Aspirin during pregnancy?

If I ever decide to attempt another pregnancy, I will be required to take aspirin and blood thinners to help prevent another miscarriage. I am understandably concerned about the safety of these meds and their effect on the deveoping fetus.

Does anyone know about the safety of aspirin during pregnancy?

Thanks in advance for any info!

Baby Asprin was part of my protocol for IVF. I took it most of my pregnancy with no effects. It is suppose to increase blood supply to the uterus to make it soft and cushy. Good luck!

Aspirin/Heparin

I too am on the low dose aspirin protocol. There are no negative side effects with aspirin. In fact during my last treatment cycle we used heparin (blood thinner) because my RE said it is an empiricle treatment for thyroid antibodies which I have. Now I am doing treatment for NK cells and some other immune problems so I will be continuing to do heparin ongoing when ttc and during pg if I ever get there! The injections leave horrible bruises and it's no fun at all.

Has anyone else here done heparin injections? Has anyone figured out a way to minimize bruising?

Slobin-
Other than the bruising, were there any side effects from the Heparin? My OB/GYN told me that it is usually pretty well tolerated, but I have reservations about using such a potent drug during pregnancy. I have read that blood thinners can cause some serious problems. What were your experiences with the Heparin?

Thanks!

I have been taking it since January, when I found out that I had that MTHFR mutation. I have been religious about taking it and did so all though this cycle and am still taking it now.
