Stephanie - it all depends on what brand test you were using. Some will pick up lower levels than others. My hCG on the first beta was only 50.6. The nurse told me that hCG after IVF is usually lower than a naturally-occuring pregnancy. I used a Clearblue Easy Digital the day of my beta, and according to Home Pregnancy Test hCG Levels & FAQ - Fertility Plus, it can read hCG levels as low as 50. Usually, they say even a faint line means positive. I would retest using a regular 3-minute test that measures a lower level of hCG, to avoid going absolutely crazy! Get 2 different brands, if you have to! lol

Did you have your blood test yesterday, or is it scheduled for a different date?

you get the result you're waiting for!!!

I caved!!!

Yes girls, I'm sorry but I POAS this morning at 5:30. I used the clearblue digital..I woke up at 12 am with stronger Cramps than usual and the last couple days I've been having really vivid dreams..but last night I dreamt that my friend was pregnant. I woke up to get ready for work and decided to POAS. It came out POSITIVE! My beta is not till Monday and I'm not 100% convinced until then. My trigger shot was on may 26 so today marks day 14 post trigger shot. I've been Reading that it takes about 10 days for it to fully get out of your system. I hope this Is true and I hope the positive is real. I'm so nervous. What are your thoughts??

bepositive - tsk tsk tsk! lol just kidding. According to the site in my last post, the clearblue digital measures hCG upwards of 50. I tried looking on the package and insert from my box of tests, but I wasn't able to find a number published by clearblue. Maybe I'll call them.

So if it really does measure 50+, then I'd say you're knocked up!!

Ok, so I called the Clearblue Digital help line, and the lady said that the test with the blue cap can detect 25+. I didn't think to ask her about the one with the white cap, but I would imagine it would be the same. I mean, why would they market the same test with 2 different sensitivities?

I'm still saying bepositive is knocked up.

I can't find the one I used on any of the lists or find anything online about the one I used. I am going to try not to worry about it. The doubling beta is all I care about anyway. I did have my beta yesterday but don't know the results yet. I think it is too early though. Bepositive and I had everything done the same day (trigger, ER and ET) and her's was today. If I had any hcg in my system yesterday it had to be really low if the HPT was still faint this morning. That is why I am scared to call the RE because I am sure it was super low yesterday and will have to wait for tomorrow's results anyway. I just want to know for sure already! I am already telling myself that I am pg and I feel more like it today than ever before. I think it is all in my head though. LOL!

hi again. Thanks for doing that Amber...yea, I used the one with the blue cap. I'm hoping I'm knocked up hehe. I wish my beta was sooner so I can know for sure. The stress of the wait is killing me.

Stephanie, I am telling myself this everyday to not stress so much until beta day. Cuz I guess this is why they tell us not to POAS cuz we just never know the truth till our actual blood test.

I'm still very nervous but I have nothing but positive thoughts and vibes for us!

Stephanie - where the heck did you get your HPT? It's kind of odd that you can't find it online or anything. Even some of the dollar store tests are on that list! lol

And you're right - the doubling beta is all that matters. Remember, my nurse said that IVF betas always start out a little low. Mine was 50.6, and then 3 days later it was 304, when they were only expecting it to be about 150. Try not to freak out.

Looking at your dates, it does seem a little soon. You're being tested only 6 days post transfer. My beta was 9 days post, and it was only 50, so I definitely wouldn't worry. I would imagine that if I POAS @ 6dpet, it would have been negative or faint as well, since my beta was only 50 @ 9dpet. This is starting to make a little more sense now. I definitely would not be disappointed about the faint line at this point!! Give it a few more days. You're knocked up too. I'm tellin ya. lol

I think I got it at Schnucks. It was a First Response Rapid Result and I don't see the Rapid Result on any of the lists. I also was on my clinic's forums and a girl that was in the last cycle said she had her beta 6dp5dt and it came out to be 10 the first time and then in the 70's the second time. So I guess they just like to test early. Anything over 5 is considered pg according to our RE, she said. So that is obviously not detectable by a hpt. I am very hopeful to find out tomorrow's results. I think I might actually be pg!

Hello everyone! I got my beta results but wanted to wait until DH knew before I told anyone else. Tuesday's was 17 and today's was 50! It more than doubled so I am officially ! We are so excited! It makes sense that my hpt was not very dark because I am just barely there. I think and hope that it is because they did my beta so early. 6dp5dt and 8dp5dt. What do you guys think? How many days past transfer are your betas? We go for our first US Monday the 22nd! I can't wait to find out how many peanuts I have and to find out if everything is okay.

Woo hooo!!!! Congratulations! I told you you were knocked up! :-p

See- they did do your first beta pretty darn early! lol My first one (50) was 9dp5dt. Today (15dp5dt) my hCG was 1742!

I had my first ultrasound today (4w6d, not 5w, b/c they didn't have any appts open tomorrow). It was awesome! One little tiny black spot! I see his heartbeat next Friday!

When's your EDD? They just changed mine from 2/11/2010 to 2/12/2010 ( I know, big difference, right? lol) My LMP was 5/7, but she counted back 2 weeks from ER, and that happened to be 5/8, so my EDD is 1 day later.

Congrats again! I'm soooo happy for you!!!!!!!!!!!

bepositive - for big numbers!! keep us posted! (oh, and your test happens to be on DH's birthday. lol)

Lala - thank you. I'm flattered. i don't think i have the patience for all that schooling, though... lol

OMG. I've been craving pizza for the last hour+, it's pouring outside so there's no way in hell I'm gonna attempt the 100-foot walk to my car, and the pizza place stopped delivering at 9:30. But I did manage to find a whole wheat wrap, some pasta sauce, and cheese... I'm MacGyver-ing it up!!!

hey ladies, guess what? WE'RE !!!!!

Hi girls!!!!

Got my beta today and it was BFP.

I don't really understand all the beta talk but he said I was at 1283. I am 12 days post 5 day transfer. He said it's a good number and now I just hope it rises. I have a good feeling though. I go back Wednesday for 2nd beta and then Friday for my first ultrasound. Verrry exciting!
