Well, this is my story. I got my period on October 10, 2008. Since then, I didn't get my period until this October. I went a whole year without a period. The problem now is that I'vee with it for over two weeks. Do you guys think this is normal??? I think that if by next week it doesn't stop, I will have to go to the doctor.

Yep! I went 2 years and 3 months without a period once I was 19 so it was pretty much a blessing at that point. When I would go to my general doctor for something unrelated like a knee injury they would always ask the date of you last menstrual period. I would say two years ago and they acted like it was the end of the world! They would order all these tests and insist I was pregnant (which doesn't even make sense). I would then go to my gynecologist who thought it was no big deal. There is no reason you have to have a period each month. Obviously you want to make sure all you levels and bloodwork is okay. Then we started TTC and I take provera each month to get my cycle. The first cycle in over two years was awful. It lasted for ever and was pretty painful. Now I try to remain consistant with it and force myself to have a cycle every month. We were put on a mandatory break so I have been skipping a few cycles since I don't need them!

I had periods every 2 1/2 - 3 months. I wasn't ovulating and eventually my body would shed the lining on its own. If you don't have periods with some regularity, your uterine lining isn't shedding often enough and you are at a higher risk for uterine cancer. So it's important to see your doctor and get checked. I used hormones to bring on a period. If you're trying to get pregnant, you obviously need to be on something to get you ovulating.

yeah unfortunately/fortunately lol...i was without af for a 6 month period got it one month then another 6 month without....then nothing for 2 years lol...then i got pregnant (i guess my cycle came back mystery there) after ds was born i didn't have my period for another 2 years 9 months of which could have been from breastfeeding after that i don't know i eventually went to the ob/gyn and they just said it'll come back eventually ...hmmm? so i found a re in the area and the rest is signature lol...good luck would definitely contact a dr just to find out what is going on...good idea just in case
