baby asprin

Hello-

I just read that some of you take baby asprin after ovulation to help the baby stick? How does that work? When is it to late to take it? I had my trigger shot on the 18th. Sex the 18th, 19th and 20th and then I just started taking prometrium on the 21st. I am taking the prometrium for that reason. Just curious what your thoughts are and because now that I am in the 2ww apparently I need things to freak out about :-)

i dnt think you should take asprin..... i think any such drug like asprin, brufen etc cause problem in the whole ferilization/implantation process...this is what i was told in my Infertility clinic. i would stay away from them.

All the best!!

Don't go taking anything until you talked to your RE because it can cause some problems. I took baby asprin without asking my RE and it caused me some problems. So it is best to ask your RE before trying anything. I'm never doing anything like that again. You may see tons of people taking certain things but it is best to ask your RE before doing it.

Good Luck to you..

Yes, talk to your RE.... I did IVF with baby aspirin, it increases bloodflow to the uterus and there are some studies that show increased chances in IVF using the baby aspirin IF PRESCRIBED. If you have a bleeding disorder this can cause some major problems. Plus you do not take it after a certain point in the IVF cycle (a certain number of days after the transfer) and since they do not know what and if you had fertalization they cannot calculate the dates for you.

The reason for taking aspirin is related to clotting disorders, but you should be diagnosed first. An example of this can be Antiphospholipid antibodies. As others have said, it can cause side effects. Typically, it is not recommended until you have had several m/c's.

I wouldn't do it without a doctors consent. it works by thinning the blood slightly. Some doctors feel that tiny blood clots can cause very early miscarriage.
