Hi Everyone! Today was ET day! There really was nothing to it. I was told to arrive at the office at 9:30 for the procedure at 10:00. As soon as I got there, they lead me & DH up to the surgi center. The nurse came in, got me prepped and said the doctor would talk to us before I went in to the operating room.

I had 13 eggs, but only 5 fertilized and I was nervous about how many were being transferred. When he came in, he explained how they rate the embryos (there's a scale of 1-5 and A-E). Anyway, he said one of my embryos was deformed so he tossed it, one stopped developing, and I think the 3rd was developing too slowly. Anyway, I remember one egg was a 3C - it was hard to keep track of everything he was saying! In the end, he recommended he implant the two most successful eggs. I was a little surprised that there would be none left, but I guess that solved the problem of whether to freeze them or not.

Anyway, the procedure was pretty fast. He used the operating room again, but there was no medication or anything this time. He showed me everything he was doing on the ultra sound and was done in about 10 minutes. Afterwards, I had to lay with my feet elevated for 20 minutes. Then they told me to use the bathroom and head on out.

So I'm not sure what I'm feeling (mentally) today. I am so grateful to already have a daughter, but the thought of going through all this and having it not work is tough. I go back on Tuesday for just bloodwork, and then the pregnancy test is scheduled for June 9.

I will keep everyone posted!!!

Lala- Sending you lots of ! I hope you
are laying down and will be for 3 days. That's really important. Did they tell you all this? Girl, you have 2 blasts put in, right? Which means that they are 5 days old. That's really great . This waiting will
be tough. I started doing hpt's a week after ET. Everyday. Don't do it, it'll make you crazy! But, I'm just saying how crazy I was through this. You'll have your soon. Keep thinking positive and I hope you are using your laptop to communicate with all of
us. You had 13 eggs, so I'm nervous about only having 5! OH OH! Maybe, they'll get more out. I'll
find out tomorrow, right? Do they call the same day or the next day to let you know how many eggs?

bepositive- I hated those prog. shots! All I remember is that I used to make DH ice the area before he inserted those big needles. It made it numb so that when he inserted the big fat needle, it didn't hurt so much. Have him massage area gently. I hope you don't have to do this for 12 weeks! YIKES!

I hope all is well with everyone.

Hey Amber!

Next to those **** progesterone shots, waiting out the two weeks is the hardest part! I'm going to try to see my friends a little more this week - I live in the middle of nowhere NJ, so for me to get to "civilization" it's like a 45 - 60 min drive and then I usually spend the day. I'm also a really big crafter so my plans will definitely include a lot of beading and a lot of digital scrapbooking. I have to keep myself distracted!!! Is there a big, time-consuming (but low intensity) project you can throw yourself into? Or a few new books you want to check out?

(By the way - I also have a 6-month old daughter that demands most of my time, so I am sure she will keep me focused. I just never know how much to bring her up - I know when I was going through this the first time it was tough to keep hearing about babies so I always try to watch my "baby talk").

Hey Lala. You girls keep talking about these dreaded progesterone shots. My doctor didn't give me the injectable progesterone, he gave me the vaginal inserts, which I HATE. I'd much rather stab myself with a needle. I'm a lil chubby, so I don't feel the injections as much. lol

I'm trying to stay as busy as humanly possible without wearing myself out. Today I was upholstering the seat from my friend's car, so that took up the whole day.

I usually always have my nose in a book, but lately I've had so much on my mind that I have to keep re-reading the words over and over again because I'm not paying attention to them, so that's a no go. Perhaps tomorrow I'll do some papercrafting or something. Who knows.

I can't speak for everyone, but I definitely don't mind you talking about your daughter. She's a blessing, and I'm happy for you that you were able to experience pregnancy and childbirth. Every woman deserves to be able to have kids if she wants them.

I'm kinda freakin' out, because today I started feelin crampy, like I do a day or two before AF. It seems to have subsided a little. I was up and down a lot today, so maybe it was just from that? I hope so.

Hey Amber & Everyone!

