my first few visit with my re's clinic and i always met with the np ...she is in charge of everyones schedules....i find she can relate to people a little better too lol...she has just as much experience as my dr.s but without the full title...i would go for the appt and find out the np credentials ...you may like what you find...good luck

To be honest, I prefer NP's to doctors. All but one of my IUI's were done by the nurses or NP's. My normal family practice health care provider is an NP, as was my first OB appt. They are usually much better at putting you at ease, just as knowledgeable, and typically more patient with questions. I would definitely still go for your appointment rather than miss your cycle. When I think of my experience at my RE's office, I saw my RE exactly three times (the first consult, my HSG, and to be released to OB)...I saw the other doctor twice because he was the weekend on-call guy, but the rest of the time was with the nurses or NP's and all turned out fine.
