Question one fetus, one empty sac

I went through my IVF treatment in May. After having a positive pregnancy test, I had an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed one fetus with a heart beat and one empty sac. The technitions and the doctors were confused, and my doctor started talking about a possible miscarriage and ovarian contortion/contusion. the nurses at the IVF clinic I went to don't seem too worried, however my doctor here has me kinda scared. Has this ever happened to anyone?

This hasn't exactly happened to me, but it is fairly common. I assume your RE transferred two (or more) embryos? It looks like two implanted but one stopped growing early on. The empty sack should be reabsorbed by your body and not affect the other growing one.

This happened to me after my IVF. I had one fetus, who is now my 3 year old daughter, and one empty sac. My RE had said that it would resolve on its own and get reabsorbed, which it did. Try not to worry about it! Good luck!