The progesterone shots seem to be hurting me much less lately. The thing is - the needle is really long and its in for a while because the sesame oil is thick and tougher to inject. I was really sore the first couple of days, but the last day or two they haven't bothered me at all.

I know what you mean about feeling like AF is coming, but when I was pregnant I still had monthly cramps from time to time. I thought that was all supposed to stop, but apparently, it's normal. I was feeling really nauseous today and for a second I thought, "morning sickness?" but then I figured it was probably too many potato chips... that seems more like me!

Keep yourself busy and keep a positive focus (although I know how incredibly hard it is)! Try the paper crafting and see if that distracts you. The best thing for me was always beads - I think I need to touch something, but not something that requires too much thought.

Just wanted to tell you I also checked out your blog (I'm your follower)! You're doing a great thing documenting your journey. I keep meaning to sit down and write my own notes but I can't seem to focus long enough!

Hang in there and I'll be thinking you and all of us on this journey!

Thanks so much for the encouragement. It's much needed. It's hard doing all this with DH away in basic training. I mean, I can write to him all I want, but it takes a letter about 3 days to get there, and I don't know how often they give him an opportunity to write letters. It would be a LOT harder without you and the other women here helping me out. I'm so grateful to have you guys here!

Tabby- You were up to no good... doing injections in your car? Did anyone see you?

Lala- Thanks for sharing your ET experience. Now I will know what to expect tomorrow. I'll be that your embabies stick. And I don't mind at all that you talk about your daughter! We obviously all love children or we wouldn't be going through this!

wantbaby2- did you get a fert report yet? Hope all is well.

Airmansbaby- I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get good news Friday. Have you POAS yet? If you haven't, I am impressed! The progesterone shots hurt worse than any of the others, if you ask me. My RE has me doing them every 3 days and will start the suppossitories on the days in between after ET.

AFM- I am going for my ET tomorrow. I can't wait to have my embabies back!

Stephanie - Good luck with your ET tomorrow! Lots of heading your way!

Haven't POAS yet. Although it is very tempting (I have a box of 2 in my night stand), I'm so scared that I'm gonna end up with a false positive, so I'll leave it up to my doctors to tell me. I've waited this long, I guess 2 more days won't kill me. I'm nervous, though, because for the last 2 days I've felt like AF's gonna come. IDK if it's really gonna happen, or if my body is just confused. Before this, I was on BCP continuously to try to control the endo w/ no AF since July '08. So who knows. AF stays away!!!

Lala- Have you been feeling crampy the whole time after ET, or did it just start today? I was a little crampy right after my ET, but it went away by the time I left the doctor's office. I didn't feel much of anything until 4-5 days post transfer. Since then I've been feeling crampy every day. I've read some posts where women have reported feeling crampy while taking progesterone, and I looked at the side effects of the Prometrium that I'm taking, and cramps are listed as a side effect. So IDK. Hoping it's the progesterone and not AF on the way. I know how you feel, but can't exactly tell you what it is. Blahhh.. This sucks.

Hey Amber -

It just started yesterday. It started around 4:00 and I didn't want to call the doctor because it was after office hours (they close at 3:00). It didn't last very long, maybe 3-4 hours and it wasn't severe enough that I wanted to deal with an answering service. I figured if I had cramps bothering me today I would call, but today I felt fine. Maybe it's nerves catching up with me?

Anyway, Amber, I know tomorrow is your big day so I will be thinking postive thoughts and saying a special prayer for you! Please let us know how it goes and we'll be thinking of you!

Thank you so much! I've been so stressed out for the last 9 days. I can't believe tomorrow is almost here!! It's been a long wait.

The cramping could be from nerves/stress. It could be a number of things. Oh, the wonders of the human body! Just try to chill out, don't overdo it, and most of all, stay positive!!

I'm still crampy, I'm feeling kinda bloated, and my ovaries have been huritng. It kinda feels like OHSS did, so I'm gonna have them check tomorrow. I read that it can go away and come back, so we'll see what happens.

Uggghhh... sooo nervous. I'll definitely let you all know what I find out tomorrow.

for !!!
