TTC and lost

My husband and I have been ttc for over a year. Now the crazy part. Well, he lives in Canada and I live in the US. I have been flying there when I am ovulating. He is there due to immigration reasons. Pending the process he will be home in 18 months. I do not want to wait until that long.

We are thinking about seeing a fertility specialist. I just wanted to know if that is an option for us. Do they require both to be present?

Do I have any choices or do I just sit and wait.

You should be able to have testing done separately. I'm a single mom, so I had my own testing done. They do blood work at various points during your cycle to check your hormone levels, and they may do what i call the "coochie dye test," by shooting a dye through your girlie parts then watching it on u/s to make sure you don't have any blockages. And your dh can have his sperm count checked in Canada.

I can't think of any reason to delay just because your are geographically separated.

Good luck,

k.

Would I choose a doctor here or in Canada? Do I just explain my story to the doctor?

I would recommend contacting a doctor in both areas and see what they recommend. If you continue traveling TO your husband during your fertile time, you might want to get a doctor there in the event that you need a procedure done.

Our RE recommended that we both be there for the initial consultation, after that, it didn't seem to matter.

Good luck!
