How much does iui and ivf cost? Does any insurance cover it?

Lala-

that everything goes great with both babies. I was the opposite of you... always wanted to have twins because I thought it would be fun. Now that it is a definite possibility I am kind of freaking out. I am 5'2" and weigh about 115 lbs so I am worried it will be pretty stressful on my body. DH swears up and down there are two peanuts in there so I guess we will find out tomorrow!

Airmansbaby- Congrats on seeing the h/b! It has to seem more real now?! I can't wait to see my little black dot(s) tomorrow. Is that all they look for on an u/s so early? Just a dot in the right place? I will be 5w3d.

Richochet- I am lucky enough to have my insurance cover my IVF. A lot don't though. According to my RE, IUIs are around a couple thousand each try and IVF is about 8,000. I haven't gotten my 'explanation of benefits' yet from the IVF treatment so I don't know what the total cost ended up being and how much the insurance actually covered. I think sometimes IVF can be close to 20,000 so it all depends on your insurance and your RE's office.

AFM- feeling really bloated and looking

! Only 5 weeks so it worries me a little that I might gain a lot, I hope not though. Looking forward to my U/S tomorrow. Been busy lately so I haven't been thinking about it too much but today I am really anxious because I haven't been doing anything. Can't wait to see how many peanuts I have! Have a great week ladies. Yeah, at 5w they can't really see much, they just wanna confirm that the sac is forming and make sure your bean/beans is/are implanted in a good spot.

Next week you'll be able to see the yolk sac and h/b, but your bean(s) will still be tiny, so you can't make out much. But it's soooo reassuring to know that they're in there and doing well.

And all of this still feels so surreal. Even after 2 u/s's, all the betas, and the HPT. I'm still like, hey, I'm pregnant! It's so weird. Like, if someone asks me to go out and have a drink for their birthday, I'm like, "I'll join you, but I won't be drinking because I'm pregnant", and it still sounds foreign to me. I feel like this is a dream and I'm gonna wake up from it at any moment. lol

Hi girls- I had my u/s today and RE said everything looked great. It was too early for a heartbeat but I have one little bean growing in the right spot! A little disappointed it wasn't two but it is probably better that it is only one. I'm not that big of a girl. Anyway, my RE is going to be out of town next week so I called my OB to do my next US and they can't get in me in for 2 weeks. I cannot wait that long so we are going to an indpendent radiology center to have it done next Monday. Anyone else been to one of those for an US? How is everyone else doing?

Also, when my RE was doing the US he thought there maybe was another sack but said he didn't think it was. What could that have been? I've never had cysts or anything so I'm confused. Anyone know?

AFM - My next u/s is Friday.

I hear my lil man's heartbeat! Not too many symptoms going on here- occasional nausea (no vomiting yet), moodiness, frequent heartburn (I hardly ever got heartburn before I was pg), and I have to get up to pee a few times a night (I never got up during the night before). Also, I get the hiccups 3+ times a day. Wierd? IDK. lol My friend Lexie says there's an old wives tale that if you have a lot of hiccups during your pregnancy, your baby will have a lot of hair. If this has ANY truth to it, I'll probably give birth to a gorilla! lol

saw 2 heartbeats today! Yes, it's official! Both blasts took and I'm having TWINS! So excited And nervous at the same time! Hope all is well with u all!

Hi Guys -

Sorry it took me so long to check in! I saw my regular RE last week and he showed us two little heartbeats, so it's official - I'm having twins. I am happy, but I have been freaking out as well. I just wasn't prepared for twins! There's so much to figure out now (bigger house, bigger car, and no money to do it with). I seem to alternate between extreme happiness and crying hysterically.

I go to the RE for the last time tomorrow. He said I am all good so I can return to my regular OB/GYN. I'll be seeing him next week. I hope he is ready to deal with one huge emotional basket case!

OOOHHHH TWINS!!! I know you're a wee bit nervous (understatement) about how you will manage two infants and a toddler, but I know you'll be able to adapt!

AFM - DH will be home in 4 days. FINALLY!! I've only been able to talk to him 3 times in the last 8 weeks, and only for a couple minutes each time, so we haven't really talked a lot about the baby. We have our last appointment w/ the RE 2 days after he gets home (8w5d), and this will be his first time at one of my appointments, so I'm excited.

I'm not an emotional lunatic yet. Been really crampy the last couple days; hoping it's just a combination of the progesterone and things stretching in there. I've had wicked heartburn lately, occasional nausea, but that's about it (so far! lol).

Today i had my 8 week ultrasound and saw my 2 babies heartbeats again....beating like champs, that's what my dr says. hehe

We actually got to record right off of the U/S machine on a VHS..it's pretty cool.

BePositive that is great! Are you showing yet? Everyone keeps warning me that I'm going to be even bigger with twins. I think I am definitely already showing, but I guess I'm not objective! Are you going to find out the sexes?

Sorry I've been MIA for a while. DH got home from basic training a week ago, so we've been doing a lot of bonding and catching up.
