Newbie in NJ

Hi I found this site and I am glad I found you guys, I need all the support I can get. My Dh 29 and I 28 are TTC our 1st child and its been a bumpy road, I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2005 and been to so many drs and having to start over all the time. We are now set with insurance that actually helps pay for infertility, so i saw a new ob/gyn on 6/14 and started provera and prenatel viatmins, next we see a RE on july 10th. I am looking for support from others and help. I want to start accupunture but dont know
Please help me
Melissa

Hi there! I haven't tried acupuncture, but I seem to remember reading a post from someone else who did. How exciting that your insurance will cover some of this!! I will be attending my first doc appt on the 26th. Let us know how yours goes!

Hi fellow Jersey Girl...

Listen it's all a process - and you have to start somewhere..so try what you can. The process of each infertility treatment is not only costly but stressful. Which you don't need stress increased on this journey.

Whatever questions you have please ask. There is SO much information on this site and SO MANY AWESOME ladies to chat with...enjoy and good luck!!

Hello Melissa!

are you not sure about doing acupuncture? If it is of any help, my RE suggested it saying there was some evidence that it could help and it wouldn't hurt. The acupuncturist is supportive (more personal treatment), plus she does needles to help relieve stress!

good luck to you!

Hi Melissa - If you are looking toward doing acupucture then get a much history as possible. I have been to a couple and the best one that I found was a guy who trained in Iraq, strange I know but I remember asking a lot of questions before I went and I was told that they are in such a demand in North America that the schools are pushing them through, I also heard that the techniques that they practice overseas takes double the amount of time to learn as here and you need different qualifications. Not sure if this is true or not, but look into it and see what you can find out. I didn't see any benefit from taking it, but there are others that swear by it, I guess it's all in how often you go and what your belief system is.
