Too many follicles??? I'm confused...

Hi everyone! I'm relatively new to the forums though I visit almost every day. I recently returned from my one day work up at CCRM and apparently I have a ton of antral follicles but no PCOS. I had 18 on one side and 21 on the other. I don't know what's normal but apparently that's a lot. The ultrasound technician initially said I must have PCOS though she didn't see the "pearls" around the ovaries that is normally associated with PCOS. She counted each side 3 times, which of course freaked me out a bit. The RE said I don't have PCOS (based on lack of symptons, bloodwork & ultrasound) I just have an "abundance" of follicles, and he feels I won't need as many stim meds. I'm very concerned that I won't get enough meds and my follicles won't grow. Has anyone else had this issue?

I have not had this issue, but it sounds like it may be a good thing, less meds equal less money =) but they will monitor you and adjust as needed, so if they find that the meds are not enough I am sure they will up them...good luck!

Thanks Sarah. Congrats on your baby boy!! I guess I'm just concerned because the ultrasound tech and nurse both acted so shocked and didn't seem too positive about it. What is a normal number of follicles?
