New, Nervous and Need Support

I've never posted in a forum before. I'm 37 yo (38 next month). TTC 2 yrs, but b/c of my age, we went the infertility route after only 6 mos of trying. So far, I've had 3 failed Clomid cycles, 3 failed IUIs and 1 failed IVF. I'm in the middle of my 2nd IVF (transfer was last Sunday, HCG scheduled for 2/9). I'm trying to think positive, but am having a really difficult time. Does anyone have any advice??

My best advice is to relax as much as possible during your two week wait. Welcome to the forum and to the extended family. Please keep us posted.

to the foum Laura.I am sorry to hear about your failed cycles.Past failures do make it difficult to be positive for another attempt but you would find a lot of people in the forum who have succeded after several attempts.I am sure their stories would give you more faith and hope.Just try to relax and think positive. All the best!!!

I wish you the best this time around!! The only advice that I have is to be good to yourself and pray for the strength to handle whatever lies ahead. It doesn't stop me from obsessing...but it helps me stay focused.

Keep us posted.

Welcome to this forum!! I hope you don't have to stay here too long!

I know its hard to stay positive. Try to relax and do some hobbies that you like. When ever you feel down or scared, just write to us. You will surely get lots of words of kindness and support from folks who totally understand.

Good luck with your 2nd IVF. I pray that you have your baby in your arms soon

Hi there. I joined about 2 weeks ago myself. We are going through our two week wait right now and we've had several attempts also. I don't know if you have the option to take time off work, but for me I choose to take the two weeks off. Keeps me focused, relaxed, eating right, taking all my meds as scheduled and resting. I am about to try a meditation tape for the first time - so we'll see how that goes. Take care and I wish you all the best!!! Keep smiling!

Welcome to the forum...I hope you find what you need to keep on going in your journey. I am also 37 and after 3.5 years and my 5th IUI, during our last attempt I did get pregnant and am now a Mom!!!! It really does happen for ALOT of people. I found that whenever I was waiting that if I planned for what we would do next if we were not pregnant I was able to stay more focused and not get all caught up in the "poor me"..."I'll never be a Mom"...."Why everybody else" scene. Also I talked to ALOT of people and frineds and family during our struggles. GOOD LUCK!!!! I loook forward to hearing good things.

This is a great forum - very supportive and informative.

I just finished my 2ww and staying positve was the hardest part. I basically kept myself occupied with cooking and reorganizing my house and office -

Hi,

I also am 37 years old. We have been trying for 1 1/2 years with no luck.

My husband was in a previous marriage and had a vasectomy in 1998. He divorced then remarried (me!) and reversed it in Oct 2005.

We have been trying since to get PG with no luck. I was also married before and never got PG in my first marriage (after 7 years of marriage with no birth control).

After the vasectomy reversal, hubby's motility was 25%. We had an IUI last month and it did NOT take. So, I figured we better get another sperm analysis. The doctor said his motility is now ZERO PERCENT??? They want him to see a Urologist and he cannot get in until mid-March. I am soooo frustrated.

Does anyone have experience with low motility, vasectomy reversals or thyroid issues? I am hyperthyroid/Graves Disease on top of it all although I am no longer on meds as my levels have been normal for 6 months. They think my Graves is in remission.

I am looking to learn from you all and hope I can offer support in return.

Sincerely,
Lisa
