my tread mill in half an hour and it felt like 10 miles. Before my FET in Aug. I had lost thirty pounds and was in great shape. I am still sown in weight, but I am afraid I have lost quite a bit of muscle due to being off exercise for one month.

Stephanie- I am not an expert and I know nothing about your body. It just seems like to me 1000 cals is too low. I have read a lot about how your body conserves cals when your intake is too low. The body does this by holding onto fat. It is a starvation mechanism we all have. I restricted too much and did not loose weight. When I fed my body the right way I started to loose a lot of weight. I'd be happy to share more of this with you if you are interested.

Thanks for joining! My plan is to lose 5 pounds before my next cycle...I would love to lose 30 pounds altogether, but small steps at a time!

Kay, I used that diet before....my goal is just to keep my calories that I take in under the calories that I burn each day. I plan to eat healthier meals and watch my portion sizes. When I did this diet before I lost weight slowly, which is good. I would be interested to hear more about what you are doing though.

I'm not counting cals. I am eating every two hours to help keep my metabolism burning all the time. I have also increased the amount of fiber I have every day. I try to get 25(grams I think) of fiber a day. This helps keep the appitite down. I start with a high fiber cereal like Fiber One and make sure I have fiber at every meal. I am also eating fresh fruits and veggies and low fat protien. I do treat myself though because if I just deprive I will rebel! Costco has some great treats... Skinny Cow ice cream bars and Healthy Choice Fudgecicles. I also choose one day a week to eat whatever I want.
My excercise routine (will work up to) will be one hour treadmill 4 days per week and three days a week of weight training.
I don't want to loose much more weight, maybe five to eight pounds, but I do want to be healthy and in good shape. I am 40 and I really want to prepare for that pregnancy that I am praying for.

I would love to join ladies. I have gained close to 20 pounds over the past three years of TTC. I lost 3 lbs this past week! I have been walking about 2 1/2 miles in 35 minutes with a neighbor 4 times a week. I have also been cutting down on what I am eating and trying to eat as many fresh fruits and veggies that I can.

Katrina... great job on the weight loss!! Wow your walking pace is great. It sure must be nice to have a walking partner! Keep up the good work.

Maybe we could all state our goals so we know how to support one another.
My goal: loose 9 more pounds
work up to one hour tredmill at 3.5 to 4.0 pace and follow weight training routine 3 days per week.

Yea!!! I am so excited to have people to root each other on! I am working out tonight after work for at least 30 minutes....I really want to do an hour, but I am setting a small goal. If I make it to 30 minutes I will hopefully continue on. I weighed myself last night for the first time in a month and let's just say that the numbers are frightening. If I don't do something I am going to blow up like the goodyear blimp from all of this medication!!!! I seriously have gained 10 pounds just this month alone!

I would love to do some more weightlifting. Unfortunately I can only do weightlifting with my legs because of the pacemaker. Anything I do with my arms is incredibly uncomfortable.

I would love to join you ladies!!!! I have gained around 45lbs starting the infertility journey. I really can't help but wonder if that is somehow affecting my fertility. I am 5'9 and weigh 220 lbs now!! I really would like to lose about 70 lbs to feel good. I am an emotional eater and we all know that Infertility is definately an emotional journey. I have cut out soft drinks all together and have started eating more fresh veggies. I am going to work on portion control. I will also do my eliptical and some weight training 4 times a week for 30 min. It will be so great to have a support system to lose the weight. My DH started with me last year and lost 50 lbs in 6 months I had only lost 20. Needless to say I was discouraged! Thanks so much for starting this Cryinginside!!!

This is a Great Idea...Take our minds off of all the
Infertility Crap that we go through...
I personally have worked out what seems like everyday of my life, I have to if I am going to feel good about myself!
Crazy scenario though...I have been meaning to start a post about this...But at my first visit with my RE...He thought he needed to tell me to go home and gain 15 lbs...I think he is NUTS!!! I am 5'7" and I weigh 136lbs...I am a perfect weight in my opinion...My body fat is fine and I am NO marathon Runner or whatever!!!!
I have actually been lax on things since he said this in March...But I still do a Pilates Crunch video nightly and then I vary with miles afterwards...Somewhere between 1 mile and 2...That is with the video at night!!! I do this at least 4 nights a week, I give myself Friday through Sunday off!!! I feel really UCK if I don't workout...
My DH and I eat healthy foods all week long, we are an Organic Family...Mostly Organic foods and we only drink water or coffee in the am...Never Soda...I do like teas...Green teas, Pomagrante teas...
We love to do outdoor activities, we love to get outside anytime the weather is Good!!!
Anyway...Enough about what I do...BUT...Ladies, I can tell you that you all will feel Great emotionally and physically...I am right here joining you and cheering you on!!!!!!!! I think that in doing this...Our bodies are much more ready to carry as well as conceive a baby!!!
So right on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, first let me say, if you LOVE ice cream as much as I LOVE ice cream, please treat yourself to a Weight Watcher's Giant Fudge Pop. They are only 1 point on the WW plan and they taste just like chocolate ice cream! I push myself through the day just to treat myself to one at night (lol). Um, I'm 5'1 and I teeter totter between 190 and 195. Right now I'm at 195 and I'm extremely depressed about it. My lowest was 180 and I'd kill to be there again. The charts say I should be around 135, my RE said he'd be happy to see me at 175 but my genetics suggest 180 is the best I can do. I've been thinking about going back to Atkins. What about you ladies?

Thanks Kay....I have to re-read the posts every time LOL! How is everyone doing today? I have actually been doing really good despite the candy in the machine down the hall! We have an employee weight room here at work and I brought all of my stuff in to change so I am heading straight there in about an hour and then going home to take my dog on a nice long walk (she is a chuncky butt too!).
