Does anyone watch 'The Biggest Loser'? That is a great show. And they teach so much there you can learn by watching. I think it is motivating as well. It comes on Tuesday nights I believe.

So I have to ask. How do you ladies avoid the temptation when you are out to eat celebrating a friend's dinner? Last night, I went out with one of my friend's for her birthday. My dinner wasn't what I was worried about. The waiter brought out a sundae for her birthday and I couldn't help myself when she shared it with me. After I got home, I went for a long walk to burn off the calories (even though it was 9 at night)

I think you did good with the friend's party. You didn't eat it all by yourself and you walked afterward. I feel that I cant deprive myself of everything or else I will cave and have a binge. Everything in moderation. And I think doing a little extra workout when you have something like that is a good idea.

Msnoonoo..........It sounds like you did well. You split the sundae and you walked that evening. I think you should be commending yourself. I agree with Mia if I deprive myself of something, I end up caving and eating way too much of it. If I know that I am going out to eat, I modify what I eat throughout the day so I can splurge a little at dinner.

Grits - I watch the Biggest Loser too. It's a great show! I always love to see the update from the person who got voted off.

MsNooNoo - It sounds like you did great at your friend's dinner! I think that as long as you eat right most of the time, it's ok to splurge every now and then. It's about making a lifestyle change and it's not reasonable to think you can't ever eat something that's bad for you. If you are like me, when I deprive myself I usually end up eating alot of things to try to satisfy my hunger...those foods never work and then I end up eating what I was craving anyway! So treat yourself sometimes! You took a walk afterwards, so you should be PROUD of yourself! Great job!!!!

I think Ladybug is right. If you tell yourself you cannot have something ever you are setting yourself up for failure. Like Mia said, moderation is key. And you have to have a little cheat every now and then. When I was losing the weight after dd (I had gained 45lbs), I always had a cheat day on Sunday. So I never said I could not have it. I just had to wait until Sunday. I also ate a piece of dark dove chocolate every day.

Sorry ladies we had a busy weekend. I also love the Biggest Loser! It is so inspiring. While I still have quite a bit of weight to lose I am giving myself a day per month to have anything I want and once I get to 200 lbs I will give myself 2 days per month and so on. It sounds like everyone is doing a great job! I always try to make sure that if I am going to be eating extra then I do a harder work out. Mrs NooNoo it sounds like you are doing a great job pulling in the extra walking even though it is not the easiest time. GREAT WORK!!!

So, today in during class when I have my cheerleaders, I attempted to do a work out video with them. What an experience! Let's just say I realize even more so today that I have no coordination. It was one of those cardio dance videos. Nonetheless, it was fun and I will probably do it again tomorrow.

I'm going to jump in too!! Between my 2nd & 3rd ivf I had a 6 month break where I worked really hard at getting healthy, I lost about 18 lbs. Now that my 3rd ivf is over I've definately gained some back. I start FET in April so I really want to loose weight again.
I was really bad at skipping breakfast, I'm not a morning person and I hate cereal. Well, I started eating Bran Buds by All Bran. Which sounds so gross but 1/3 of a cup = 1 serving. I found the only way I was able to eat it is if I add 1/3 nonfat plain yogurt plus berries or a bannana and mix it all up. I eat it on my way to work in the morning. It's actually really GOOD! and adds lots of fiber! I can go all the way to lunch without feeling hungry.
I also am bad about snacking after work before dinner. I have an hour and half before dh gets home so if I'm just around the house I'm definately more tempted to snack. So, when I get home I go straight to the bedrm change and take the dog for a 45 minute walk. I think it's 2-3 miles. By the time I get home I have energy to make dinner and get some chores done before dh gets home. Since we've had a horrible winter I have not done this for over 2 months because it's way too cold & snowy. I can't wait to start this again b/c it helped so much! I've been such a couch potato!
I like hearing what others do to help keep this IF weight off.

Well i splurged. This weekend my only biological sibling (joe) came home from NC for 3 days. He is in the Marines and is deploying for Afganastan on the 7th so we celebrated his home coming by eating all weekend. lol. I am going back on track and hope to not loose sight. Dh made some great Chicken and Rice soup last night yummmy and it was healthy. i had mostly broth we also shared a platter the night before when we went out to eat so that was a good idea and did alot of walking. really neat how everyones ideas are coming out.

Quizno's has these great little things called sammies. They are rather low cal. They are about the size of a taco. They have about 5 different kinds. I had two small black angus steak w/ vinagrette and water for about 400 cal. They were really good. Just thought I would throw that in for some of you maybe looking for a change...........I'm so bored with salad and sandwiches for lunch. This was a great alternative for me.
