hi mettie,
i have hypothroid & taking levothyroid. If you are able to keep your TSh levels under control then there is no need to worry about thyroid at all. My TSh went high last dec/Jan and did not get back normal for more than 6 months....my PC kept changing my dosage! My RE told me that he needs 2 consecutive normal TSh reports only then he will go ahead with any further tests. But we know controlling TSH level is not in our hands so lets hope they stay normal till we conceive. I did take clomid 100mg this month but no changes in my diet...is there something i dnt know about thyroid & clomid....do let me know. All the best! ![]()

Hi and welcome. I don't have experience with your circumstances, but I just wanted to say hi and wish you well. Also, if you click on "Acronyms" at the top of the forum page, it'll bring up a list of abbreviations. It seems overwhelming, and it is, but you'll be typing and thinking in letters soon enough, and you'll get a handle on it. There are a lot of great people here willing to help you out!

clomid and Thyroid
Hello,
I don't know if there is a special diet or a link between clomid and thyroid, just heard that from another person who was taking clomid and had a thyroid problem... How do you know when someone has posted on what you wrote?? Is there some kind of indicator or something... Look forward to us having sucess soon. |

My DW was on Clomid for her PCOS, after making no progress we moved to Femara and Metformin.
PCOS is also known to lead to type 2 diabetes, which is why Metformin is prescribed as apparently it helps prevent that. The Clomid side effects were difficult for us, she had almost bi-polar mood swings. It was always fairly random as to what her mood would be and having a stressfull job (which she eventually left) didn't help much either. A friend suggested we ask for a higher dosage of Clomid after Femara didn't produce results, at which point we decided the drug resolutions probably weren't a good option for us moving forward. All I can say is make sure you and your DH read the side effects of the drug so he is prepared. It effects different people in different ways, so you should be prepared for all the side effects. |
