Molar Pregnancy

So I just found out that I have a BFP. I am so excited about it, but keep telling myself, I still need to get through the first ultrasound and hear the heartbeat. While I wait for that day to come, I have been researching what could be a possible problem that occurs, and I know all the usual things, Ectopic Pregnancy (which I already know it isn't cause my hCG level was too hight they said), misscarriage/no heartbeat, but I just read about this Molar Pregnancy. And I in no ways am trying to scare anyone, but I am now worried about it!

Here is the information I read about it:
Molar Pregnancy : American Pregnancy Association

Am I being ridiculous? Am I being stupid? I am so scared now that I could have a major problem now.

They said that my hCG levels are now in the 1000s, and I am about 4 1/2 weeks along (2 1/2 weeks pregnant). I just keep praying that everything will be okay and that I will hear that little heartbeat!!!!

Laura - First of all, congrats on your pregnancy!! That's wonderful! I just want to say, and keep in mind that I have no firsthand experience with this, so I'm sure it's easier said than done, but it seems like the best thing to do is relax and enjoy your BFP for now. I'm of the mind to not invite trouble and stress into my life. Sure it crashes my party upon occassion, but I'm happier if I don't seek out the worst case scenario. I think it's good to be knowledgeable about things but take it easy and enjoy this time. I know that's hard when you're used to getting bad news...but now it's finally your turn to celebrate though so enjoy it! I wish you the best!

I know it is much easier said then done but enjoy your BFP for what it is right now and stop worrying. It goes by so quickly that before you know it you've spent your pregnancy with months full of what if worries. I did the same and is the one thing I regret.

I was worried about the same because my first beta was 492 and second was 1400 48 hrs. later and my husband is from the Philippines where molar pregnancies happen at a higher rate. But my Dr. assured me that it is very rare and there was nothing to worry about. For some reason it happens at a higher rate to women in South America and South Pacific Islands but some other articles attribute that to lack of prenatal care. Just relax because what is stressing you will stress your baby. Congratulations and good luck.

Thank you both for your nice responses. I know I shouldn't be looking at anyone on the computer, cause all it will do is stress the crap out of me... but when the nurse called and said that my hCG level was high I was curious as to what that meant, and I stumbled onto this. I do pray that I am healthy and the baby is healthy, adn I thank you both for your insight into this.

Congrats on the BFP! My betas were really high in the beginning too and I did the same thing you did-Google it! Big mistake, I scared the whooey out of myself and thought for sure something was wrong. My RE assured me it was just a sign of a healthy pregnancy and he was right. I'm 22 weeks with no complications and from what we can tell so far, we have a perfectly healthy baby. Try to stay away from Google. It will scare you more than it will help-believe me. If I have a question, I post it here. I like getting the first hand accounts from people that have been through a similar situation. btw-you can check out my betas in my siggy.
