Exclamation Looking for women to interview for a book

I am currently on leave from nursing school (where I was on track to become a midwife) to work on a book on infertility remedies. I am 28 years old and received a degree in writing and biology before I went to nursing school. I became passionate about infertility after working with many patients who struggled with it as well as my own first hand experience.

Anyway, I began researching infertility years ago and have done so much research over the years on the remedies associated with it - I decided to write a book. One piece of research I haven't done yet (perhaps the most important) is to reach out and get first hand accounts from women who have tried various infertility treatments.

I wondered if it would be okay with the moderators and the members here if I reached out to you. I am curious to hear stories of women who have succeeded to overcome infertility with natural remedies (vitex, donq quai, iron supplements, B12...etc) or diet and lifestyle change? Also, has anyone been treated with antibiotics for infertility?

I appreciate any responses and hope it's okay that I'm here. I look forward to reading each and every person's response.

So you know, I would never use any information given to me without prior authorization - I'm only looking for information and testimonials.

Thanks again!
Alexis

Hi Alexis - I think it's great you want to get more information out there for people experiencing IF so good luck to you. In our situation, we went the Western medical route (clomid, IUI, IVF and finally donor egg IVF ending in a BFP). Never tried the other natural remedies you mention.

Yep, feel free to PM me, too.

I'd be interested in knowing more about the natural remedies.
I have had clomid fertility medicine along with IUI procedure 3 times....

feel free to PM me. I would love to know my story helped another couple continue to hold on to hope. I also went the scientific route. I am considered unexplained so we still have no reason for our IF but we have our son and that is all that matters to us.

Good luck on your book and thank you for writing about our struggles. many people do not realize the toll it takes on us.

Hi Alexis,
I just saw your thread. I went through 2 cycles of IVF that failed but then got pregnant on my own through the help of an accupuncturist, herbs, diet and lifestyle changes, and a lot of hope! Feel free to PM me if you want more details.

Good luck!

Hello. I'm new here. I am 21 years old and have been TTC for 2 years on October 19th 2006, which is also my wedding date. My health insurance doesn't cover infertility testing or treatments, and my husband and I are too poor to pay for it out of pocket. I will be 7 years infertile when I go to my husband's country, as hopefully he'll get a job to support us after he gets his master degree. My husband will be 30 in October. Feel free to PM me or IM me on one of my messengers.

I would definitely be interested in speaking with you about your new venture! As you can see in my signature below, I had 3 failed IVF's and was told my only option to have a baby was to consider adoption or donor eggs. I took Royal Jelly and Bee Pollen in Honey, ate ALL hormone free meats, as much organic fruit/veggies that I could, a glass of green tea (homemade = no preservatives) and pomegranate juice per day (super high antioxidant level), started walking 2-3 miles 4-5 days a week religiously to get the blood pumping, and kept positive and went on about my life. I tried not to let the infertility consume me...I read that it takes 3 months (as with most herbal/supplemental treatments) to see optimal results (it only took 2 months for me) so I was pretty much going with the flow and ready to focus on the following month.

I actually got a lot of my information from reading "The Infertility Cure" by Randine Lewis. I tried acupuncture months before I got pregnant, but I didn't like it at all...and I didn't follow her food suggestions based on my symptoms (to not eat cold foods or certain foods, etc.). I probably would have considered that at a later time.

Feel free to PM me...good luck with your book! ...Carie
