lining question
hi, i'm wondering if anyone has experiences with success after thin lining. last month i was 7.4, today on ultrasound my lining is 4. this is my last month of clomid, which has obviously taken its toll.
did anyone get pregnant after having less than ideal lining? i'm moving on to gonal f/femara next month. any experiences with this combo improving lining? any responses will be appreciated! thank you!

I remember that on ultrasound right at ovulation my lining was 0.45 (that is the number they said--I am assuming it was 4.5 mm). The RE's nurse said that it was too thin to support a pregnancy, but I became pregnant and he is now 6 years old! Good luck!

I am actually in a similar situation and wondering the same thing. My lining a little over 7 and she said they prefer closer to a 10 but that many women get pregnant with a 7. I am going to take prometrium for the 2ww because I have been told that it helps with implantation.

thanks for getting back to me. i'm taking prometrium bid until
shows up or i get the best news ever. i know it won't help the lining but if that helps with implantation, great!i hear that these measurements are kind of subjective so differ depending on the u/s reader. also, that women get pregnant unmonitored all the time and no one has any idea what their lining is. i hope i have your luck, paige. thanks again!

I have a really good feeling for you! I remember talking with my OB about the nurse saying I had "no" lining. He said something similar to what you said about it being less objective and also that I had some lining and that was enough to work--or something like that. I just remember that he made me feel my lining was apparently fine for the pregnancy.
Now, the RE did put me on prometrium ASAP when they discovered that I was indeed pregnant--to maintain the lining. Good luck and keep us posted ![]() |

I had the same problem with my lining on chlomid. (Unfortunately it took me 7 months on it before I had switched to a doctor who actually checked the lining!) My specialist told me this is a well known side affect of chlomid that affects a good % of the population that they try it on -- and not to worry that there were other options out there -- and they were right! I have had much better lining using femara and injectibles (follistim). (I had about a 4.5 on chlomid. On the others I have ranged between an 8 and 10.) So, if things don't work for you this month, have faith that there is something else out there that will get the nice cushy lining you are hoping for. I know how frustrating it is, believe me. But I keep telling myself that it is a process and with each step where I learn something new about what works for my DH and I, we are closer to the child we are longing for. I wish you all the best!

Me 30, DH 31. Unexplained infertility after 2+ years ttc.7 cycles on clomid, BFN . Found out on 7th cycle that clomid really thinned my lining out. 1 cycle: tamoxifen + IUI; BFN 1 cycle: femara + IUI; BFN June 2009: follistim + IUI; 2 mature follicles; BFN July 2009: on hold due to cysts left over from previous follistim cycle August 2009: follistim starting CD2 instead; 6 mature follicles -- cancelled cycle to avoid risk of high order multiples September 2009: on birth control hoping to avoid cysts October 2009: one pesky cyst left, so on hold again Oct-27 - AF finally arrived. Follistim at 50 IU on CD3-10. Nov 8: IUI w/ 90 million post-wash!!! Adding progesterone (crinone) support this month too. Feeling so blessed this month to get to try. Only one lead follicle -- but this is the ONE I know it. Really hopeful that this will be the month where it all works out! ![]()
