If any of u could share with me what has happend at your consultations appointment so I know what to expect I would really appreciate it. I dont know if any of you have went to "Fertility and Sergical Associates of California" but thats where I'm going. (Dr.Buyelos) Thanks!

Hey Dani
On my first consult they took a history (they wanted to know all the tests my local ob/gyn did) and did a quick physical exam. I had bloodwork done. They also wanted my husband to get another semen analysis. I was scheduled for a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) to make sure my 'plumbing' was ok. We live in Virginia. I was nervous too, but mostly excited to finally see a fertility specialist. Best of luck to you!

At my first appt with the RE they took a history, did some blood tests and a brief exam. I remember walking out of their with a stack of instructions/prescriptions. I had to do a bunch of testing during my next AF and DH had to schedule a SA. I would suggest taking a notebook to maybe write down instructions or just anything that comes up that you might want to address later. It was a little overwhelming for me and I was also nervous. Good luck.

Thanks so much, I really appreciate u guys letting me know. I'm really hoping it's not much more than a hormone problem. Is there anything besides my medical records and a note book with questions I should bring. Have any of you had a problem with your DH not wanting to do a SA?

DH wasn't too thrilled about doing a SA, but he did agree to it. By that time I'd had so many embarrassing exams that I told him he was getting off easy.

My DH was a trooper. He had to give one for the local OB/Gyn and 2 for the specialist (initial consult and then for ICSI/IVF evaluation). I agree Peabody, I told my hubby at least he didn't have to go through repeated TV U/S, HSP, IUI, injections and surgeries!!
